. Gianni
Grazioso video come sempre .

I like Larch very much... the spring growth, in summer it looks like a green dust bunny, autumn has a lovely gold which looks amazing in the fading light of the year and winter you can admire the wild branch structure. the bit at the end of the video was great 😊, while I was in Japan I enjoyed recording announcements and elevator sounds etc.🙏

Is it the sound of an announcement or elevator? You are very sensitive and entertaining!

Hello little-tree girl Kimi! Larches like yours, we call "Japanese Larix" over here (Netherlands, W-Europe; "Larix Kaempferi"). I do have a few of them myself. In these more or less mild climat zones (as yours and as mine) it is my experience that these larches can grow at very, very high speed. If you water them and feed them well, I believe that you should really watch these trees carefully and keep pruning them, otherwise they grow easily out of control. That is my experience during quite a few years of having and growing them. Also check on the rootball every early spring: you might have to repot rather frequently...

Hi Kimi, I hope you are well. After pruning my larch i watch it closely for removing last year's wire. The wire will begin to tighten at this time.

Thinking it over again, I asked myself if Larix Kaempferi is suitable for mame bonsaï? Of course: theoretically it is and you can always try but to be honest: I doubt it and I would certainly not advice it for beginners (to train this species as mame bonsaï). However, I'm curious how your bonsaï teachers think about this?

I will never deny your idea. I think you can leave your thoughts as they are. There are limits to small bonsai. We are trying our best to keep it alive, and the pros and cons of the tree shape may be left behind. It's very understandable that there are people with opinions like you. Thank you
