This magnificent prophecy of our Lord has many applications for us today, yet we must remember who it was given to, His disciples who would see the events come to pass in their generation.
Keep it coming, brother Hank. That issue must be said and put to an end of that false eschatology teaching. Scripture is so plain and clear, and direct.

Dispensationalism often takes Matthew 24:34 and says, “the generation that see’s these signs...” Clearly this is added to text in order allow them to be comfortable with their traditions over the clear statement given by Jesus. Hank, didn’t the sacrificial age end when the veil was rent from top to bottom? There are events predicted in Matthew 24 that seem difficult to fit into the first century such as the Lord’s visible return. Could generation refer to the Jews both then and through time?
@The rending of the veil has profound theological significance. Craig Keener says, “The holy of holies, which the priest could enter only once a year, was the ultimate symbol of God’s dwelling place. God’s rending the veil meant that he was now available apart from the temple system and that the old temple order stood judged and abolished” (Craig S. It unthinkable for a Christian to return to the giving of animal sacrifices in a consecrated temple with a standing ceremonially clean Levitical priesthood and Aaronic priest. This matter is dealt with in the Epistle to the Hebrews. Mark 15:38 hints at this but the formal teaching and exposition comes from the Epistle to the Hebrews.
@@BibleAnswerMan Hank, I was referring to what you said about the destruction of the temple being the end of the sacrificial age. I agree with you about there being only one return of the Lord, that we won’t be suddenly taken out of the world in the days before he returns, that events in Revelation may be ongoing through history and today, but it’s difficult to see that everything the Lord talks about in Matthew 24 refers only to the first century (if I understand you correctly).
Both v 35 and v. 36 would concern the near future judgment on Jerusalem. The unexpectedness of the return of Jesus is presumed, since nowhere in Scriptures is that date ever revealed. The principle of always being vigilant in the parable of the bridesmaids awaiting the groom in Matthew 25 has manifold application to all Christians from the first century and beyond.

(Josephus _Flavius, De Bello Judaico_ III,i,3)
In your heading you referenced Matthew 24 but should show you were addressing the end of Matthew 23 and Jesus addressing the Pharisees and Scribes on how wicked they were, which as not the same as Matthew 24. On the Temple in a few areas of the new testament he address himself as a temple and how he would die and rise again which the disciples did not understand thinking he meant the Temple in Jerusalem which would be torn down before they died and see his resurrection. His description of himself dying and coming back again which is call the First Resurrection which his disciples witnessed and over 500 others seeing him alive after he died on the cross is also addressed of Jesus being the corner stone would be would be set aside but would be the chief corner stone later. So hopefully the two temples are not confused with his coming again whereas second time in Matthew 24, Revelation, and Daniel. If referencing Matthew 24:34 Jesus was not speaking of the generation he was living in, but the generation of which the tribulation is in since it is referenced after all he had spoken of.

@@BibleAnswerMan Thanks for asking. Matthew 24:1-3 is the diciples pointing out the temple and Jesus said "See ye not all these things?" and he was not talking about the temple but Himself the temple of God. Jesus did this quite a bit just like when Nicodemus came to him by night and called or recognized Jesus as Rabbi, however before Nicodemus could ask a question Jesus gave him an answer of being born again.
Ok, check this out. Jesus spoke aramaic. The word that in all antiquities documents that got translated from aramaic to greek for denoting race was sharbatta. Sharbatta means race. When these ancient document got translated to greek the word "Genea" was used to render it. But if you are not convinced, then lets talk some real revelation here assuming anyone persists that generation means a timespan of those alive at a certain point in time. Let me enlighten you, your noodles 🤯 are going to get baked by the following statements below. Matthew, Chapter 1, verse 1, lists the physiological ancestry of Jesus, ending with His name in verse 16. Verse 17 divides this list into 3 groupings consisting of 14 names per group. However, if you count the names in each group, you will come up one name short in the last group, making the name Jesus 13th in that group. What happened to 3 groups of 14 generations each? But Matthew does not say, “14 generations from the Babylonian exile to Jesus” . He says “14 generations from the Babylonian exile to Christ”. This means when Jesus was born, he was at the 13th generation, when he died it was the begining of the 14th generation. He ressurected to never die again. A generation is normally understood not as denoting timespan but a group of people living at a certain time together. Since Jesus predicted this at the end of his ministry, the 14th generation, he ressurected at the 14th generation and since he comes from that 14th generation, immortal, then he is right when he said "This generation shall not pass away, since hes from the 14th generation, because HE LIVES! Since Jesus is both 100% human, and 100% divine, Jesus Christ is both the 13th and 14th generations. It is this 14th generation, the generation of the Christ, the generation of the anointed, that will never pass away before all of His promises are fulfilled. This generation is not measured in the element of time, but in the element of eternity. There you have it.
Here is ABSOLUTE proof that all prophecy was NOT fulfilled in the past, in the first century: 1Corinthians 6:19, "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?" This is a prophecy that is fulfilled EVERY SINGLE time a person repents and turns to Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin; the Holy Spirit moves into the New Believer.
2nd Corinthians 5:17 is even more obvious: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." This is PROPHETICALLY true every time someone comes to Christ as Savior.
So what Hank is saying in essence is there is third coming because the “coming” prescribed in Mathew, Mark and Luke would have to be the second coming (of judgement). Of course, that can’t be so “this generation” has to be interpreted another way. One way is to say He is referring to the generation of Christians. There are other variations to that theme. In any case, Jesus is referring to His second coming, which is yet to happen. That is the only way to avoid contradictions and confusion. Hank in fact made a statement at around 9:10 that Jesus is referring to His contemporaries for the interpretation of “this generation”. Contemporaries can actually mean “colleagues” or “equals”. So, “this generation” can indeed refer to all the Christians who follow Jesus since then, in other words, “generation of Christians”. Sorry Hank, but you are not being consistent and instead confused. That’s to be expected as no one is perfect. However, Jesus is clear when he was referring to his (second) coming. It’s not yet happened. As for the coming of judgement, well there are a number of judgement moments. The final one is the coming Great White Throne Judgment described in Revelation 20:11-15 and is the final judgment prior to the lost being cast into the lake of fire. Symbolically, the books that are opened (Revelation 20:12) contain records of everyone’s deeds, whether they are good or evil, because God knows everything that has ever been said, done, or even thought, and He will reward or punish each one accordingly (Psalm 28:4; 62:12; Romans 2:6; Revelation 2:23; 18:6; 22:12). At that point all the enemies of Christ and the Church are removed once and for all. Anyone who thinks they are not still here with us today must be blind. This alone proves the Great White Throne Judgment is indeed in the future but there is more. Heaven and earth will pass away (Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31 and Luke 21:33) and they will be replaced by the new heavens and the new earth. At that time, the Lord, seated on His throne, says, “I am making everything new!” (Revelation 21:5). In the new creation, sin will be totally eradicated, and “there shall be no more curse” (Revelation 22:3). The new earth will be free from sin, evil, sickness, suffering, and death. All these things are still present with us today thus proving once again what Jesus said about “heaven and earth will pass away” in Matthew, Mark and Luke is indeed about the future. We can agree to disagree but as I have shown I use Scripture to interpret Scripture, not use man-made eschatological views, such as preterism, dispensationalism, futurism, historicism, etc., which are all full of errors and wrought with danger, sometimes very serious danger; the kind that will send some people to the lake of fire if one is not careful.
Your argument is misplaced and naive to even layman reading of Scripture, sorry but Hank’ explained the correct reading of the context of what Jesus said.
@@jmb2889 Wow that a lot of evidence there 😊 Do you care to rebuke the Scriptural evidence I’ve provided? Hank, you’re so close. Jesus came in judgment and did all that he said he would. He won and Revelation was fulfilled. John said all these events in Revelation would soon take place...and they did. ‘Orthodoxy’, whatever that means, isn’t scripture.

You can start by showing me how Scripture sates the “coming” of Jesus in Matthew, Mark and Luke is not the same as the one stated throughout the rest of the Bible. If are able to do that then you would have proven when Jesus comes again it will be His third not second coming. Good luck.
Thats right on brother..... Hank missed the mark, lets pray for him. Also, I see how so many people, especially those who make income from preaching or teaching, are just itching to be "different from the rest" , to stand out somehow.....and most stand out in the wrong way, rather than allowing the text to back up its own scripture, all beautifully alligned throughout the full counsel
@70AD Heretical view even according to Hank's teachings. There will most certainly be a second physical coming. You should be ashamed of yourself for teaching unbiblical views. Repent and pray to God for foreignness for making such outrageous claims.
@70AD He will on His return remove all traces of evil in the world without any delay. Lots more but of course you refuse to accept the Scriptures are really saying. Why do you even bother visiting this channel given you do not accept what the Greek Orthodox Church says about the most important aspect of our Lord, namely His second coming to be?
Hank, you’re so close. Jesus came in judgment and did all that he said he would. He won and Revelation was fulfilled. John said all these events in Revelation would soon take place...and they did. ‘Orthodoxy’, whatever that means, isn’t scripture.
Absurd, if only you actually knew the Bible
Care to elaborate?
