When our dishwasher isn’t full at night I go find all of the things that need to be washed but often get missed..so think the tray under a water/ice dispenser, parts of your coffee maker, water bottles, trays under soap dispensers or decor, microwave turn table, etc. I can usually fill it up the rest of the way with those things!
You are adorable and your enthusiasm is contagious I love your admin day tip I always make the next appointment before II leave the appointment that I am currently at Cannot wait for another Fab summit!!!! Thank you!!!!!
I keep track of kids birthdays on their parent contact. My nieces & nephews have kids and a close young friend and her 8 kidlets! Helps this pretend grandma! 🥰
For veggies and fruits, once I get home I wash and cut them all up so available right away and tends to be eaten before they go bad. Plus I bring them out at family meals
Love the idea of adding consequences to your reminders. Also, I haven't fully converted to a digital list. We have a whiteboard on the fridge (which is also about the center of the upstairs). The dry erase marker is attached with an elastic cord. We add things to the list. Then I can write them down or (more often) take a picture of it before I leave. If I forget and someone is home, they can take a picture and text it to me.
About microfibers: when they're washed they shed, well, plastic microfibers that are causing huge problems for aquatic wildlife. If we're using them, it's best to wash them sparingly, and there are aids to use in the laundry to minimize their damage. Thanks for so many good tips, Laura! I love seeing new ideas for simplifying!
My hack for not losing socks in the wash is to use large mesh lingerie bags. No roaming socks and they can go in the dryer in the bag. You can also corral undergarments for littles by using one bag per person, so the post washing and drying sorting is much easier. I'm going to try the parmesean cheese lid on the mason jar tip.
In relation to running appliances during the night, that's got to be a hard no. I personally know of 2 separate people who had house fires from dishwashers and my own clothes dryer I only use when I'm home, also known to start house fires. On the rubbish bag topic, I keep the roll in the bottom of the bin, when you take out the bag, the next gets pulled up, ready to rip off. Some great ideas, thank you 💜
I heard one video presenter say that as the kids got older and she taught them to do their own laundry, each one had a mesh bag to put their own socks in, they kept the bag in their drawer after wash and drying. Never need to sort or fold, etc.
wow, so many good 'hacks'! I will have to watch again a few times just to digest everything. I like the one about using the parmesan lid on a mason jar , and many others!☺
I just started labeling and it’s a game changer for us. All big categories make it simple for our family. I am redoing the house and looking for more storage space items like bins to simplify things even more. Thanks for the suggestions.
Alexa does have an app for the phone that can add the groceries on the go too. You do have to open the app but alexa is my go to for groceries. My kids add to it as they use items from the kitchen. Side note for christmas lists the kids each have their own on alexa too and add as they find things they want.
Dishwasher - use the light cycle and turn off the “heated dry” option. If pots and pans are too dirty, use the normal cycle but keep that heated dry option turned off. Heated dry is a waste of energy and makes the cycle longer.
I use my calendar on my phone. Everything goes on there. Even reminders. It’s a game changer. Used to do the physical one, but my hubby was always hit and miss. So now he tells me and o put it on my phone. That way it’s always with me for appointments that are follow ups that are made outside the home too
Wow! Thanks for all the ideas. Probably the one I will implement most is the reminder phone list where you list the consequences of what will happen if you don't go through with the task.
I buy the loose spices in the market to fill my jars instead of buying jars w spices. It was a bummer during Covid the self serve was shut down but most are up now.
Yes, I put what I think is about 2 Tblsp of spice ( recently bought Dill for cuc salad) into the plastic bag at Sprouts and sometimes it doesn't even register on the scale. One lady to me to just take it, and the last guy put a pen on the scale- I paid 35 cents. Yay.
I personally don’t get on with Siri, but I have the Alexa app on my phone so I find the shopping list function very helpful! So many fab hack ideas, Thankyou x
If you have someone with a cold I place an empty tissue box next to the one they are using. That way no one has to touch dirty tissues as the whole box can go in the bin. By then there is often another empty tissue box I can place there.😊
I have a bin for unmatched socks that I keep on my dryer. After every load, I put any unmatched ones in there. Gives me one place to look that's handy & where I fold clothes. Plus, the kids like to play "match the socks" every once in awhile to see how many matches they can find in the bin. Lol
With using power off peak, if you use renewable power, that may mean the middle of the day when the sun is shining but use is low. U can set delay on machines if ur out.
Just found u. Feel like we share a brain lol. I just gained a new subscriber. I'm the same why with making calls. Guess I burnt myself out as a teenager . Looking forward to more videos.
I am a Tupperware junkie. I decant everything. I never have a supply of open foodstuffs left over. If by chance I have something left, (cereal for example), I will use up that product before I start using what is I the containers.
You can share the grocery list using Alexa the same way as you mentioned with siri. I do it all the time with my family. Just make sure you have the Alexa app on your phone.
I have read that the modern dishwashers are worth running even if there are only 8 items in it, because the DW uses less water than handwashing those 8 items. I don't know if it is true, but it makes me feel better to run a less than full dishwasher, now!! Plus, an over-loaded DW doesn't get the dishes as clean as you would like to think.
are you a bee? Many of your hacks and the visuals in the video look like a "Bee". I bought these tiny 1 inch boxes with five compartments to keep my stud earrings seperated.
It makes me crazy to hear some influencer push the same marketing sludge that some corporation puts out. Dishwashers are NOT more efficient than washing dishes by hand if you wash dishes by hand correctly.
$100 for 4 hours of cleaning is way underpaid in most areas. If it's their own business self employment tax rates are quite high ( you want someone who pays their taxes because they're honest and you want honest people in your home). There are many sites that talk about the going rate and the CHEAPEST is $25 an hour. $50 is average. I do know a lot of people who work for $30. Please look up the average prices in your area before you hire.

Good idea
Love this!
Brilliant!
Yes! I do this too!
This is great!
Great tips! Thank you for sharing!
Laura Smith, cool video you deserve more views
Awesome advice! Thank you!
I'm not a morning person at all! So I run the dishwasher right after dinner. Then I empty it before bed. It makes it so easy for non morning folks.
Very good suggestions!🎉❤🤗
You are adorable and your enthusiasm is contagious
I love your admin day tip
I always make the next appointment before II leave the appointment that I am currently at
Cannot wait for another Fab summit!!!!
Thank you!!!!!
These are so good Laura! You have truly found your calling. I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos
Wow!! So many helpful organizational tips in one video! Thanks for all the helpful advice!!
Laura, you are a great presenter - so clear.
Laura, you are a wealth of information. Glad I found you ❤
I use contacts in my phone to take notes-if a friend's parent or pet dies, favorite colors, health issues, gift ideas etc.
Love that!
I keep track of kids birthdays on their parent contact. My nieces & nephews have kids and a close young friend and her 8 kidlets! Helps this pretend grandma! 🥰
Great tips

Wow😎 Why haven't I ever seen your videos before? Thanks for the great ideas
Great video! No dishwasher for me. I do the dishes immediately!! I hate having dishes sitting in the sink that are dirty.
So excited I found your channel! Such helpful tips
Me too 🎉

Spaghetti and sauce is my go to meal. Super easy and cheap. If I'm feeling fancy I'll get some premade meatballs.
Totally agree with the pre-packed toiletry kit! And toothbrushes. It’s a game changer! I might even get a travel hairbrush.

That reminders hack on the iPhone is life changing!!! Thank you!!!

I loved ALL your home hacks. I have the Skylight Calendar Display Frames on my list that I want to try.

Be careful with that, you make be training them that they don't do anything without a threat

Am I the only one that hates Microfiber?
I'll save somewhere else.
I've heard they are really bad for landfills also.
I personally don’t get on with Siri, but I have the Alexa app on my phone so I find the shopping list function very helpful!
So many fab hack ideas, Thankyou x
I save my empty cube facial tissue boxes and keep one on top of my dryer to put the lint in. When it is full, I just throw the whole thing away!!
Brilliant! LOVE this idea!
Such a good idea!

I have the same thing 😂
We all have our own style of socks in white. I wear ankle, hubby wears calves and son wears no shows. This works in our house.
There is an Alexa app that you can use on your phone to access your shopping list at the store
With using power off peak, if you use renewable power, that may mean the middle of the day when the sun is shining but use is low. U can set delay on machines if ur out.
Do you really put cornmeal on stains? Or did you intend to say cornstarch?
Just found u. Feel like we share a brain lol. I just gained a new subscriber. I'm the same why with making calls. Guess I burnt myself out as a teenager . Looking forward to more videos.
Smaller laundry hamper for each person has changed our laundry habit for the better. No sorting anything during laundry time.
I am a Tupperware junkie. I decant everything. I never have a supply of open foodstuffs left over. If by chance I have something left, (cereal for example), I will use up that product before I start using what is I the containers.
If I could get a cleaner for 4 hours for $100, I'd be all over that. Lucky to get an hour for that here.
You can share the grocery list using Alexa the same way as you mentioned with siri. I do it all the time with my family. Just make sure you have the Alexa app on your phone.

Can you link your 10 drawer cart your printer is on?
are you a bee? Many of your hacks and the visuals in the video look like a "Bee". I bought these tiny 1 inch boxes with five compartments to keep my stud earrings seperated.
Hello Laura Smith, may I get to know you better?
It makes me crazy to hear some influencer push the same marketing sludge that some corporation puts out. Dishwashers are NOT more efficient than washing dishes by hand if you wash dishes by hand correctly.
Put a veggie tray out before dinner and they will graze

I could never leave my washing machine etc on standby overnight, that’s a fire hazard.
Doesn’t it also use power for the whole night while you have it standby?
omg pushing microfiber without knowing anything about it.
omg, learn chemistry. Vinegar and baking soda ignorance.
Hello Ma'am. I have Visit your TH-cam channel and found out some problems. Do you want to talk about problems for a while?
