Thanks for watching guys! This is the last video of our UK series! What was your favourite video from the series? See you next week in Istanbul, Turkey!!
@@SirKonrad I came in to compliment you as well - perfect pronunciation of Edinburgh. There’s been more massacres of that name than in all the battles in Scotland.
Tourist coming to Scotland seem to gravitate towards Edinburgh, Glasgow, the highlands, and isle of Skye. There are hidden gems such as the Scottish borders. The Ayrshire coast. Isle of Arran, Dumfries and Galloway. Plus other cities, such as Aberdeen, Dundee and Inverness.
I bought a car in Edinburgh so had to drive back to Cheshire, went wrong,, thankfully. I ended up on a stunning B road crossing the country in the Low Lands, best driving mistake I've ever made, BEAUTIFUL. Oh, by the way Neeps are swead NEVER parsnip.
Enjoyed your video, glad you enjoyed Edinburgh.....come back for your honeymoon and tour Scotland....take care and lang may yer lum reek, cheerio the noo.!!!!
Just to enlighten you, Holyrood Park is not, as you suggested, on the edge of the city. It's entirely within the city. The Park is surrounded by suburbs, stretching from the River Forth to the north and the Pentland Hills to the south.
@ 3.40 in your video you show a view of Arthur seat, hidden in the grass about 20ft infront of you, there is a rock with some old carving on it. When you stand infront of the rock, or a few feet either side, and shout you get the most amazing echo. Not sure what the carvings once said, but it's a cool thing to show visitors. Enjoyed your V-log, and always appreciate when Americans take the time to learn how to pronounce the name of my city, you'd be surprised how many don't. The "highlands" are the Pentlands, due south of Edinburgh, they continue south and turn into the southern uplands.
Wow I wish we knew that when we were there!! Thanks for sharing that information 🙂. Not sure it makes a difference but I’m actually Canadian and maybe because of Lauren I could pronounce the city name properly, but it doesn’t seem like a challenging name to pronounce so not sure why so many people mess it up 😅😂
Thank you I really enjoyed this trip around Edinburgh. My mum was from here and I spent many holidays at my grandparents house. I’ve not been back for many years. X
We'll be taking our first trip to Edinburgh in October. It looks so beautiful! Thanks for sharing your trip with us. It gave us lots of ideas on areas to visit!
Thanks for watching! Yes sure we went to Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh castle, Calton Hill, Royal Mile, National Gallery. We also went to Stockbridge & Dean Village along with the royal botanic gardens. We also went out of the city to North Berwick. Hope this helps 🙏
Awesome slice of Scottish life. I've been to Edinburgh many times, its a beautiful place. I'm from up north in Aberdeen, the haggis is slightly better up there. :-)
What a lovely couple - Haste ye back - Hope you can visit the highlands and the isles of Scotland! Shame about so many visitors at Arthur seat - So many visitors have been watching Harry Potter films, now all of a sudden - Scotland has become famous! I Don't live in Edinburgh now! I used to work in Dean village when there was a sheep tannery back then! I could not believe my ears when you mentioned in your blog that you paid £18 to enter Edinburgh Castle to watch the one o'clock gun being fired! Shocking! It was free for many years! Scotland has so much history that you should Google and come back and visit the real Scotland up north and try out the Cullen skink which is a creamy soup made from cod and tatties! The single malt whisky made from the purest water in the world and is known world wide, even Scottish gin, iron Brue and so much more Scotland has to offer!
Thanks so much for the nice words!! We definitely need to come back soon and take more time to explore as much of Scotland as possible! Also Cullen Skink sounds great!! 🙂
@@SirKonrad Couple of corrections. Hollywood Park is not on the edge of Edinburgh, it's well within the city. Check a map of the whole city (not just of the centre). And the one o'clock gun is fired every day, not just on Sunday.
I wasn’t exactly surprised about the beaches being there but more the beauty of them! I guess when we think of The UK it’s not the first thing you think of. But you have some incredible ones! I can’t wait to come back someday 🙂
Exactly how we feel about a lot of foods that people are afraid to try! If only people knew what they were really eating haha. Haggis is fantastic and we look forward to having more on our next visit!!
3:24 Given that the motorcade is heading towards the Scottish Regional Assembly Building, it's most likely a criminal. 4:54 Yes, the ridge in the distance is the edge of the boundary fault that is the geological border between the Lowlands and the Highlands. It runs from SW to NE so it's a lot closer to Glasgow than it is to Edinburgh.
Steady on there kumasenlac. I was an Edinburgh Cop for 30 years. We don’t give prisoners, of any status, that level of protection. They come and go in normal G4S prisoner vans. This is a VIP motor convoy of some sort. glad you guys enjoyed our capitol….
I love the shots that you are trying to do, but the faster panning shots are hurting my eyes. Maybe it is the lens, maybe the sensor isn't in a high enough frame rate, maybe it is the video compression.... I'm no expert. But they seem really juddery, especially when panning across areas of high detail like a city scape or a historic wall. The very slow panning shots and fixed shots are beautiful though
Thanks for watching and commenting!! Actually We’ve been filming on our iPhones and I think it is the frame rate likely because I have noticed these things at times as well! We shoot 4k, 24fps. Still learning as we go but appreciate the feedback!! 🙂
Very true. Took some English friends to Glasgow and one of them wanted one. They didn’t believe me when I told them, but the guy in the chip shop said he has made thousands of them and not once has he made one for a Scottish person.
@@SirKonrad Yeah, deep fried mars bars are a tourist trap thing. Next time you visit Edinburgh, if you want an authentic chip shop experience, ask for a "deep fried pizza supper". It's the real deal. Deep fried battered frozen pizza and chips. I'm not joking BTW. And if you are sampling this delicacy in Edinburgh, you have to eat it in the authentic Edinburgh way . . . slathered with brown sauce . . . none of that salt and vinegar nonsense. You can also order a "haggis supper". I'll let you guess what that is!
@@billps34 we did have Haggis actually but is a Haggis supper different from regular Haggis? All of that sounds super healthy and I will definitely come back to have it some day!! 😅🤤 No but seriously deep fried pizza actually sounds incredible
@@SirKonrad Aye’p🤨 Was disgusting, eh? lol Had to’v happened during The Festival months as well, so peak tourist time for the people from all round the world to enjoy👀🫣😓
We went to see lauren’s brother and had limited time, we went out for the day to North Berwick you can see that at the end of our video. When we get a chance to go back to Scotland we will be exploring more!
Hahaha I actually don’t know why I knew the proper pronunciation (even before my girlfriend), but I also don’t know why people pronounce it the wrong way so often 🤷🏻♂️😂
Eventhough I really like your videos, you should not feel privileged enough to moan about other people being around, sounded so weird, you are not the only person going and visiting Edinburgh so it is only normal that there are people around you who has climbed the hills to see the city like yourself!
You’re absolutely right! I don’t remember exactly what was said but just sharing what we saw as we saw it. And sometimes places can just be a bit too crowded for our liking. Appreciate you watching and commenting! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
When you see black Land Rovers and Range Rovers in the convoy it's pretty much guaranteed that it's royalty. Criminals don't get that level of comfort and Scottish govt is not valued enough to warrant that level of protection.
I notices that you have the Scottish flag (Cross of St. Andrew.) in your videos but then in your videos of England you show the Union flag. The Union flag is for the United Kingdom. The English flag is the Cross of St. George. The Union flag has never been the English flag and never will be. Nice videos. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Jack
We used the Union Flag first with all the videos we made in England and I guess considered it for all of the UK but thought it might be nice to use the Scottish flag when we made the Edinburgh video last. Very good point though and we will likely use the English flag for future videos when we’re back! Thanks for watching!! 🙂

That makes me happy to hear! Thank you!! 🙏🏼
I hope my pronunciation passed the test 😅

I learned this afterwards. More so I meant on the edge of the main area there!
