    Agree the health care is old school where they actually still care and ask about your whole self, from my experience. It’s wonderful

    I live in La and have been going down to a Playa Dc every winter. I love the relaxing healthy atmosphere. Very walkable . A few of downsides are the very severe humidity, the constant scams, lack of variety in foods and services , the cartels, the seaweed on the beaches and the mosquitos . The pros are very close to fun destinations like Bacalar , Holbox island , Merida. Also the Mexican people are so genuine and nice, no politics , wonderful vibrant culture which embraces family and friends time, the simple down to earth felling and the food taste so much better . Also flights are so cheap within Mexico so just go and explore . I definitely want to visit the Oaxaca beach side. Mexico is big so explore then rent before you buy .

    This interview was extremely helpful for me. I have autoimmune conditions that require a rheumatologist and special medical care, so hearing someone else's medical story is eye opening.

    A great story from Brandy about her move to Mexico! Some people kind of instantly know, I think of Brighton and Kat who bought the first home they saw. I'm so happy for Brandy and her family!

    I actually reached out to Dr. Z's clinic about becoming a patient during the pandemic. It didn't work out. But it's so nice to hear the story of someone I am somewhat distantly connected to. Glad to hear that things have worked out so well for her.

    I watch all of your videos and was surprised to see this one. I was a client at thier clinic in California and I'm a health professional and have recently Had Brandy's coaching program on my facebook feed. Enjoyed watching how happy moving has made her and can't wait until it's my turn. 1.5 more years. But have to admit this interview makes me want to do it all right now.

    Thank you for your informative and interesting commentary. You actually hit on every subject and question I might have about what it is like to live in Mexico and the specifics of what it is like to live in Playa. I am so happy to hear that you and your husband are happy and that you did not let your health challenges stop you from living life on your terms. Many blessings to you!!!

    Thanks for this interview. Florida was like this, too. We were there about 8 years. Everyone - even the kids are really friendly. And, I felt like I was on vacation all the time there as well. (but it's certainly expensive - we left before the pandemic). The tropics are great.

    Playa del Carmen is nice atmosphere, 45 minutes from cancun, 45 minutes from tulum, and a ferry ride to cozumel, and 90 minutes drive to take the ferry to holbox. Cancun airport is about 40 to 55 minutes depending on traffic. Merida is a 3 and half hour drive. They have train maya now that makes it easier to travel around to Yucatan and quintana roo. If you live before the highway, 45th I think and to beach, much more expensive and noisy, more traffic. After the highway, some traffic also, but much more affordable, but will need taxi , a car or a motorcycle 🏍 to get to the beach area and the 5th ave. I stayed by the beach for 11000 pesos for a studio 2 street from the beach, and a house with 2 bedroom for 10000 pesos after the highway. It's all about how you want to live. I have my residency from income, has to be Making over 2000 dollars a month for the past 6 months. My lawyer is amazing, took care of everything. There's so much groups in whatsapp, if need any of them, let me know.

    My concern with Playa del Carmen would be the seaweed (sargassum) in the water. If I'm going to live near the ocean, I want to be able to go IN the ocean.

    Thanks so much for the great interview, Mariana! Perhaps one suggestion might be to be a little more clear as to where the lady moved to. It is somewhat apparent she is living in the Yucatan area. Perhaps a map might show exactly where she is. As in any country, not all locations are the same.

    That you have a companion makes a big difference. But I think the most important qualification for living in Mexico is fluency in the Mexican language. I hope my study of Spanish will give me basic conversational ability by the time I visit Mexico City later this year.

    • @MexicoRelocationGuide
      @MexicoRelocationGuide  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely knowing some Spanish makes a huge difference in your experience. But even then most of our customers move to México without being fluent at all and learn while living there
