My teacher said the 4 phases of contraction are Excitation, Excitation-Contraction Coupling, Contraction, and Relaxation. From what I understand 1) Excitation Phase is where the Neuromuscular Junction sends the Action Potential down into the Sarcolemma. 2) ECC is where the gates open across the Sarcolemma, letting ions in and out. 3) Contraction is where myosin pulls the actin down, which shortens the sarcomere and contraacts the muscle. And 4) I have no idea how relaxation works. Can someone explain it to me?
