The thing that I don't understand is why it took till the second half to start throwing quick slants and start rolling McCord out away from pressure. Instead you let him sit in the pocket taking pressure rite in the face for a half of football.
@joefilipelli3867 I agree. But, any coach should of realized Pitt loves to blitz and your o-line is weak that ball needs to get out of McCord hands. Instead you start with long plays that take time to develop, don't move the pocket, or worked on one step drops and rifle the ball out of there. It was like there was zero urgency on getting the ball out of his hands. Some of the NFL best qb Manning and Brady, ect have shown how to pass a blitz happy defense into submission. Syracuse did none of it until the 1st drive in the 3rd quarter. I expected Coach Nixon and McCord to be way more prepared for the game with the bye week
Pitts defense looked impressive right out of the gate. McCord has carried this team all season and really needs some help from his teammates. Extremely disappointing loss, really lost a lot of momentum with this one. Had we lost a close game i wouldnt be worried about it derailing the entire season.

Lifelong Buckeyes fan here, this doesn’t surprise me in the least. This is classic McCord. He has a couple good throws, maybe even a few amazing throws, he builds some momentum early in the season and then he absolutely blows it against decent competition. I don’t mean to trash talk the guy, but he’s really, really poor when the pressure is on. The man is an enigma, he doesn’t make sense. Extremely inconsistent and varies wildly.
No offense intended, but as the fan of an annual football powerhouse, your expectations are by definition too high. Granted, I didn't get a lot of chance to watch Kyle play last year. But just looking at his numbers, they look solid. Statwise, his worst game looked to be against Notre Dame (lowest completion %, low yardage, no TDs). The litmus test for how good someone is cannot simply be how the game against a rival plays out. Yes, they lost to Michigan. "Can't win 'em all" is an axiom for a reason. So I'll reserve my judgment until the end of the year, but I've definitely seen a lot more good than bad from him.

He actually didn't play that badly. Of those five interceptions, I only put two on him: the first and third, when the defense jumped a route. The fifth was tipped on a diving lunge by an off-balance defender who looked like he had just gotten beat, and got a lucky hand on the ball.
