Thanks for the channel. My dad was in WW2 landed in Italy. His brother was fighting on a warship in the pacific, sister was a nurse in France and Germany. Triplets all came back safe and had huge family's. I was the last of 8. God Bless anyone from WW2 . Love old movies about the horrific war.
You are 100% correct about the 1000 aircraft raids, but it WAS RAF Bomber Command that did it first and NOT the USAAF, they did it much later than we, the RAF, did it. This is a great film, but it is not historically correct or accurate with some of the scenes in which the RAF are represented.
@@joebudi5136 Absolutely, the Allied forces, no matter their country or size of their commitment to the Allied Forces eventual victory over the Axis powers.
@@allandavis8201 I am pretty sure the 8th did not have a 1000 B-17s in the air until 1944. Now they did have B24's as well but I doubt we got over a thousand total until early 44.
The U.S.A.A.F. did carry out one “Thousand bomber” raid, in March 1945 a force of over 1100 bombers and around 700 escorting fighters carried out a daylight raid on Berlin.
An actual "Movie of the week", look up that term from the late 60's and 70's this was an CBS made one, I think, , I remember it from my child hood watching it on my black& white T.V.
Since I Myself AM a Ground Forces Gun Guy from the Marine Corps and Army, I mostly watch the War Movies concentrating on Infantry and Special Operations Forces ( SOF) - centric Tactical Themes, however, every now and then, comes along a damn good War Movie , featuring Air Force and Naval Warfare, and This Movie, starring Christopher George, is one of Them. 🇺🇸🇺🇲🦅🌎⚓🪖💣💥🔥🇺🇸🇺🇲

Pretty good aerial affects for 1969. Much better movie than I expected.
Better than I expected as well. I bet in the theater in 1969 it looked great.
@@joebudi5136 They certainly didn't do much if any homework on the subject matter and it was definitely Hollywood and not history.
@@joebudi5136. I saw it in the theater and it was good. Great popcorn movie.

Thx for sharing this film of Operation Milenium, people will say that such heroic past feats as these were not true, but oh so true they were

Some scenes were taken from The Last Bomb 1945, and 633 Squadron.
They did that with a lot of war movies back in the fifties and sixties.

The 1000 plan, by Harris, was a British initiative.
Can’t be all bad. Gavin McLeod and Katey Sagal’s dad are in it.
Thw plane crew sergeant was an E-8??

What was Lr. Gabby supposed to be doing ?
Sucking on his lollipop - per the subtitles
The german fighter planes never had guns like those shown.
Love how the Yanks talk about daylight precision bombing, then decide they need 1,000 planes to hit one factory.
That's a great observation 😂
