- In this video I cover a number of catfishing tips and techniques I utilize. I show you my gear and setup for anchor fishing. I explain the difference between the santee cooper rig and the carolina rig. I have video of a door I built for the passage between the consoles in my Sea Ark Protege. I give tips on using a bead to protect your knot, how I cut my bait, how I use colored tape on my rod handles to keep track of the set ups and baits I am using and I show you how I store pre-tied rigs. Also, I catch a number of fish, including one really good one.

You are the fishing grits of all time
Enjoy your expansion to catfish but can’t imagine you would actually clean and cook them
I never thought catfish was worth the effort
I am driving back from AZ on Monday
Love listening to your distinctive SE Missouri flavored commentary

I was looking at those rods on BnM poles site I learned of through one of the links on your crappie fishing videos.
Look like good rods
You always have the best video

Great Video as always.

Good video thanks for sharing I fish LOZ often
Great day on the water. I like the way you set your boat up!
Great video. I would love to learn more about how you caught your bait. Maybe a video on bait catching next time. I love all your videos. Thanks
Was on lake O two days after you. Fishing was good that day also.
Nice catch sir mike it's big catfish
Better a plastic bead than a led weight beating up on your knot!
I do like the beads you’re using better though
Hey Mr Mike love your videos I’m trying to make it out cat fishing wanted to ask how do you like the Pro guide battery I troll for crappie a lot thanks
Love them!
Hey Mike! Great Video! Are your new bnm rods medium heavy or heavy? Thank you
Medium heavy.
Where do you get this flat weights with the hole through the center? I have some flat weights, but they have the swivel to tie on with.
I like the sliders better but I usually use a rubber bead stop on top to keep it in place
Any tackle shop. They are called no rolls.
@@MikeBakerVideos I haven’t seen the ones that has the hole through the center to allow the line to feed through it, only the ones that tie on that have the eyelet to tie it on to a swivel clip or however

That door idea might of just saved me years of frustrations on how to block the wind! I have to fully enclose the bow which limits access to the trolling motor and front anchor. Is the door set up removable? Thanks again for the videos!!
If you take the hinge off.
You mentioned 40 lb line on the reel and 50 lb for leader. Should that be the other way around? I would think you would want the leader to break before the line will because it is lighter than the line weight. Or am I incorrect in my thinking?
Heavier leader line to withstand abrasions from fish, rocks and stuff on bottom.
@@MikeBakerVideos Makes sense. Thanks for the info.
mono leader?
@@camallen8687 yes.
Bring more sandwiches next time 😂
How deep are you fishing Mike?
20 to 35 ft.
Thank ya sir. Great video as always.
Great vid , nice captures . I love those rods also . I only have one of them but they’re perfectly balanced . What size hooks you using ? 12/0 ??
