There are several QB’s in this year’s draft who could be stars in the NFL & whichever one the Bears take will be walking into a nice situation this season.
I didn’t like to see Fields go, but his 4th-quarter stats make it easier to understand.
Edge is clearly the biggest need.
That can still be done in free agency though. With nine either go high end receiver or Alt if he is there (very good odds either one of the big three or Alt is there at nine). I will still say grab Clowney on like a 4 million deal (he made 2.5 last year so give him a raise) then go edge with your 1 next year. Since the Bears shouldn't be drafting this high again for awhile (hopefully) grab the receiver or tackle now when you have a shot at going big time on one of those positions.
It might be but they can address that through NFL Free Agency and could always get an EDGE later in the draft. BEAR DOWN!
@@BearsNow They can address any need later in the draft, like center, etc. But edge defenders are highly paid, and getting a really good one on a rookie contract makes a lot of financial sense. A FA will cost more, tying up more money (along with Sweat's contract) at the position.
I'd say Owens is more SS depth (brisker cover) than anything
It's going to be late rounds for EDGE unless something freaky happens... I think Poles is going to do as much as he can to stack the offense for whichever quarterback he drafts. This will be a defining season for both Poles and Flus. They have to get it right imho
3:14 we need more depth at WR, thats for sure. Allen and DJ are a ton of help, but what if they both cant play?
I'm shocked at the number of Bears fans who, once we signed Allen, act as if our WR woes are over. Yes, we signed a great veteran to play opposite of DJ, but who's our #3 - Scott? Jones? We still need to beef up our WR corps.
@@clubmogambo3214 Poles should sign former Bears #1 WR Allen Robinson to a cheap contract to be WR3. Robinson is actually 16 months younger than current Bears co-#1 WR Keenan Allen.

I'm surprised Pettis wasn't mentioned at least as one of the special teamers. He'll definitely be our PR and could possibly be WR#4, unless the Bears draft one with the 9th pick.
Braxton Jones is fine as a starter. I don’t think that the LT position is that glaring of a need.

Depending on draft could move to a B+. Still need a DE, 3 tech DT, WR3 and upgrades at C and LT. Trusting that Nate Davis’s play improves and personal issues do not impact his focus and play.
I think it’s absolutely important whatever qb. You draft you have to bring along a wr that qb has worked with. If you draft Caleb you have to draft rice or take. If you draft Daniel’s (my choice)you have to draft naigbors or Brian Thomas. If you draft maye you have to draft walker. If you draft jj you have to draft Roman or that other dude ( although the Michigan combo is less desirable imo) considering that concept it is very doable. Then get a de , dt, center, and blocking te .
We don't have a ton of holes like we normally do...everyone is trained to say trade down because we are perennial top 10 pick team....I don't see us in top 10 for years anymore...trade up for mhj...next year fill the trenches
B to A- depending on the draft. Aside from QB major holes remain on both lines. I am a huge fan of Odunze but I am starting to wonder if both he and Alt are there at 9 that the smart move is to take Alt. Then you go D-line with the last two picks. I expect us to win 10 games this year. It may not be enough for the playoffs but the team is set for a deep playoff run in 2025.
Edge is a bigger need that DT, Walker is your #2 3tech if you have a rookie getting high snaps at edge.
C+ / B- just waiting for the draft moves to fill some weak spots on the roster

Being petty, but we need a new punter or at least a competition. A veteran QB is a need as well. Not sure what the price is on tanne though
D Line, O line, and Receiver needs an upgrade
Trade down the 9th pick, receive a 2nd rounder, and get JPJ or another incredible OL. Then sign Yannick Ngakoue on a team friendly deal for a year. That way you cover two needs so that you can focus on getting another WR in the 2nd round.

Call up Minnesota and see if they'll trade straight up our #9 for their #11 and #23. Probably not but worth a try.

C. Poles the Bonehead blew it by trading Fields. He could have filled almost every need. But he traded Fields and not the #1 pick for capital.
Still so many needs and not enough picks... Shoulda kept Justin and traded #1 for a haul
Poles can still trade down multiple times from #1 for a haul, then draft Oregon QB Bo Nix @ #9, so Broncos don't snatch him @ #12.
