There are so many breeders in Bosnia who keep their birds in small cages, feeding them only with seed diet without any calcium sources and doing it until female dies and then they're like "I don't know what happened to her, she just died"
My female died... she layed an egg before she died. The reason? Turns out the man giving me the bugie lied to me. Turns out she's 7 years old not 3 and the bugie died because of...yeah.
I have three budgies. My older two looked like they we're going to breed closer to the end of last year so I got them a box just in case I didn't want her to lay (if she did) anywhere else. I got a 2 and a half month old budgie a bit before Christmas and my female took to "mothering" him instead of producing her own baby. Its super cute to watch the three. My older male kinda just vibes and sings all say while my female and her adopted child sleep lol.
Thank you for calling this out! There's so much that can go wrong. I can understand the wish to have your own little budgie babys, but this is something that definitely belongs in the hands of experts.
My female and male mated, my female normally sat on the eggs one was fertile... The male started sitting on the eggs after 2-3 days he passed away :( idk why it happen r.i.p sunny
There is a parrot crisis, people mass breed budgies because they are easy to breed and sell. Also I don’t support big chain pet sites like PetCo, and PetSmart, they get their budgies and animals from bad breeder mills. It’s disgusting🤢
@@autocorrect1996 As long as you give him/her a great life! Like big cage, lots of Proper shredding+foraging toys, natural perches lots of our time proper diet ect, it’s fine.
The way to stop breeding is not provide a nest or remove the nest as soon as all the chicks are able to be outside the nest. They may decide that an open draw is a good spot, so you have to remove all tempting nesting places in the flight room. Patting down the bottom of the back sexually stimulates them, so this is better to avoid. Two females, particularly sisters, may fight for the same nest even if another is available, so physically separate females if intending to breed. Ones clutch in spring and another in autumn is the recommended maximum breeding amount. If you live in a place with a hot summer climate, the mother will abandon the newly hatched chicks when it's too hot so don't encourage breeding at these times. Parents with chicks need a little boiled egg and a big variety of green leaves and seeds for their diet. Avoid all sweet fruit and root vegetables particularly at these times to stop the chicks developing sweet beaks and metabolic diseases later in life. Baby budgies are an absolute miracle...so so special... and so noisy for their size.

You are too worried. Yes, sibling or close budgies is a no go, but having babies 3× in one season is not a problem, for breeding the budgies you should give them an egg shell - bread crumbs - hard boiled egg - carrot mix. With that, they have a lot of minerals and nutrients. Don't take this as a hate, but as advice. In general i really like your videos.
