Wow, this looks amazing! Also, you two work really well together on camera, ye could totally have a show on telly doing this, it'd kick ass! Real, honest food that's entertaining as hell to watch being made😃
I still remember this was the first video I watched and got hooked to cooking for this channel. To this day I use this recipe. One of the best BLT I made. And will make.
My gosh. That looks astounding. I know that sandwiches can be really good food with a proper bread, but just the details all the way down... jazzing up the flavors in the bread dough, altering the mayonnaise with fresh seasonings, adding a bit of a kick in with the lettuce... I like to fancy myself somewhat creative with my food, but I'm liking the way y'all think unusually well here.
No. I was born in England and spend 3/4 of my life there before moving to the states. The way Ben says perfect is with a south west accent. I don't know where he grew up, but he has a south west hint to his accent. As for Americans, they say Perfect completely different. The P is short and fast, whereas Ben's P is long and accented, typical of more south western accents or northern.
That bread looks amazing! I am going to have to give that flavor combo a try. For future reference, though, when you score the top of the bread before baking, you should make the cuts significantly deeper. They aren't there just to look posh, they help the bread keep it's shape as it bakes (so you don't get weird bread explosions on the side of your loaf), and the edges of the cuts (called ears when they lift up and get crispy) get deliciously crisp and golden.
that looks so good. I'm a fan of the traditional lettuce crunch as well. I'm definitely going to have to make that bread. It looks perfect for dipping in a thick soup.
This is late, but I like finely minced red onion and either dill pickles or capers in my egg salad. Another thing that can be good is Granny Smith apple. And, of course, change up your dressing with spicy mustard or even salsa!
Things I would do differently: Roasted cherry tomatoes to intensify tomato flavours. Roasted garlic in the bread Multiple kinds of bacon...hickory smoked, maple, maybe panchetta?
I've been making hella good breakfasts most days of the week, I fry up some ham/bacon (if we have bacon), and an egg, layer egg with cheese to melt and slice some tomato and quickly fry that, toast some bread and make a sandwich out of that with a good drizzle of balsamic vinegar...that dressing fucking marries it harder than a Minister
my ex-girlfriend used to have a very inactive life-style, smoke pot and eat lots of unhealthy food and she wasn't fat. Later on she did sports and an only protein diet and was really good in shape.
Looks yum! We have our own version we call a Grilled cheese BALTO. You make bacon as crispy as possible in a pan. Save a little of the grease then butter the bread and sprinkle dry parmesan on top of the butter and made a grilled cheese in said pan with sharp cheddar cheese. Slice up onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado and open up the grilled cheese and add them to your liking along with the bacon. Also mix up some mayo with minced garlic to add. It's SO good!!! Might have to try that bread for the next time we make these. It looks awesome. I knead my bread by hand though so hopefully it will turn out ok.
I once asked an Italian who ran a family run sandwich bar (that had been around for generations) what his fav sandwich was and he said cream cheese, anchovy and onion. I thought he was joking but when I tried it my taste buds cried!! Don't know how best to jazz it up though. Any ideas?
I once made my BLT plus mushroom omlette. Got a big wow :) another time with B and T in omlette, then L on top of it with English mustard and black peppered-garlic mayo
Well this sucks. I just wanted to make this bread, but now the website is down due to the release of the new one. Does anybody know how much flour is needed for the dough?
Lol Barry's "how many have you done already" face palm was freaking cute!!! I might have rewind that part more that the number of lofts shown on the show! Also yummmm that bread might be a bit of work but it looks so good!!!!
I have to wonder how much different UK streaky bacon and real american bacon are. (the 'real' refers to the difference between mass-produced american bacon and small batch, butcher-made, true american bacon.)
Chelsea M. it's really interesting to see that what everyone calls "bacon", is not the same thing. I'm from greece and bacon here has a very strong taste and we don't make it crispy. I went to scotland and their breakfast bacon has a very light taste and they make it soft. also it's thicker and it has less fat. Then my boyfriend went to usa and told me that their bacon is completely different from the previous two. And then there's also the canadian bacon that i haven't tried. I only became aware of this several months ago and i think it's fascinating. i want to try them all :D:D
The Mechromancer :) Yeah, bacon is different just about anywhere you go. Canadian bacon is really just a form of salt-cured ham. It's very good, and is available in the US as well. And in the US, you have different styles of bacon: Cured or Uncured, Thick or Regular, Ends 'n Pieces (which have their own flavor), Maple, Applewood, Peppered, Hickory, Mesquite, Oak, etc. There's quite a bit to try, and not every place you go has every kind. It's kind-of like going out for a meal and everyone having their own recipe for the same dish.
+Chelsea M. It's all salt cured in a way. But bacon just refers to two different areas of the pig and how it's prepared. You can easily take pork belly braise it, and then slow cook it, and serve it as is or in chunks, but once it's prepared into strips or thinly sliced it becomes bacon. The same is said for the fatback of the pig, a different area but also very fatty, this is where english, canadian etc bacon is from. It's a lot more lean and far less fatty. American bacon would still taste like fatback just a lot more fatty, but 9 times out of 10 it's been smoked or cured in preservatives or heavy in salt. Go to a butcher and get fresh pork belly and slice it up as is then fry it, and it will taste nothing like what you are used to.
+Chelsea M. Well the English bacon is generally about 4 mm thick and we like to fry it (DUH) in oil (DUH * 2) anyway the end result is slightly crispy, good and smoky (The cheap stuff is probably 40% smoke though) We keep the fat on like you guys in the USA but our butchers take unnecessary fat off the bacon first
Is it a British thing to cook bacon in the stove? I'm American and we ALWAYS do it in a pan on the stovetop and I don't know any of my friends who do it in the stove.
He said that if you put the tomato in the dough too early that it will stop the yeast action, then after he puts the tomato he lets it rest AGAIN and it actually rises! Did the yeast forgot he put the tomato in or was that thing about the tomato stopping the yeast just bullshit?
by the time the bread is proving for the second time, the gluten has developed to the stage that the extra ingredients don't weigh it down. you usually find that any bread recipe with extra "big bits" adds them towards the end of the rising/proving time.
Regardless, it is not bacon. Traditionally, bacon is cured and/or smoked pork belly, if it's a different type of pork product being labelled as bacon, it needs to be specified what kind of bacon it is.
You made this WAAAY too complicated than it's supposed to be. Really, about two and a half minutes on how to make bread? BREAD! Also didn't need to overdo the mayo...
when Ben started talking about the croutons, I was half expecting him to whip out a FOURTH loaf of bread and make croutons haha
Wow, this looks amazing! Also, you two work really well together on camera, ye could totally have a show on telly doing this, it'd kick ass! Real, honest food that's entertaining as hell to watch being made😃
All through Australia the BLT has been modified to a BLAT... Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, and Tomato. It is amazing, avocado makes everything better
Avocado flesh mashed with cocoa powder is one of my favourite snacks ever!
I still remember this was the first video I watched and got hooked to cooking for this channel. To this day I use this recipe. One of the best BLT I made. And will make.
Another fantastic sandwich guys, heck yeah!
I come from the future, in April 2016, and Ben is still adding letters to that BLT (we still love them all).
There should be a food video curfew at like 10pm
seriously. it's 2 am right now and I'm absolutely starving from watching these.
+Michelle Armstrong currently watching at 4:42am 😧
+Michelle Armstrong currently watching at 4:42am 😧
Or have enough self control to not fucking watch a video
fat fucking bitch
Sketch'd why did you call me privileged?
My gosh. That looks astounding. I like to fancy myself somewhat creative with my food, but I'm liking the way y'all think unusually well here.
That looks awesome!
I love when you guys get to take a bite of the food creations. Very satisfying!
I'm a gonna get me some TLC with a BLT tomorrow I reckon
Wowzers no one has replied to this
Excellent! I love the dynamic between the two of you in this vid.
5:41 when Ben says "perfect" it sounds so American :o
No. I was born in England and spend 3/4 of my life there before moving to the states. The way Ben says perfect is with a south west accent. Reuben Sandwich!!
The home-made bread makes it spectacular enough!.....added perks like watercress and mozzarella make it divine!
"Sorry, how many have you done already?"
XD Can't. Stop. Laughing.
i just got done making this... it amazingly good!!! thank you guys for putting this one up :)
Yeah, well, I'm eating a bowl of ramen and today I got real crazy and put a slice of cheese in it. Your move, Sorted.
*cries*
Put an egg into chicken flavored ramen. It makes the chicken flavor infinitely better.
that looks so good. I'm a fan of the traditional lettuce crunch as well. I'm definitely going to have to make that bread. It looks perfect for dipping in a thick soup.
Can you do something interesting to egg salad sandwiches?
I personally enjoy foods with a small kick to them so I put cayenne pepper on mine :)
This is late, but I like finely minced red onion and either dill pickles or capers in my egg salad. Another thing that can be good is Granny Smith apple. And, of course, change up your dressing with spicy mustard or even salsa!
Bin them and make a nice sandwich 😂😂😂😂😂
Love the mustard cress! That so good on sandwiches!
Take a shot every time you hear "take it to a whole another level".
+James Spencer so only 2 shots then?
Looks like a dream come true!
Things I would do differently:
Roasted cherry tomatoes to intensify tomato flavours.
Roasted garlic in the bread
Multiple kinds of bacon...hickory smoked, maple, maybe panchetta?
this looks amazing, BLT's are my favorite but this really takes them to another level
If I could liquefy this and inject it directly into my veins, I totally would.
parts when Ben takes out somewhere almost done dishes are my favourite ones
i would make so many grilled cheeses with that bread..
i love watching these guys, I can be allergic to half the food but it's sheer entertainment value!!
"that's an oven" how did Ben even knOW???
I made this for my family, and we all loved it! The unique bread was especially well received.
I may not make my own bread but shove some avacado in with your Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and Mayo and you've got a winner.
Proud of my contribution for this one!! :D
+Bushyman477 Oh, and the lettuce, can't be a BLT without it
That was the best sandwich I have seen made ! It looks great yummy : ) thanks for sharing
That is possibly the most beautiful sandwich I have ever seen
You could do a Reuben Sandwich or a Lobster Roll with your own twist of course (:
Chelsea T Check out this one!
www.chefsteps.com/activities/one-reuben-to-rule-them-all
My BLT: toasted rye, aoli, roma tomato de-gutted and salted, romaine lettuce and peppercorn encrusted bacon, lidless. Yum!
How does Barry manage to stay so skinny with all this food?
Balanced diet... you're allowed to eat anything you like... providing its in moderation and you lead an active lifestyle.
because unlike girls they don't do retarded fad diets that destroy their metabolism over and over again
my ex-girlfriend used to have a very inactive life-style, smoke pot and eat lots of unhealthy food and she wasn't fat. Later on she did sports and an only protein diet and was really good in shape.
Your blender is so cute! And this looks amazing
"what other sandwiches should we make" ... how about a mexican torta ahogada :P(similar to a frech dip)
These episodes are getting better and better all the time!
Anyway, I counted 4 loaves of bread?
watching this at 12.30 AM is a bad idea.
Looks yum! We have our own version we call a Grilled cheese BALTO. You make bacon as crispy as possible in a pan. I hope everyone in the office really likes this bread. ;)
once again, i'm hungry! this looks like one of the tastiest sandwhiches ever!
that bread looks gorgeous! on another note, have you guys thought of opening your own restaurant?
That sandwich looks amazing and also very nice professionalism
I once asked an Italian who ran a family run sandwich bar (that had been around for generations) what his fav sandwich was and he said cream cheese, anchovy and onion. I thought he was joking but when I tried it my taste buds cried!! Don't know how best to jazz it up though. Any ideas?
+Steve Gould Some crushed capers would be my suggestion, that little briney taste would cut through the anchovy and onion, taking it to...
Good call!!!
@@SteveGouldinSpain pickles maybe?
YES! I also love the runny bit of the tomato!
How about runny yolk egg in it?
jensen tobey You made me LOL.. What would you add to that magnifique sandwich?
Hey, we have the same name!!! Im Tobey and im from indonesia
I once made my BLT plus mushroom omlette. Got a big wow :) another time with B and T in omlette, then L on top of it with English mustard and black peppered-garlic mayo
I've literally just eaten dinner and I'm already salivating at what is possibly the sexiest BBCLMTT out there ... >_>
"Sorry, how many have you done already?!" completely laugh at this part. :D
do a sorted twist on vietnamese banh mi :)
I had a sandwich recently with vinegar marinated cooked apple slices, brie, and apricot jam, all grilled and melted and amazing.
Well this sucks. I just wanted to make this bread, but now the website is down due to the release of the new one. Does anybody know how much flour is needed for the dough?
+kirbyfreak23 500g of flour, 300ml liquid, 1 sachet of dried yeast, pinch of salt and sugar. :D
+SORTED Food
Wow, that was very fast. Thanks you guys :D
that is the best looking sandwich anyone could ever see!!
I. am. so hungry. right now...
Lol Barry's "how many have you done already" face palm was freaking cute!!! I might have rewind that part more that the number of lofts shown on the show! Also yummmm that bread might be a bit of work but it looks so good!!!!
Fish finger sandwich :)
I would love to see some more things that you can do with those extra loves of bread. I am always stumped for ideas for that.

ive got the same kenwood mixer you used for the mayo, its realyl good for dicing onions to go in a sauce or in burgersr/meatballs
Banh mi, Cuban, Ruben, or Big Mac!
That has got to be the most amazing BLT sandwich I have seen.
Did the open grill behind Barry bother anyone else? Lol
Saw this video last night and it looked SO good I actually made a BLT today =) I just couldn't resist ...
I'm going to make this. I swear... I am going to make this. Good grief, I feel like I just watched a religious experience or something.
I love the way u say sorted
classic ploughmans? :)
That is the most glorious thing I've ever witnessed.
Vietnamese "banh mi" pls
A twist on the classic panini :) ! tried it and loved this blt !
Is it a British thing to cook bacon in the stove? I'm American and we ALWAYS do it in a pan on the stovetop and I don't know any of my friends who do it in the stove.
There's different ways of doing it... Neither is right or wrong I suppose!
***** who in the world uses oil to cook bacon?
lol wtf? How does using oil as opposed to using just a pan and bacon help those that are allergic to lactose???
Who uses butter? Who uses any kind of fat to cook bacon? I've never heard of or seen such a thing my entire life.
Kevin Theriault Me neither. I always thought the bacon grease was enough, but buttery bacon sounds good, lol.
How I fell in love with Sorted food^^
Because Barry didn't close the grill??!!
you shouldn't close the lid fully when grilling
He said that if you put the tomato in the dough too early that it will stop the yeast action, then after he puts the tomato he lets it rest AGAIN and it actually rises! Did the yeast forgot he put the tomato in or was that thing about the tomato stopping the yeast just bullshit?
I think that the tomato would ruin the initial proofing but the second one would be fine? I don't know.
by the time the bread is proving for the second time, the gluten has developed to the stage that the extra ingredients don't weigh it down. you usually find that any bread recipe with extra "big bits" adds them towards the end of the rising/proving time.
+Pauline Keet Cool
Your take on a primanti bros (pittsburgh,pa,usa)
sandwich!! Every time we visit can't leave without one!
THAT is pure food-porn. Looks incredibizzle. Yum!
My favorite is a classic Philly Steak Sandwich with pickled onions, beef and cheese. A version of that would I like to see. BLT looks amazing!
Iceberg lettuce ONLY for a blt/blat
I love watching you guys eat for some reason i have no idea of.
"Gotta have crispy bacon", say what? That's the soggiest bacon I have ever seen.
Looks so delicious!
That's not bacon :(
*its not american bacon.
Looks divine! =)
***** I'm American and people like mesahusa is the reason the world hates us.
HotShot227 Unfortunately.
Regardless, it is not bacon. Traditionally, bacon is cured and/or smoked pork belly, if it's a different type of pork product being labelled as bacon, it needs to be specified what kind of bacon it is.
Acura TL GTLM you're so full of shit, middle English definition of bacon: meat from the back and sides of a pig.
"How many did you make already?" totally made my day :D
I'm gonna a lot of breads myself :3
You waste time.Just slice the loaf in half and build the sandwich in that
Barry has the best reaction to Ben constantly pulling out prepped ingredients at 3:26 haha
I think your bacon is a little off...
I'm sooooo hungry now I could eat my table! Good job guys
You made this WAAAY too complicated than it's supposed to be. Really, about two and a half minutes on how to make bread? BREAD! Also didn't need to overdo the mayo...
But get this.... you don't have to make the bread. Make the recipe your own!
i love your kitchen so jelly
OMG, THAT LOOKS AMAZING!
I think I just fell in love... with a blt... and I'm completely 100% okay with it.
Ultimate PB&J. I'd love to see a twist on such a classic!
a great sandwich with lots of moisture that can be made when I haven't really woken up yet in the morning
You guys always make me hungry!
I wish i could just put my hand in the tablet and take one big bite of it! ^_^ looks yummm yummmm😋
Never fails to impress, great videos.
