I got tons of knowledge from your videos, very appreciate. I have some experience to fix this type of issue, the red wire, and the white wire at the terminal board, compose of the communication lines between indoor and outdoor, they should have PWM signals when setting at DC voltage. There is an open circuit at the implanted power switch on the board, check DC voltage at the power switch and trace the PCB, you should find a component "O.L.", you may check a few resistors, diodes and a Voltage Regulator in the loop.
I just installed a 2 ton Fijitsu mini-split last weekend, and was literally praying I would not have to trouble shoot it till I got done watch'n this video!
Hey Chris, mini splits are only as hard as you make them!!!! Always remember if you get stuck on one you can always call the manufacturer, as a matter of fact they want you to call them. Thanks for watching

I think the problem on the board is ZD 652, there is a cold soldering you can see that the print is dark around the soldering , maybe changing zener diode and / or soldering it again

This is super helpful thanks. I broke the CN3 (RT64 thermistor) wire on the power board with the capacitors on it. What's the best way to change that board out? Do I have to remove this front board first? Thank you.

I really wanted to get a video on the first control board I installed but by the time I got there to do the job it was dark and I had to install it by using a flash light. I was bummed out because I didn't get to film it. So this video does prove they do break and you might come across one. Thanks for watching, I'm glad I could help
I just had an hvac contractor quote me $645. labor to replace the circuit board on a Mitsubishi mini-split outdoor unit!
Betcha that extra silicone blob on the new board is to keep the part from vibrating and breaking a leg due to fatigue.

we get lots of power issues surges outages and I do lots of boards still customers don't want surge protectors go figure what about there?
Just add them in your price. Customer don’t know what they want sometimes

Those noises just after power-on were self-test. Sounded like it was poking the motors with short pulses.
2 boards in one month? Wow, how much do these boards cost and what is the average labor cost to perform the repair if not covered by the warranty? Is this a common problem and if not what do you think is causing this frequent failure of the control board thank you in advance!
Hi guys, the noises on power up are the exv( electronic expansion valves ) opening.E6 fault? He'll there are so many things that can fail, the c&n 801 pink plug should have 325- - dc .Then the fuse f64 behind the front if blow would mean the power board has failed. Near this fuse are white resistors 10 ohms 5w . Make sure you check them and again the left power board would fail these.On the power board with three blue caps- red probe to n and black to p(yes) power off there should be hi resistance in k ohms and between u v w, not low ohms.Check those exv ,s are not corroded on valve stems- it will blow out resistors where they plug in.If a exv fails and no spares 2 curved magnets will open it turned like a tap. C/w shut and cc/w openHope I've helped somebody .Roy in nz
So why exactly would the corrosion on the exp valve cause it to blow the resistors.
Are these resistors controlling the exp valves or is the valve remaining shut and causing high pressure on the compressor and therefore overloading the drive circuitry that the resistors are part of?

you will die when you see how big the building is. I've got a video on the building, I was driving by it one day. I might check on going to the M&P class myself as a refresher as a diamond contractor they give us one class a year for free.

why does the AC control board damaged so easily, is it due to surge?
I so do not like circuit boards. They're always way too expensive. The companies go out of business or the company changes to a different board or stops making that board or every electric issue causes a problem and you can't get anywhere with the utility company or you have to call a 1-800 number for technical assistance and after an hour of fustration talking to some guy in india decifering his english you get nowhere. Why do you need them. I've come across older AC systems on restaurants that have obsolete circuit boards, I removed them and installed a compressor contactor, a blower contactor a time delay a 24v transformer and a new thermostat...easy...strong and works long term like a refrigeration system and I didn't have to take a $1500.00 course to work on the units circuit boards. Sorry for the rant, I drank too much coffee, I have to go fix a bakery freezer. (no circuit board) My glycemic level goes up just smelling the confectionary sugar there, it's a sweet job.

Are multi zoned mini split are a good alternative to a regular central unit?
I accidentally wired the active cable for my main power in to a signal terminal where the sdi cable goes. Is there a high chance I would've blown the board? My ac split system runs but it doesn't cool..it's pretty much a fan lol
Can you help me, my 18 k is ok but the two 9k are not communicating with the out door unit I can turn them on with the remote the luvers open and the fan comes on. What is the most likely cause on the pproblem?

Hi t&n , check those expansion valve and stems for corrosion. Swap unused for the two circuits in use. Just a thought after you replacing the board more than once.(:
what did you mean by swap unused for the 2 circuits in use? Where is the expansion valve and stem in the outdoor unit?
Hi, I mean if you thought electronic expansion valves were,t opening on power up and may be or giving problems you could use spare un used from indoor circuit d. Swap the head and plug. They are at the bottom back.
My liters on the circuit board are flashing 3 flashes
If I was King for a day I'd outlaw circuit boards, and louvers on AC condensers, and gold toothed sun tanned golf sweater wearing maintence contract salesmen who take your customers on Jan 1 when you need them the most, after taking care of them all summer.

More than likely a sensor issue not the board if the sensor resistance isn't correct there will be a lock out relay activated on the board

But the new board got it running not a sensor.

Customer is lucky it's the control board and not the power board. That big ass power board is expensive as F@#k.
