In my opinion the scariest part is how humanity acts. Further into the movie you see a legit crowd of people trying to get in 1 car and you see people using their bare hands to break the car glass open just to get in and *try* to survive.

The part for me is in the beginning, the news mentions the flashes starting in Ukraine, then mentions of the tremors. They metioned it as "reports" meaning that no true word from an actual media source had confirmed the tremors. Yet, we know what happened directly after wards when Ray first encounters one of the tripods. Meaning that in Europe many noticed the lightning and tremors but couldnt warn about the machines since the EMPS fried any source of communication. Basically, they were already attacking but nobody knew that full extent.

    • @coreyrattliff8121

Also, don't forget about the scene where they're on their way to the ferry and a man says there's nothing going on in Europe, and then the second man replies that Europe got the worst of it. Since Europe was attacked first, it could make sense how they got the worst. And maybe the man that said there's nothing going on in Europe thought that nothing happened there because of them not being able to warn anyone and then him thinking, "Hmm. We've heard nothing from there so there's nothing happening."

Nope. It’s stated that their technology “has been long perfected millions of years ago and does not undergo change”. It the books they can only change the way they use it. They invented everything they needed already, so they lost their ability to invent. That’s why we have a slight leg up on them when they come back for the second invasion. We didn’t have planes in the first invention, and then the aliens come back 15 years later and we buzzing around like flies, and that leap in tech in such a short time actually dazed them and we were able to take down a few more tripods

For me, tha scariest thing is that, in the movie humanity were extremly lucky. If we didn't got those bacteria what killed the Martians, than humanity would be wiped out. And it's not quite a plot hole that, how does the Matians didn't know about the germs? Simple! If You watching the movie, paying all the attention, the movie said why! At the beggining and at the end, let me explain where:
At the beggining, it said they were watching us, for millions and millions of years, that means they watch how the life evolved, the machine probably were put on Earth, when the first lifes began, back then were other germs, maybe they prepared for that type of germs that were extinct, and not know there was a new kind of germs, like ourselfs, we watch daily over mars, moon and other planets, but we dont know for sure or we dont know anything what's exatcly there. If it was reversed, and we would be the martians, it would be the same fate, we would die from something we didn't know exactly.
At the end, said, in the moment, when they arrived, they had been doomed , affected. This whole incident was taken in fall, when the most people get sick and release the most germs in the AIR.
So yea, maybe i'm wrong, or maybe not, but yea, in the movie the scariest thing was we got extremly lucky.

    Here's something Horrifying I've noticed
In the Ferry scene we get a Look at what I always called The Overwatch Class Tripod
(Flips the ferry over) and the Harvester Class tripod (abduct people)
In that scene we notice the Red cross asking people with certain blood type to please keep donating which almost everyone seems to be doing.
    (Important for later)
The Exterminator Class Tripods (basically the First one seen in the movie)
Zaps everyone with the Bad blood types. And let's people with the good Blood Live (Including Ray and his Kids and 95% of the people in the Ferry scene.)
When Ray and his kids Swim to shore and the camera Pans to the Area they came from you can see the Harvester Class tripods harvesting people while the Overwatch tripods In the Small city
Barely Fire their lasers Implying Very few Bad blood People are left and probably are Locals to that small city
Or aren't shooting as there's too many people with the Right bloody type near them which can cause collateral damage to the much needed right blood type.
Also in that same scene everyone who escaped the Harvester class tripods didn't escape because they were quick. It was simply due to them having the bad blood type. Hence why the overwatch tripods vaporized them.
Long rant/Run on sentence 😂 I know but a neat detail I've taken a notice too.

Moral of the story: stay calm, cool and collected and lone wolf is always better than safety in numbers. Each has better advantages regarding on the scenario/circumstance at hand. Ex. Ray was playing lone wolf with the car and was singled out..right? Had it been that he and family were among the crowd, would they have been noticed? The scariest part about War of the Worlds is that when HG Wells wrote it back in the 1890s he was putting the civilized world in the position that they put indigenous peoples in the world over. As he himself explained in the opening of the Novel, pointing to Tasmania , the Americas and other places. With biochemistry in its early stages of infancy, Wells brilliantly questioned what would happen to to human immune system if we found a cure for everything and reversed the plague situation experienced by so many colonized Societies, placing it on the Martians, who are a parable of the British Empire itself. Also the effects bringing plants from Europe had on the ecosystems of places such as North America, European grasses, alone, were quite devastating. Quite brilliant and insightful well ahead of its time.
The scariest part of War of the Worlds is that it's truth is as timeless as George Orwell's "1984" and Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World." and people still fail to act to avert the problems addressed in these Masterpieces, the first of which was published 126 years ago.

    • @bluejello-em6ci
      @bluejello-em6ci 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@johanneabelsen1644 The Emergency Alert System (EAS) is a national warning system in the United States designed to allow authorized officials to broadcast emergency alerts and warning messages to the public via cable, satellite and broadcast television and both AM, FM and satellite radio. Informally, Emergency Alert System is sometimes conflated with its mobile phone counterpart Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA), a different but related system. However, both the EAS and WEA, among other systems, are coordinated under the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). The EAS, and more broadly IPAWS, allows federal, state, and local authorities to efficiently broadcast emergency alert and warning messages across multiple channels.[1] The EAS became operational on January 1, 1997, after being approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in November 1994,[2] replacing the Emergency Broadcast System (EBS), and largely supplanted Local Access Alert systems, though Local Access Alert systems are still used from time to time. Its main improvement over the EBS, and perhaps its most distinctive feature, is its application of a digitally encoded audio signal known as Specific Area Message Encoding (SAME), which is responsible for the characteristic "screeching" or "chirping" sounds at the start and end of each message. The first signal is the "header" which encodes, among other information, the alert type and locations, or the specific area that should receive the message. The last short burst marks the end-of-message. These signals are read by specialized encoder-decoder equipment. This design allows for automated station-to-station relay of alerts to only the area the alert was intended for.
