      @@alanreed374 you should seek therapy if you think ivan is lean. Eddie has abs too and theyre both between 25-35% not lean by any means. Its just core of steel, has nothing to do with them being lean. No natural will have abs at that bodyfat.

    It's fun to see so many people going for this. The full ROM lift over 500 is indeed way different than lifting from higher up or even reps with insane weights. That said, doing stuff like that does put you in the conversation of a potential 500 for sure. So far only 2 humans have managed it (unless there was a huge caveman playing with a giant rock one day---who knows), so we shall see! Best of luck to all those brave (and crazy) enough to try something like that.

    Imo, he needs to do deficit pulls instead of block pulls
    It's deceptive, because you think "oh, I'm failing the lock out, therefore I need to train the top portion of the lift" - and that might make sense in some cases, but it's actually deficit pulls that will help this. If you can increase the range of motion by an inch and still pull the weight all the way through the movement and lock it out for sets at 80 - 90%, then that 1RM standard deadlift will feel that much easier.

    I agree that Ivan is an amazing deadlifter but I feel the fact that he loads bumper plates first makes the lift easier. Its a minor ego boost but in competition will hurt him. Load as per cometition and he will get it done!

    • @bavarian9956
      @bavarian9956 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@АлексейК-678 ofc, the weight will be distributed more across the bar, which will make it bend more -> less effective ROM where you pull all the weight. might not be much but as the other guy said, it'll hurt his performance

    I’m glad he’s working on the upper range of motion (ie the lockout). With the rounded back you can get a really nice/ high starting position but it’s a double edged sword when you get to straightening it back out for the lockout. Probably why he’s gotten 500kg off the floor so many times but never locked it out.
