I had to do an oral presentation on stereotypes and I chose to do the stereotype that "screamo" is "satanic" and to disprove this I showed my class lyrics to a parkway drive song without playing the music and everyone agreed that it was very intelligent and lyrically powerful "poetry" (they said if I hadn't told them it was a song they would've thought it was poetry ) anyway after that I played the song and everyone was so shocked! A lot of my classmates agreed that their opinions of the genre have changed significantly
That's what I hated about some of my bands (ISS, W,IM, Issues, etc.). As much as I like the music, the drama got those bands to write some terrible songs talking shit about other band members and the people who hate their music. Don't get me wrong, I still think the songs are good! But the lyrics to those songs ruin it for me.
After watching their movie, this band officially is one of my favorite. They seem like such fun guys and play amazing music. Olae olae parkway parkway!
I just want to say thank you to this band. Music is a big thing in my life and my life would suck much more without this band. The day they stop making music, is the day I stop listening to music
Fuck, their album is so good! Especially their songs "Old Ghosts/New Regrets", "Wild Eyes", "Dark Days", and "Blue And The Grey". Such heavy inspirational music that really brings out the spirit of love and joy. Parkway Drive is definitely one of my top favorite bands now! Looking forward to their new album coming up this year (hopefully).
You kids are fools. Dream Run is one of the top songs on the album in my opinion. The album is overall really good. Top album songs are Dream Run, Wild Eyes, Dark Days, The River, Swing, Slow Surrender, Sleight of Hand, and Snake Oil and Holy Water
Hands down the most meaningful Parkway album. To me, this hits home more than any other. There is not one song on this whole album that I don't enjoy listening to and I must say The River is such a fuckin great song. Parkway Drive makes another masterpiece!!!
This album is just perfection, i like every song on the album and that's rare! Only other album was Horizons, PWD are just on another level of greatness
It's important to keep in mind that all the issues "we" face stem from a core, and that core is each one of us, as individuals. Take a few years of philosophy/ psychology and you'll see the world in a way you could have never imagined. It makes alot of what they are professing crystal clear.
Not gonna lie, I personally think Horizons and Killing With A Smile are their best albums. But don't get me wrong, Parkway Drive does not have a bad song. Every song is a masterpiece in it's own way. The older you get, the more raw and heavy-heart felt the songs are.
+neeksthecuz I feel they've stayed consistent up until this album. I loved every song on KWAS, Horizons, and Deep Blue. This album, I don't like two songs and with IRE, I'm not a fan of half the album.
Sleepwalker, Idols and Anchors, Pandora, Leviathan I, Five Months, Frostbite, Mutiny. Pretty much all of their albums are good. Even their EP has great songs.
Definitely their best album. Sparks starts things off slow and then BOOM right into Old Ghosts/New Regrets. By far my favorite Parkway song is Dark Days. It is incredibly heavy (that breakdown is brutal in every sense of the word) and it also has a good message. And of course Blue and the Grey is a song you have to listen to. Probably my second favorite Parkway song. If you are a fan of metal or a returning fan of Parkway Drive get this album.
Atlas: Our world is dying, we need to fix it. Deep Blue: I'm lost in this unknown world. Horizons: Life, Death, and Monsters. Killing with a Smile: I hate you. You hate me. Don't Close your Eyes: I FUCKING HATE YOU +Yep, Parkway Drive is indeed maturing.
it's great to see parkway maturing, through their sound. with the addition of acoustic parts, violins, piano, strings and gospel choirs, it's different for parkway, but they still pack the heaviness from other albums. amazing. they deserve the best, down to earth, honest dudes who love surfing, and best of all they're australian.
You are aware that I am asking a question right? That whole comment of mine is basically "I don't really listen to metal, why do people rip on this? The only other band I like besides Parkway Drive is Disturbed. Whats goin on?" I never used Disturbed as an example of anything I just named a band that I listen to.
Hello brothers of metal. Any metalcore fans should really give this up and coming band a like and a listen, I've watched bands go from nothing straight to the top and these are the next big thing in my opinion. They're called These Hands Of Mine anyway, if you guys wanted to check them out on facebook, based in Wales I believe, can see them touring very soon too. Just thought I'd share my favourite metalcore band at the minute with you guys. Check them out \m/ Also, We The Deciever are good ;)
Hello guys! I'm from Greece. At 2012 two month after this album release, I become in hospital with leukemia. This album gave me encouragement to live. After 5 years I want to tell this story. Do the best guys!
My heart's @ ease. Blue and the Grey makes my heart cry in both colors. I've never felt, heard, or read poetry as amazing as this. That one track DWARFS "Deep Blue" and is a true testament to the name of that album. It reaps the soul of the hungry and dubs the rock world of indulgence with feelings of chaos/somber. Never have I been so happy to be a Parkway Drive fan. Thank you for being my favorite band. Thank you for music that lets me head bang to soft songs and cry in joy while warring on.
Music has a massive impact on my life (maybe yours as well) and it is for that impact that I thank the members of Parkway Drive, they have truly inspired me throughout their albums and I will forever support them.
The lyrics are really cool ,coz they speak the truth .THere is no god .Fucking excellent .This song is made to polarize the americans who love their religion so much .
Wild Eyes + The River + The Slow Surrender + Atlas + Blue and the Grey These are my top songs but the whole album is so awesome that it can't be described by words... i didn't think they could do better than Horizons.. i was wrong :)
Omf. I went to this thing with my school. Idk And the actors came to speak to the audience before they went to act. And the guy is friends. With. Parkway. Drive. O. M. G.
You obviously don't know what i was talking about; and therefor have no clue you're talking about. The band All That Remains changed their style so they could get more attention and go mainstream (Which worked, and they are now played on a-lot of rock stations) But left a ton of metal fans disappointed. And just like they can do whatever they want, i can say whatever i want. And you can say whatever you want about whatever i say. When referring to this album i said "this is still good".
I interpret this album in a more metaphysical way. They are literally encapsulating something, but it's a little more profound than trying to save humanity from pollution/global warming/civil issues... Those are the most superficial of the problems in my mind, also by-products of a corrupted morality. I'm certain PWD is speaking more directly about our 'spiritual' positioning and our personal self-awareness in this world we've been thrown into. Chaotic, cruel, demanding, and relentless.
This album tells the epic tale of the battle of man's fragile, vulnerable existence versus God's seemingly unforgiving and contradictory design of life. It's man's cry out to the creator of such an insufferable world; which is well embodied in Blue and the Grey and ends the theme of the album beautifully.
They make most of their money off of merch. Little money is made from CDs (in large part due to pirating), but even still, more sales typically means more leverage they have with their label; potentially, this would give them the option for increased royalties in future negotiations, and hence make more money. Also, "not their CD's."
Of course there will be a few people who won't like this album as much seeing as PWD's previous albums have been much heavier and more hardcore, but this album just has so much more emotion to it and I absolutely LOVE the use of acoustics and strings in the songs, so awesome and they've still managed to keep it incredibly heavy! :D 10/10 on this one, absolute genius from PWD :3
mny people will say that they dont understand the text nd they think its to wrahhhh wrahh.. the mom and dad... GO REED THE FUCKING LYRICS... i ma so tired of people whos says, turn down that shit. this kind of metal and band know what mankinds mission is. its not war, its fucking peace
In my opinion their older stuff was better, like Killing With A Smile, but this is still good. At-least they haven't became a complete sellout-piece of shit, like some other metal bands that formed around their time. COUGH COUGH All That Remains COUGH COUGH
It can still be weak, despite being "brutal". I haven't heard that far into the album yet, but being weak just means its not as solid a track as the rest. Maybe the song design and lyrics and what not aren't up to par with the rest of the album.
I wouldn't say this was my favorite album by them, but they did have alot more new elements in their music. like synths I think, I heard trumpets, had some accoustic guitar and more clean vocals which was awesome. So I still enjoyed it.
If you enjoy listening to Parkway Drive and like Australian Metalcore please check out my solo project Marianas Curse on my channel. I just released a new song titled "Lividity" and have an EP coming soon!!
Who gives a fuck if they are death/hard core... Have u seen them? They are just a bunch of young surfer dudes who enjoy making heavy as fuck music!!!! Just enjoy them for what they are.... A fuckin great Metal Band!!!
Why does every group band need a tite, or a label. Who care its music, if you like it then enjoy the pleasure it brings. Music is beautiful and just as eclectic as each person. :)
Personally, I think it'd be difficult for them to top KWAS because I was younger then and it was what exposed me to PWD, a lot of memories are tied to that album, easily more so than HORIZONS.

The river?
Atlas?
Dylan Heilman The whole album?
Bob the builder :D yes, and the song :3
i always loved how parkway drive didn't have a baby tumblr fandom and best of all, no fucking drama.
Only 55,587 more views to go!! Get to 1 million already!!!! :(
More than a million now man ! :)
***** I know! Fuck yeah! :D
Αριστουργήμααααα parkway come to Greece again :D

Looking forward to their new album coming up this year (hopefully).
the breakdowns....holy shit.
the river is clearly the best number on the whole album. like i you agree!
never wanted to skip a single number on this LP, its awesome.
You kids are fools. Dream Run is one of the top songs on the album in my opinion. The album is overall really good. Top album songs are Dream Run, Wild Eyes, Dark Days, The River, Swing, Slow Surrender, Sleight of Hand, and Snake Oil and Holy Water

Listen to their albums in sequence and you'll find that like fine wine, Parkway gets better with age
+neeksthecuz not too big on their newer ire album, but it still sounds good.
It's really hard to top their older work, but I feel that Ire is a great album nonetheless. Fractures is one of my top 5 PWD songs
The Sound of Violence and Dying To Believe are my favs on IRE
+neeksthecuz I feel they've stayed consistent up until this album. I loved every song on KWAS, Horizons, and Deep Blue. This album, I don't like two songs and with IRE, I'm not a fan of half the album.
then they forgot the bottle opened and ire happend.
Even got the tshirt
Best band!
WOW thats pretty serious man... the tshirt... wow..big admiration ;D
I seriously can't find anything bad about this band. Fucking amazing.
finally this reaches one mil, now let us hear a new song from the new album
Sleepwalker, Idols and Anchors, Pandora, Leviathan I, Five Months, Frostbite, Mutiny. Pretty much all of their albums are good. Even their EP has great songs.

The river is good too and the ending of the song is awesome.
Best parkway album. I love. Could listen to it on repeat.
These guys will forever go down as my favourite band ever. The melodies, the lyrics, the instrumentals are just spot on (y)
Definitely their best album. Sparks starts things off slow and then BOOM right into Old Ghosts/New Regrets. By far my favorite Parkway song is Dark Days. Absolutely amazing album!! I'm in love!!
Parkway Drive are so fucking good 0.0
The River, what a beautiful song with that voices...

Parkway come to Greece again !!!!!!!!
You are aware that I am asking a question right? That whole comment of mine is basically "I don't really listen to metal, why do people rip on this? The only other band I like besides Parkway Drive is Disturbed. Whats goin on?" I never used Disturbed as an example of anything I just named a band that I listen to.
I've listened to this album over and over again countless times. I've never done this with any album or any band... Ever! Congrats Parkway Drive!
I fucking love the last song of the album!
I fucking love Parkway Drive!
Hello brothers of metal. sarajevo , 3. july!
I have now become a fan of Parkway Drive. That's one other band I love on Epitaph records besides BMTH and ST4P! :D
so superior
these guys are legends :D, if you don't know Parkway Drive you don't have good taste in music and i dislike you c;
My heart's @ ease. Blue and the Grey makes my heart cry in both colors. I've never felt, heard, or read poetry as amazing as this. Thank you for being my favorite band. Thank you for music that lets me head bang to soft songs and cry in joy while warring on.
Props to Epitaph and PWD for posting this record TH-cam so I could sample it before I bought it.
Music has a massive impact on my life (maybe yours as well) and it is for that impact that I thank the members of Parkway Drive, they have truly inspired me throughout their albums and I will forever support them.
After 5 years of waiting I get to witness these dudes live on Thursday. I'm gonna lose my mind when they start playing!!

Can't wait for them to do another album, love this band so much!
Hope I also see them live one day.
It's all good, in the end we're all still here for the amazing work that Parkway Drive has made for its humble listeners.
Oh, and I just found out they are playing zydeco on the 8th. I'm 20 minutes away... see you then.
Been listening to this album for a few days now, loving it! Wild Eyes is definitely my favourite right now.
i agree this is my 2nd fav band because pantera are my best !
but this is a close second!
Probably my favorite album. They did a good job making this I looked forward to it for awhile.
cool
Nothing can beat seeing them live!
I want all of these songs to fuck my ears so bad!! \-/ Rock on!
Mighty generous of you Epitaph, I'm very much enjoying this! Ta very much!
Am I the only one who thinks the Don't Close Your Eyes EP is better than Horizons or Killing With A Smile...?
This literally makes me finish homework in 10 minutes rather than 5 hours.
This literally makes me finish my workout in 10 minutes rather than 3 hours.
Saw them at Warped Tour this summer in Minneapolis and now I`m hooked. This album is great
The lyrics are really cool ,coz they speak the truth .THere is no god .Fucking excellent .This song is made to polarize the americans who love their religion so much .
Wild Eyes + The River + The Slow Surrender + Atlas + Blue and the Grey
These are my top songs but the whole album is so awesome that it can't be described by words... i didn't think they could do better than Horizons.. i was wrong :)
yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
There old stuff is so much better I'm Dissapointed they have changed. :/ they used to be my favorite band.
Omf. I went to this thing with my school. Idk And the actors came to speak to the audience before they went to act. And the guy is friends. With. Parkway. Drive. O. M. G.
I'm with you. For some reason, I like deep blue the best.
