- Finally back from my hiatus!! In todays video we are going to be looking back at some of the groups that debuted in the last two years. “Discovering 4th Gen KPOP” I will be making a boys edition plus another girl group edition with other debuts. So if you can be so kind to recommend me both BGs and GGs I would greatly appreciate it!

What’s your favorite debut thus far??
LESSERAFIM FEARLESS!! It goes so hard yet it’s more laidback and effortless. Though, they put SO much effort into this debut like oh my god.. Lesserafim also no longer has 6 members as they did when they debuted. They are now five. There’s a whole situation that explains why, but you just got here and I don’t feel like typing it all out lmao😭

Funny enough, Nmixx has recently come out with two new versions of O.O called Baila ver. and Superhero ver. where they extended the contrasting parts of the song. You should check them out along with Nmixx’s other songs!
antifragile is definitely my favorite kpop song right now. Just that amazing blend of Reggaeton and kpop has me hooked lol.

22:20 that's Huh Yunjin (Main Vocalist) who was also in the survival show Produce 48 where Izone was formed. But unfortunately she was eliminated.
Yeah for debut Song it has to be Newjeans for me too.
But considering everything, Le sserafim became my favourite gg. They just have almost everything. Insane stage presence, discography, choreography.
You should really check out 1.Antifragile (Mv since u heard the song, probably their best song and personally for me it was song of the year 2022)

3. Eve, Psyche and Blue beard's wife ( this b-track went viral. I recommend watching the performance rather than choreo since the choreo is the BEST. They litterly do a MJ move.)

And their popularity boosted up for their end of the year performances of last year. You should definitely check out their MMA 2022 performance (considered as one of the best performances from last year). And to dive further, they have a Debut documentary consisting 4 episodes. And yeah they lost a member called Kim Garam after their Fearless song.
I actually cheated and checked out that live performance you recommend, and the choreography was insane 🔥🔥 definitely boosted them up to the top of my list

New Jeans had the strongest debut impact. Although he had a very strong debut.........In 2022, Ive's Love Dive became a mega hit and won Song of the Year.
But........it can be said that New Jeans is more popular now. Ditto and OMG gained enormous popularity in early 2023, and all the songs on their recently released album were loved and known all over the world, greatly increasing the popularity of New Jeans. Although their domestic popularity is almost the same, New Jeans has more global fans. How can you not love such cute friends?
Nmix's Love Me Like This....Listen to Le Seraphim and Ive's other songs. You will like it much more.
nmixx were considered to have an ugly debut but little by little they gained the public's affection. The one you like is Jinni and she left the group. I recommend their song that made them more popular, ' love me like this'.
About music industry domination, currently probably it's Newjeans. But Ive, Le sserafim and Newjeans are three top gg for sure. It's hard to rank them. Newjeans has the most general public favourite songs (everyone like their songs), Ive dominates local charts well with every songs (won daesang last year) and Le sserafim has the most solid fanbase I think with most selling albums and international very popular (their discography is fire). So I find it very hard to rank them.
And About Nmixx, their songs are not everyone's taste. But when it comes to most talented gg, you have to consider them. If you watch their dance practice videos you will understand what I said.
NewJeans is consistent tho' they have the song with the most days and weeks spent on the #1(Ditto) and top 10(HypeBoy) melon charts while being the first kpop girl group in history(4th girl group in the world)to chart 3 song on their album simultaneously on Billboard hot 100 while also having the highest album sales in a single calendar year also they are the only and first ever 4th gen group to enter the top10 of top50 daily charts on Spotify and having the most charted streams on US for a 4th gen and having the most charted stream(Ditto)ever by a kpop girl group in Japan, I'm too lazy to write their endless achievements but I hope u get the point that the competition against the 3 is not that close
@@carljohnson914 It terms of records, New Jeans and IVE are an par with each other. IVE actually has the upper hand in official achievements due to greater awards and local domination. Popularity and global feats New Jeans blow everybody else out of the park. Le Seraphim, while not as successful as the two, are very close and respected runner ups. There is competition, youre just giving it very linear thinking and only looking at one area of an entire spectrum.
Hype boy chorus completely shook Korea and the industry.

Jang Wonyoung 4:52 4 Gen. IT GIRL. She is really talented. She wrote Dreamlike, MINE, shine With Me, OTT songs. She has SO MANY advertising contracts, leading programs and shows. She doesn't have so many lines in songs and she isn't "favourite". People just hate her for her popularity and success. She is the most reaches aidol in 4 gen. her 19 years old. The Ultimate IDOL Jang WONYOUNG. Cutie, kind, beauty , hardworking girl...
Because she very pretty and fit into SK beauty. Her vocal technique is average or mediocre. You you cannot judge he vocal technique, maybe you are biased or you don't know about vocal technique or music in general.

@@anistardiI think she proved herself to be a vocalist already, considering her improvement form debut to now. Her tone is very unique (pronunciation as well).
But yeah, her main charms are her visuals and stage presence. Her work ethic is amazing though, a very hard working and polite woman.
@@milkyuuu6170 The voice tone is subjective, but the vocal technique is objective. The minimum standard of vocal technique in kpop is low. On average, the contestant of "the voice kid" in my country has better vocal technique.
newjeans is definitely one of those groups that comes once in a generation. Rookie Monster and all their songs are bangers. They're pretty young but they're also really talented and everything from the music, the choreo and the mvs is really good. Love them.
until their new songs... i listen to them for 1st week, then forgot about em, but their debut up to ditto are bangers... maybe super shy, but the other ones.. nah... its just been carried by their popularity.. as for ive, their latest comeback is a meh too.. sorry annyoungz 😭 but debut up to kitch/i am are great, nmixx songs are getting better, as for fimmies, their consistent.. hoping theyll have an epic comeback this late oct or early nov too...
@@copfer99 I actually think ETA, super Shy, Cool with You and ASAP are some of their best. So I completely disagree. For IVE's, Off the records and Either Way are pretty good.

22:20 thats Yunjin, shes actually american. she already has a few solo songs which is really cool, and she was an opera singer in lile high school. shes very talented. le sserafim is another group where a member left, Garam. she was only part of their debut and never even experienced a comeback 😕 even after she was proven innocent anmfter bullying allegations. sakura and chaewon are both from iz*one
15:38 sadly that member, Jinni /Jini left the group BUT shes about to debut as a solo artist. her name was originally spelled as Jinni but im guessing due to legal reasons, its Jini now. im very much looking forward to her debut

Out of the four groups, IVE has won the most awards at the awards ceremony.
their second single 'LOVE DIVE' was a huge hit and won the Song of the Year award🏆
they also won Best Dance Performace Female Group and Best New Female Artist.
recently, IVE won the Female Idol award at The 2023 Brand of the Year Awards, and leader Yujin also won the Female Variety Idol.
I definitely have to checkout their comeback, from what I heard it’s really good!

IVE released their 1st full album '' I've IVE'' in April of this year, which contains 11 songs.
IVE will release the MV for their new song "Either way" on the 25th of this month.
the second title song, “Off the Record”, will be release on October 6th.

I think one of the reasons you might not be connecting with New Jeans is because performance videos don't highlight the members like the actual music videos do. You should watch all their other M/V's.
You should definitely check out more of these groups!! All of them are technically the 2nd/last wave of 4th gen monster rookies.
IVE - I'd definitely recommend Love Dive and I AM (my personal 2023 SOTY). Afterlike and Kitsch are other amazing songs from them and they are also releasing 3 title tracks for their next comeback.(the first one - Either Way is already out ,which has a bit different vibe)
LE SSERAFIM - Them and IVE are my ult ggs at the moment(Im a wizone lol). Definitely recommending the Antifragile mv as well as Unforgiven and Eve,Pysche and the Bluebeard's Wife.
NewJeans- Despite my ults being IVE and LSF, Hype Boys is for sure my favorite debut song among them. NewJeans put out very digestible music and you should definitely check out more of them!
NMIXX - Their music is not for everyone but it has gotten ways better after their debut. They also have the most talented lineup imo. Their vocal line is unmatched and their live vocals are INSANE.
You need to check out antifragile from le sserafim. Absolute bop!

nmixx actually performed o.o without the middle part recently (and they made the middle part into their own song)
NMIXX’s “worst debut” (I put quotations because I actually loved O.O) ended up benefitting them. It was such a shock factor to the point that everyone anticipated their next comeback, which was really good by general public standards and then they kept doing what they do and everyone just forgot O.O ever existed.
There point of nmixx is too ‘mix the song up’ hence the name n MIXX. In all honesty I didn’t like o.o at first but tbh it grew on me. Glad you liked the song more at the end😊

GOT7 haven't disbanded! They even released an EP last year as a whole group under Warner Music lol
EDIT: The EP is self-titled and called "GOT7", they promoted it in May 2022, 1.5 years after leaving JYPE. You might not know about it since you were out of loop based on what you said in this video :)
For me what made O.O awkward to hear was the massive pause between style to style, in the studio version this pause doesn't exist and it makes the song awesome (to me), Dice is the second single that has this change up and I love it but is not for everyone i guess.

Love all these groups! But although not technically kpop the girl group that rules them all for me is XG and i think they will take over with how diverse and versatile they are.
@@user-mp1vy8jh8e what defines who is kpop is very scrutinized in the community from the likes of but not limited to ethnicity, song languages, industry practice and promotion, home base etc. they are an all japanese girl group (yes im aware of hinata ethnicity) based in korea whos original song releases are english. in my opinion they are kpop however their ceo (ex kpop idol from dmtn) simon jakops said they were not kpop nor wanted to label them as jpop either because he feels it doesnt encompass their full goal and what they think their music is, which is global music for lack of better phrase. Im very well aware of the history of XG no need to educate me on them. They do it well.

Not only was "O.O" dubbed the worst debut, but it was also the worst song of all time. I didn't dislike it like the others, but I also don't like it. Their first comeback, "DICE," follows a similar formula to "O.O" with the change up, but they ditched it totally or made it less severe this year with their comebacks ("Love Me Like This" and "Party O'Clock"), which, of course, people are more tolerant of.

Ive's debut for me was...meh. Absolutely hated O.O. by NMIXX. Loved Le Sserafim's debut. I liked newJeans debut, but newJeans has seriously grown on me to become, probably, my favorite gg in the 4th generation. I now like NMIXX, but that's because their newer stuff is so much better then their original songs.
ATTENTION by newjeans is superior
some groups to check out:
p1harmony - they debuted near the end of 2020. their music is so good if u like bangers, rap, and also a bit of rnb (?)
they debuted with Siren if you want to start chronologically.
enhypen- they debuted just before p1harmony (i think like a month) with the song Given-taken. their whole concept is vampires so dont be surprised to se me it throughout their discography. theyre under hybe.
txt- theyre also under hybe and debut in 2019 with Crown. im not sure if you've seen them before, I'll have to check but I'll write this for now. they recently released a song collabing with anitta who i saw you've reacted to. they have a range of genres, beginning with pop, rock, rnb and others but idk them because im not that educated with it.
xg- this group is different because they are all Japanese members, singing in english but based in s.korea so om not sure if theyre kpop or what. but they are a really talented group that debuted with Mascara. my personal favs are Shooting star and GRL GVNG (read as girl gang)
