My husband and I used to live in Seattle, and climbed on most of the volcanoes in the state, so seeing that amazing shot of St. Helens and Rainier was very fun. ALSO I had no idea the Pike Place Starbucks had expanded to be so huge! I will definitely check that out the next time we're over there. Your heart for homeless animals is beautiful to see. We too are out of control adopters (with currently one pit bull and seven cats!) We live in Eastern Washington now, so I can't give you any intel on SanFrancisco-area shelters. But I thought maybe telling you about our recent adoption experience might give you a little insight. We went to "SpokAnimal" in Spokane, and were positively blown away by the staff's passion for matching pets to owners. The dog that tugged at our heart had no experience with cats, so the volunteers took us to the 'cat trial room', which was cozy like a living room in any home. We spent time with the dog (who we did adopt and named "Lelo") and once she was a bit calmer and settled down, they brought in a cat (one they knew to be very calm and OK with dogs) so we could observe her reaction. It was successful, and Lelo has worked out quite well with our cat menagerie, but what also impressed us was how excited the volunteers were for Lelo, who they clearly also loved: every volunteer in the place was in that room with us, cheering Lelo on! We even received a follow-up call about a week after we brought her home, to see how things were going. A few months later we adopted a cat to give to my Mom after my Dad died, for companionship. We had the same brilliant experience, until my Mom had to have hip surgery and was so concerned about tripping over her kitty and breaking a bone that we had to either find a new home for him, or take him back to the shelter. We discovered how hard it is to find a home for an adult cat, and ultimately with Mom's surgery looming, had to give up the search and take him back. We felt so ashamed, no one in our family had EVER relinquished a pet in our collective lifetimes, but the circumstances were just that difficult. So being on the other side of the coin was a very new experience. To our surprise we received no judgement whatsoever from the staff - not only did they seem grateful that we didn't 'get rid of the kitty in some other unspeakable way (they've seen everything), but they expressed empathy for our predicament and assured us repeatedly that this gorgeous, lovable, healthy and friendly cat (not to mention talented, you could play catch with him, with a little ball of paper!) would be readily adopted! They engendered a great deal of trust, and we knew that no matter what, they would love him until his permanent home was found. This culture of 'no kill shelters' in Spokane is somewhat unique, I think. You should donate to an animal sanctuary of saved farmed animals. They usually get neglected and people tend to only help out dogs and cats. I can tell that you are a very compassionate person, it would be great if you could help out cows and pigs cause those poor animals are also in great need. Sasha farms is one of them!

the thing is, you're totally right about helping animals and as i read the comments everybody seems to be agreeing with you. But why doesn't anyone mention the animals that aren't pets but still harmless and living beings. It's just that nobody seems to care about pigs, cows or chickens even though i don't see the difference. They have a character and feelings as well but we eat them without thinking about it. would we eat a cat? most of us wouldn't. Why? Why cant we stop eating them if it causes so much harm, not only to them but the whole world? I'm sorry if someone feels offended by this, that wasn't my intention. I just couldn't keep this to myself right now...
Sean casey animal rescue is a tiny little rescue in brooklyn ny. Its my local rescue that takes in any animal. Ive seen baby ducks there, and they take in any dog. Every dog is walked multiple times a day by volunteers. No animal is ever euthanized there.
If ou were ever worried about your donated money going into the wrong hands you could always go to a local shelter and ask if there are any supplies they might need to help take care of the animals, Food, beds, cleaning and de-fleaing stuff. Then you could take the money you were going to donate and spend it on the items they need and donate the items so then you know they will definitely be used.
I've been volunteering at a humane society for about 3 months now and it's honestly the most fulfilling thing--- but I am so fortunate to have a shelter without those 5 day time constraints. Where I'm as soon as an animal is up for adoption, they stay until they get adopted. It isn't a no kill shelter- we do have to put down aggressive animals or animals who are too badly hurt to survive, but instead of putting animals down to make space, we have a huge web of fosters (some people come in to adopt and leave as fosters). It's amazing to work with all the animals and keep their cages clean and to watch all the adoptions as they happen. I'm so glad you plan on donating!! Tbh I don't know which shelters are the best when it comes to donating to

I would recommend Eden Animal Sanctuary. Spring Branch, TX. Turtle & Tortoise Rescue. We tend to think of the cute and furry creatures first but the poor turtles need love too. ♥ They only adopt to serious families who can provide what the turtles really need. Recently, they saved a large group of babies so I'm sure they could use the help.
In my opinion and according to my experience , som good n some bad, I would advice u to go by urself to ur nearest animal shelter and spend some quality time ( be it even 1 hr per week) . That way u can closely observe how the staff really is n how the owner really is? Do not tell them that u want to donate ur money to them. This thing really helps. This is ur hard earned money. Instead of relying on people , u should find it on ur own. You never know who is genuine or who is not unless u see dem on ur own. I hope this helps! :)
I don't know of any off the top of my head, but maybe look into a rescue for elderly animals? They are often forgotten in their time of greatest need, when vet expenses are usually the highest.
I think you should try and give to any shelter you feel is needing of it or can actually use it. I love animals so much and I feel so bad for them and what they can go through. I've actually heard from animal shelters that they won't guarantee that my money will go to the causes I want so I was looking through other options and YouCaring raises funds by crowdfunding through the internet. Not being able to see what they do has made it difficult for me to decide if I should donate, but they have a lot of success stories. Btw I love you so so much and I am definitely going to buy a second print, I just have to choose one because they are ALL gorgeous. Good luck!
You should check out MARS (Midwest Animal Rescue Shelter) they save dogs and cats from humane societies across the country and they take care of the animals until they get adopted. The volunteers there play with them take them on walks and even foster them until they get adopted. I'm a volunteer there and I have fostered over 15 dogs and cats and they all found loving homes. I also adopted both of my dogs from there. I would strongly recommend donating!!
I dont know of any for you but i just wanted to say that i really love that you're doing this. I love animals so much and its so sad that a lot of them dont get adopted and stuff.
I really like Street Cats in Tulsa Oklahoma. They are a no kill Shelter that does a great job getting cats adopted and working with other local shelters in the city so that if people don't find the cat they are looking for at Street cats they try to recommend other places to adopt as well and if a shelter is having problems getting a cat adopted Street cats will take them in. Also love how much effort they put into the adoption profiles of all the cats they are trying to help you can tell they really care for the animals and want them to go to good permanent homes.
The Dodo might be able to help you find a way to donate to specific animals, or at least really good shelters. Maybe they could even work with you somehow. Your intentions are so amazing and I usually seem to like their message. They have a huge blog and they are always letting people know about these animal rescue teams you can donate to.
Maybe even they could point you in the direction of those charities of animals that need adopted and you could paint a portrait of the animals (or specific one's that inspire you) that kind of shows their strength and uniqueness to help them get adopted.
SPCA is a good one in me own opinion. I've volunteered at one before and from what I can tell they're outstanding. That's a wonderful thing to do Happy! And I missed your vlogs. x 😊

You're right! In Slovenian, the J makes a Y sound! I'm not Slovenian but I am from around the same region and my language has the same rule. We don't have a Y our language just uses the J instead. Example: my name is Jasmina but sounds like Yasmina :)
Are you looking for somthing in your area or it doesn't matter? In south Texas there is a no kill shelter with various types of animals. Its called yaqui animal rescue they have a facebook page if your interested, I know they struggle since it seems they always try to help every animal they come across.
I know how you feel. I rescue abuse german shepherd dogs with a resuce and sanctuary. That I retrain them to love humans again and take in bad cases like if it's a broke leg and the family can't handle this massive dog alone. I suggest looking for places take small amount of animals and specialize in taking care or their needs to lend a hand. Even dog or cat sitting/foostering is wonderful, to help out a family or a resuce. Try to find a local, you'll be surprised how many you got around you. Learn about them and give money if you wish to do that. A lot of rescuse dont have artists making them logos to make bussiness cards to expand. I made a logo for the resuce I help run and it had helped a lot make them to look professional and give more awareness. I wouldnt do it for free but a discount or at price, which ever you choose.
Sean with the good dog training in LA. Its not a shelter its a dog training organization. They have helped man familys with training and obedience. For example they train the dog to stop barking so the family doesnt get evicted. Or training an agressive dog that has bite history and wont get put down.
I suggest hope for paws and vet ranch they both have TH-cam channels and both really care for animals. Either one will be a good investment but vet ranch shows a lot graphic than hope for paws but both made me cry for what happen to animals and they both give me hope for any stray animal.
You could do a live stream, a bit like what Baylee Jae did... I'm from the UK, so I can't really suggest a charity... Unless you donated to the RSPCA (which both resuces animals, finds homes, and provides vet care and help here in the UK)...

Goats of anarchy are amazing, one of the few charities I've found are worth donating to! They put up a lot of the work they do on Instagram, you should check them out there :)
You should look at Rescue Express. They have a website rescue express (dot) org . They transport animals from high kill shelters and overpopulated areas like Los Angeles to rescue groups in the Pacific Northwest. Their first "freedom ride" was in 2015 and their website says the have rescued about 5000 animals a year, so they are still getting off the ground. Their ideals seem to mesh well with your story, trying to give animals that extra time to find their forever home. Anyways, I hope you check it out and I love your work and the vlogs!

Hi Happy! I know of a rescue that is in desperate need of donations. The woman who runs it is on the verge of having to close up shop because she isn't receiving enough donations. I personally know her and she takes excellent care of the animals she fosters! I know it isn't a big organization but it is a quality one that is 100% in it to help the animals. Maybe give donations to vegan associations which help animals ? Not only cats and dogs but also farmed animals who get neglected too even though people don't seem to care that much :(

You should check out MARS (Midwest Animal Rescue Shelter) they save dogs and cats from humane societies across the country and they take care of the animals until they get adopted. The volunteers there play with them take them on walks and even foster them until they get adopted. I'm a volunteer there and I have fostered over 15 dogs and cats and they all found loving homes. I also adopted both of my dogs from there. I would strongly recommend donating!!
I dont know of any for you but i just wanted to say that i really love that you're doing this. I love animals so much and its so sad that a lot of them dont get adopted and stuff.
I really like Street Cats in Tulsa Oklahoma. They are a no kill Shelter that does a great job getting cats adopted and working with other local shelters in the city so that if people don't find the cat they are looking for at Street cats they try to recommend other places to adopt as well and if a shelter is having problems getting a cat adopted Street cats will take them in. Also love how much effort they put into the adoption profiles of all the cats they are trying to help you can tell they really care for the animals and want them to go to good permanent homes.
The Dodo might be able to help you find a way to donate to specific animals, or at least really good shelters. Maybe they could even work with you somehow. Your intentions are so amazing and I usually seem to like their message. They have a huge blog and they are always letting people know about these animal rescue teams you can donate to.
Maybe even they could point you in the direction of those charities of animals that need adopted and you could paint a portrait of the animals (or specific one's that inspire you) that kind of shows their strength and uniqueness to help them get adopted.
SPCA is a good one in me own opinion. I've volunteered at one before and from what I can tell they're outstanding. That's a wonderful thing to do Happy! And I missed your vlogs. x 😊

Best Friends Animal Society is a really great shelter all around the nation. They helped some fighting dogs become great pets and they take cats too.
Watermelon ranch in New Mexico is a no kill shelter and they are Fantaztic!

You're right! In Slovenian, the J makes a Y sound! I'm not Slovenian but I am from around the same region and my language has the same rule. We don't have a Y our language just uses the J instead. Example: my name is Jasmina but sounds like Yasmina :)

Are you looking for somthing in your area or it doesn't matter? In south Texas there is a no kill shelter with various types of animals. Its called yaqui animal rescue they have a facebook page if your interested, I know they struggle since it seems they always try to help every animal they come across.
I know how you feel. I rescue abuse german shepherd dogs with a resuce and sanctuary. That I retrain them to love humans again and take in bad cases like if it's a broke leg and the family can't handle this massive dog alone.
I suggest looking for places take small amount of animals and specialize in taking care or their needs to lend a hand. Even dog or cat sitting/foostering is wonderful, to help out a family or a resuce. Try to find a local, you'll be surprised how many you got around you. Learn about them and give money if you wish to do that.
A lot of rescuse dont have artists making them logos to make bussiness cards to expand. I made a logo for the resuce I help run and it had helped a lot make them to look professional and give more awareness. I wouldnt do it for free but a discount or at price, which ever you choose.

Sean with the good dog training in LA. Its not a shelter its a dog training organization. They have helped man familys with training and obedience. For example they train the dog to stop barking so the family doesnt get evicted. Or training an agressive dog that has bite history and wont get put down.
Or a boxer foundation. Many are born deaf and for that reason they are abandoned. Dalmations are also commonly born deaf

I suggest hope for paws and vet ranch they both have TH-cam channels and both really care for animals. Either one will be a good investment but vet ranch shows a lot graphic than hope for paws but both made me cry for what happen to animals and they both give me hope for any stray animal.
You could do a live stream, a bit like what Baylee Jae did... I'm from the UK, so I can't really suggest a charity... Unless you donated to the RSPCA (which both resuces animals, finds homes, and provides vet care and help here in the UK)...

This is so beautiful, I wish I could help you but I don't live in the US, I live in Slovenia like Monika, there are many of us watching you :D I actually think this kind of thing is prohibited in Slovenia, I adopted a kitten at a local shelter just a few weeks ago and they said they don't put to sleep any of the animals, but I have heard they do after 30 days so I am not sure about their statement :/

Goats of anarchy are amazing, one of the few charities I've found are worth donating to! They put up a lot of the work they do on Instagram, you should check them out there :)
You should look at Rescue Express. They have a website rescue express (dot) org . They transport animals from high kill shelters and overpopulated areas like Los Angeles to rescue groups in the Pacific Northwest. Their first "freedom ride" was in 2015 and their website says the have rescued about 5000 animals a year, so they are still getting off the ground. Their ideals seem to mesh well with your story, trying to give animals that extra time to find their forever home. Anyways, I hope you check it out and I love your work and the vlogs!

Hi Happy! I know of a rescue that is in desperate need of donations. The woman who runs it is on the verge of having to close up shop because she isn't receiving enough donations. I personally know her and she takes excellent care of the animals she fosters! I know it isn't a big organization but it is a quality one that is 100% in it to help the animals. So if you or anyone reading this would like to help her out, it would be beyond awesome! I really would hate to see her close because of lack of help.
