It had to be either about Enty or the starter destroyers. You couldn't have both at the same time, because it's the exact same mistake Kantai Collection did. You either flesh the story or go full comfy. If you go halfassedly at both, neither gets done well.
The problem with an anime is that everyone wants their favorite character to be the MC (or at least get lots of screen time), so only the Enty fans will be satisfied.
TBH Crosswave wasn't bad, but it felt like half a game. The story mode dragged on and might as well not have existed, and they needed to go bigger for "boss" type encounters. There simply wasn't enough variety.
Once Operation Siren finishes its story, they really should try to reboot an anime version considering all main events AND the Commander, even if they are just there. I think they have potential for an interesting storyline

I think Richie's scene would work better if she was climbing out of the burnt ruins of Cathédrale Notre Dame, and it could be played as a bid to avenge the lost pride of Holy France after the Sirens attacked.
Three amazing things about this video: 1.- the animation of the video with the same Slow Ahead studios (Candy box Studios) 2.- the characters implemented including Peter Stasser who has that aura of Kurumi from Date a Live 3.- The musical theme, this year it was the turn of what for me is the best Japanese singer of the era, Konomi Suzuki, a tremendous theme
Enty paired with Kaga and Bismarck along side Hood, it's moments like these that I love the different takes on the world since there is a high likelihood the characters have memories of the past, they remember what they did to eachother, but they go past that to fight a brighter future
it's a shame there isn't Akagi, but otherwise the animation is gorgeous. The music is really good and the dynamism of the characters is very beautiful. I also loved the scene where Kaga and Enterprise work together :D
Enterprise truly is the protagonist of Azur Lane. Her struggle to avoid the doomed future is one worthy of an MC and I cannot see any other ship fitting her place.
