I got my comply 2.0 ear tips and I love them, people say it was uncomfortable and not worth it but I disagree, I’ve used many foam ear tips and these are the ones for me.
What would be your best recommendation for someone who is apprehensive at the idea of inner earbuds but wants to try the pros? What tip would make the experience most comfortable? I’m on the Spectrum and not liking things inside my ear is one of my idiosyncrasies. But I’ve had second gen AirPods for a couple year I got second hand and decided it was time to upgrade. I haven’t bought them yet but I’m researching secure comfortable tips.
If you are used to the non-pro AirPods that just sit on the outside of your ears, you may not like the AirPods Pro since they sit inside your ears. The silicone tips that come with the AirPods Pro will likely be the best for you since they feel "light" and not as noticeable in your year. You probably won't like the memory foam ear tips as feeling the foam expanding in your ear as it creates a seal may be unconformable if you are sensitive to that.
Not sure which ones you are referring to since this roundup features all of them, but make sure to pick one with pure memory foam like the Comply as the ones with silicon or hybrid will not offer passive noise reduction.
Hello- thanks for the roundup. I understand this was made a little while ago, but do you recall which one of these foam tips seemed to block the most noise? In other words, had the best “passive” noise cancelation?
The best passive noise cancellation would be based on the best seal in your ear. In my chart at the end the "comfort" section describes this. In my opinion the Comply 2.0 were the best, and the FoamMasters 4.0 and CharJenPro Active were also good.
Seeing how Apple just released their new AirPods Pro 2s, I was planning on picking up a pair of foam ear tips. Great comparison over all the different options. Have you noticed any difference in sound quality and ANC between each of the different brands? Would the Complys still be the best in those categories?
I ordered the new 2nd gen AirPods Pro to test if these third party ear tips will fit and still work with the new AirPods and hope to make a video about my findings very soon. The shipment got delayed so I am still waiting for them but from what I've heard, they should work. A good fitting ear tip will definitely increase sound quality and ANC. My favorites are still the ones from Comply.
Falling AirPods have been a massive problem for me. My left ear can’t just keep any brand in. I was using a DIY solution - as I can’t possibly spend almost €40 every few months for earphones. I’ve recently bought a pair of silicone tips called Delidigi and, for about €10, they solved my problem: they are “doubled” tips (with a little tip on top of another) but also fit in the case perfectly. Perhaps the sound has lost a bit of quality - just a bit if any - and sound insulation is not as good, but for the price I must say they do wonders as I no longer live in fear of losing the left pod when I’m going places.
All foam is going to deteriorate at some point. But silicone tips like the SpinFit or the hybrid from CharJenPro would be your best bet since they are protected by the silicone which can hold up better.
I have some cheap no brand foam ones. I don’t notice any noise or slow expanding but they do get dirty! I want to try the charjenpro now but that expansion time is long!
Does this help with the static or heavy vibration? Apple put out a recall and offered to replace any airpods effected by that for almost free, so this is the issue that I am referring to.
3:33 Scott, I can’t thank you enough for your reviews. I’m a satisfied Comply user, but have been tempted by the hype for Foam Masters and others. My #1 priority is comfort, so I’m buying more Comply 2.0s for my AirPods Pro 2 & 1 (yes, I have 2 sets, using the Gen 1s for my outdoor hikes. Anyhow thanks again!
I’ve noticed my Foam Master replacements have lost their elasticity after just a month of use, causing them to fall out more often. Has anyone experienced this with their own version over time? Is there a version that holds up better?
All foam will deteriorate at at some point and in my testing I found the Comply to last the longest and the CharJenPro to last the shortest. The SpinFit and CharJenPro Active would likely last the longest since their outer layer is silicone.
I have been using them for about a month and a half and they’re still going strong. They don’t seem to get as dirty as the comply foam tips do. Ultimately, The black magic seem to be better in every way in my opinion. I have used the comply from tips in the past and although they’re good in the beginning, they get really gnarly after about two weeks
Hey i have a Problem with the Silikon tips Apple Provides because when i am using them for a long period of time my Ears hurt..Do you Think that the charjen pro are comfortable to wear for a long period of time or which ones would you suggest for that matter ?
This video makes me want to try them all 🥲 my wallet hurts. Great comparison! But I want to know out of all these, which is the closest to the original tips in terms of “speaking-while-Wearing” sound quality. I tried the comply v1 and they made my voice muffle when I speak while having them on... whereas the Apple default tips maintain a neutral voice when speaking. Any thoughts? Secondly, which provides better listening sound quality besides comfort?
SpinFit would be the closest to Apple's if you don't want a tight/earfilling design. For speaking, best to put the AirPods on "transparency" mode so you can hear yourself. Sound quality is only really improved by having a good seal in your ear, and I find the Comply 2.0 best for that.
Good news! It’s optional. You can use the ones that come with your AirPods. But for people who find those uncomfortable, they are happy to pay $20-$30 for a solution.
Sorry, I missed it. There must be something wrong with my 3-month old AirPods Pro. Fit tests are not consistent in all stock bud sizes. Apple’s Help Center recommended I go to Apple service center to have the pair checked.
Comply 2.0 is a waste! Unless you like the smell of ear wax and just overall being dirty then have at them but it is a reason silicone is used for ear tips.
@@ScottSchramm I guess you know more than Apple now. Second; you can clean your ears all you want your body will still produce wax and while it's being produced comply tips will be nasty.

Great vid, thanks for the roundup! My Chargenpro airfoams have perished after nearly 3 years of use. Gonna try the comply 2.0 now!
Really helpful video thanks for sharing!
The comply ones are superb. Great fit, seal and very comfortable. Also a lot more durable than I expected they’d be. Well worth it.
4 month later how they holding up? Cause I heard after a month they start to wear

Comply 2.0 hands down.
I don’t know they get so gnarly after about 2-3 weeks.

Between foam masters and comply , does one feel more comfortable than the other?
I think the Comply feels better. I explain about the texture differences in this video:

Best comparasion video. Thank you
Thanks I bought the char rubber and foam combo kit thanks for making the video

I can’t decide between the chargenpro and comply. I’m leaning towards chargen to get that silicone seal. What do you think
I like the Comply better but the CharJenPro Pro Active is also a good one if you still want the silicone feeling instead or foam.
I ordered CHARJEN PRO YESTERDAY
Thanks you for the update review. I try comply 2.0, I return the CharJenPro active I didn’t like them they were uncomfortable and still pop out.

They look interesting. Glad you were able to find something that works for you!
I haven’t tried the comply brand but the others might fit nice but the sound quality takes a big hit vs the oem. Is it the same with comply brand?
Sound should not change unless you don’t have a good fit in your ears.
Which one is the longest lasting one?

The comply foam has a fast expansion time! Check out my video on that one.
Chairmen..hands down !
Does this help with the static or heavy vibration? Apple put out a recall and offered to replace any airpods effected by that for almost free, so this is the issue that I am referring to.
Ear tips will not fix that issue. That needs to be replaced by Apple.
Main problem with comply was earwax in the foam over time. do you get this and if so how do you clean them?
I don't get that issue very often. When I do, they are easy to clean by taking a soft cloth like a t-shirt and wiping them off.
Compare with azla sednaEarfit crystals witch one better ? Did anyone try or compare it ?
Which one is the best for noise cancellation?
The best for noise cancellation relies on the best fit in your ear. So in that case, I found the Comply the best for that.
