Watch jewels, sometimes known as jewel bearings, are tiny pieces of synthetic ruby or sapphire set into holes within a watch movement. These gems primarily help to reduce friction and provide a hard, smooth surface to allow metal components such as the wheel train to rotate freely. This movement has 27 of them.
The DD 18238 is an awesome watch. However for me I fell in love with the DJ. I like the cleaner dial of just having the date. Both are amazing and if Rolex had not made a DJ I would have gone for the DD. Good luck in whatever one you choose.
I just acquired my 16018
Congratulations on your pick up of an awesome timepiece. This one is a true classic.
Lovin it❤
hey, this is still my fav gold rolex video! What omega model and year is that?
Thank you. The Omega is a geneve. I do not have the model number or year. My best guest would be early 1970s.
Beautiful watch
What does the “27 jewels” defines? Where does it refer to?

how much does one with a gold bracelet cost on average
All the ones I have come across have been over $5000 CAD.
The 16018 is literally my favorite watch, I'm looking for 1 for a good price now
You have great taste. I hope you find an awesome one. I truly love this watch.
@@collectorofallthings9123 DO you know that did Rolex release the References 16018 with a leather strap? Please let me know. Thanks
I am hunting for one but I sometimes feel I should just go for a DD (18238). You?
