it's magical how the second butterfly grows out of the paper. Very beautiful.
I thought that I was absolutely terrible at art and that I would never get better untill i found your channel! This video was the most helpful so far!!! :))))
Thank you so much! I'm trying to learn how to color, I almost exclusively draw in only black and white lmao. This is genuinely more helpful than any other tutorial I've watched, and you explain everything so well :D
Exactly the same case for me aswell....i normally just do shading but am thinking of learning to draw more....let's say color full
You are brilliant at explaining the process. Love your work.
Thank you Gemma for your many helpful and fun videos!
Thank you for doing videos like this, it's really helpful and soothing
Thank you for all the very informative videos you created
Good tip on the burnishing. Using appropriate colour.👍❤️
Organised and much clear.thanks
Thank you so much 4th video trying to learn how to color and putting less pigment on paper really clicked finally. Thank you
Great tutorial!!! Thank you so much!
Love your techniques. Thank you so much
Thanks I’m coloring again it’s a good sample to teach. The Don’t was good for us who just color for fun. Good tips
Great advice! Thanks
You’re an amazing artist. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you so much!

I APPRECIATE ALL Ypu ARE TEACHING US..THANKS..👏😁🙏🤟
Thank you!😁
Awesome demonstration. I always draw on copy paper. I will have to draw with the proper art paper.
Gorgeous
You are awesome! ♥️
I like your colouring
Thanks
Ps. Your skin tone, hair color, and blush are perfect with your outfit color choices!
thank you for this video! this was very helpful. and i know you said NOT to do certain things on the 'dont' section of this video, but i actually kind of like that messy style and might purposefully try a few of those things as well as the 'dos', so thanks for showing both!
I agree, in some cases the 'messy style' looks cool. It kind of gives the artwork a different "personality". I don't know how to explain properly.
Underrated
If the thumbnail is taken to reference to whats good and bad... Im somewhere in between.y first pencil colour drawing was a butterfly, the first wing was done miserably, I did a little better in second wing. And improved overtime.
Love the short tutorials.
Would you say there's any benefit in using a burnishing pencil as opposed to the lightest colour?
Good question!
Is it just me who finds I have more control over the pencil when it’s blunted everytime I have a sharpe pencil I just find it so hard to control and get my pressure right but when I have a blunted pencil I find it so much easier everytime I sharpen my pencil I press the tip down so it’s not sharp before I start using it
I'm the other way round
@@lynnval33same! 😂
How does one decide which color to use for the base-layer/undertone?
Thanks for thise advice. You are a good artist and a pretty plus size lady.

What's the background music? Can you add what music you've used, please? I really quite like it. Very nice and relaxing, but I can't exactly hear it very well since it's 'background music'. I'd like to visit the song made by the artist, but I don't know anything about it, ahha. Thank you!!
Hi… your Bristol board, is that the same as Strathmore Bristol Smooth finish that is being used for graphite drawing? Cover is yellow. Would that be good for Prismacolor soft core colored pencils as well or this is more for Polychromos. I just bought Strathmore for colored pencils (brown cover). Buying the right paper is very confusing. Pls advise and thanks.
I think Bristol Velum is better for colour pencils, it has more tooth than their smooth paper. I use either Bristol Velum or a sanded paper like Pastelmat or Uart.
😊
What kind of sharpener are you using?
I generally use the Swordfish pencil sharpener - you'll find a link to the specific one I use in the video description :)
@@GemmaChambersArt Awesome ty!
Spanish subtitles 🙏💞
It would have been so much more helpful for some of us that are fairly new to this, if you had done at least a bit of the pencil work in slow-motion, so we can watch your hand, the way that your pencil was on the paper and the pencil..
Use a color pencil blender…. It’s like a clear marker but it’s just for blending pencils
I can confirm, cheap or sub 50$ pencils just don't blend. They only push back the base color or barely go together.
This is not a good video, in mind. You make a lot of choices that you don't explain. 👎
Thanks
