  • A press pass provides several benefits to journalists and media professionals, including access to exclusive events and locations, enhanced credibility, better protection, networking opportunities, and better coverage.
    A press pass can help journalists gain access to sources, conduct interviews, and gather information that might be otherwise difficult to obtain. It also helps identify journalists to law enforcement and ensures their safety in potentially dangerous situations.
    A press pass can also provide networking opportunities, allowing journalists to build relationships with other media professionals.
    Finally, a press pass can lead to better coverage, enabling journalists to provide more in-depth, accurate, and engaging coverage of events.
    NOTE: In the video I mention resizing the template. This can only be done with a paid account. However, there is a work around. What you could do is download the file and then resize it in a photo editing program like photoshop or even insert the image into Word or Google Docs and then resize it. This will take care of the problem.

    This is great but resizing is a paid subscription feature. But thank you for this guide video. Very helpful!

      Thanks for the comment. Canva does offer a 30 day free trial. Or, almost any photo editing software will allow you to resize your final product.

    I took the idea from this video and asked one of the newspapers I submit to, if I could use their logo on a pass I was making myself. Instead, they made one for me and edited it according to my suggestions. Now I have something to wear at all of these events with my name, face, and purpose printed on it. I catch many parents, coaches, and game officials glancing at it. Once you have that, as long as you're respectful and act like you're supposed to be there, most people will leave you alone and let you do your job.

    You still use the Farmers lanyards like I do. You can't kill those things! hahaha

      Sharky! Yep, I have a small handful of them as well as some OSAA lanyards. They last forever.

      @@sportsphototv I still have the STSN passes you sent me. No one checks passes here in Idaho though. They should.

      Every once in a while I get checked her in Oregon. During championships they definitely check creds.

    All your advise is great. I did pick up that vertical battery and love it. I'm looking to upgrade by body. I shoot mostly sports action and are using a Sonya6100. I have a Sony 70-200 gm ii lens. Any advice on a new body

      @@sportsphototv I'm thinking 3k max

    • @sportsphototv
      @sportsphototv  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, 3k rules out the Sony A1 and Sony a9 II, which would be my first suggestions. This leaves the Sony A7IV, which runs around $2,500 new. It is a great camera that has plenty to offer and will pair great with the Sony 70-200 lens you have.

      Used a9 or maybe a7iv. The new a6700 looks compelling but the single card slot might not be for everyone.

    Nice video Craig and something I plan to do. Quick question on Canva though....whenever I go to resize it says I have to have Canva Pro Suite. I am logged in and even tried the exact ID you used in your video. Any idea why it let you resize with a free account but it won't let me do so?

    • @sportsphototv
      @sportsphototv  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Brian,
      I couldn't remember if you could resize to any size with the free Canva account or not. What you could do is download the file and then resize it in a photo editing program or even insert the image into Word or Google Docs and then resize it. Try one of those and let me know how it works out for you.
      Thanks for the comment and question.
