Out of all other "softer" genres, metal bands always write the most powerful and touching ballads. This may, hands down, be one of the best ones ever made.

*This song will always remind me of my best friend because he loved Parkway Drive, this song was played at his funeral. I'll always love you bro. ♥️ Sending you kisses to heaven 🤍🕊️*
I'm in my mid 40s and been listening to metal since I was 12. I have to say that this band offers everything a metal head can ask for; classic style melodies mixed with metalcore. This band should be selling out stadiums, IMO.
unfortunately not all songs are good in any albums after Deep Blue. Just 1 or 2 standout tracks and the rest are just boring borderline butt rock/arena rock metal
It's not my favourite but I don't think Parkway drive will ever disappoint they are just a great amazing band out there and so talented the lot of them
That dude can sing man, this song made me cry don't remember a time that's happened just know it hit me hard the lyrics, the guitar, the drums, the bass, the vocals, the everything.
The melody is so beautifull. They' ve shown us true potential by writing this song and the whole album... They have truly grown as musicians, the lyrics are still pretty good and they are capable of a huge range of songs, dark, hardcore, melodic, metalcore, sing allong. Great Job
Damn. Just heard the whole album and I gotta say this was a journey. It's a very good twist that still keeps Parkway Drive's "Human" essence. Some songs were hard to swallow, some were instant hits. It's a really nice experience, and I hope this will be a crucial point in your career. I hope Parkway goes big with this one. I hope this band stays with me when I grow up. I hope that when I have kids Parkway will still be out there killing venues on a daily basis. I hope they get bigger and bigger, so I can see them grow as I grow and one day show this and all the other Parkway albums and their lyrics to my kids and show them the crazy shit that inspired me as a teenager... I hope the band sees this comment someday so you can see what a great album you have written and what a huge impact it had on your fans (: Beautiful song, killer album, Awesome band made of awesome people (: Damn this got deep. Ps. I say all this and the album hasn't even come out oficially yet lol xD
+BounceTo TheBeat I don't think he was insulting softness, I think he was just correcting Justin who said this wasn't soft when it is. Personally I love this album, it doesn't sound much like Parkway Drive but it's not bad
***** Aww yeah like fully syk ay bro? br00tal as fark break shit and circle pit every song that I hear because music is all about heaviness...get the fuck out of here.
+Allovertheplace84 I feel like it has it's moments of hardness, Dying to believe is actually pretty KWAS-esque. Regardess, fucking amazing record. They were so fucking good last night live, best $60 I ever spent...
Each song is unique to itself like a new story in each song. And choosing a song like this to end with was just gold. This is another masterpiece in the whole metalcore genre. Bravo Parkway see ya in NYC November 14th
PWD did not disappoint. I was kinda worried since i didn't dig Vice Grip and Crushed, but now that I've heard the rest of the album all my worries are gone. And after listening to 2 previously mentioned songs, I realize that they're amazing in their own way. Thank you, Parkway, never stop being the best.
Let me beat in your heart Be your drum of war and love Let me hide in your arms Be my cage, my key, my lock Let our bones collide Till the light falls like anvils from our eyes When our dreams ignite Disappear in their fire, oh Breathe your life into me 'Cause I drown in your shadow like salt in the rain If my fear is tomorrow, your memory's the fight in my veins Let me beat in your heart Be your drum of war and love Let me hide in your arms Be my cage, my key, my lock Let our bones collide Till the light falls like anvils from our eyes When our dreams ignite Disappear in their fire Be my open sky Fill these wild eyes Breathe your life into me 'Cause I drown in your shadow like salt in the rain If my fear is tomorrow, your memory's the fight in my veins Your memory's the fight in my veins I drown in your shadow like salt in the rain If my fear is tomorrow, your memory's the fight in my veins
because I love this song so much I feel compelled to write an actual comment, this song is probably the deepest most heartfelt song Winston McCall has ever expressed in parkway drive. most underrated song on the album
Each song on this Album has its own groove, its own style, its own metal influence and drifts far away from the KWS, Horizons and Deep Blue days of Parkway Drive... You guys should appreciate the craftmenship of these guys for releasing something that isnt generic, that isnt defined by their listeners. They made this record for themselves. There is ultimately a message behind the music that theyre tryna convey. Dont let the music deter you from that. Must say, I do miss old Parkway myself but this album is not a let down one bit and is definitely one to be remembered not only for its lovely melodic progressions but its overall theme and underlying message!! Good job Boiz!!
Thank you Parkway Drive. Best album so far, fuck the haters who are stuck in their metal elitist ways. They'll never understand a little thing called songwriting, and valuing music for being music with melody, dynamics and power.
Yes! Too many people in the metal community are focused on technicality. Sometimes writing a good, catchy, and powerful song is a lot more difficult then writing a technical one.
On my third Full Album Stream listen (thanks Epitaph). Bit of a Masterpiece I think. Definitely on a higher lever to what they've done before. That 4 song run from Vice grip to Writings On The Wall is magnificent. And the at first disappointing fade out of the solo at the end of Fractures makes huge sense leading in to Writings. Can't wait for that solo live. This last song isn't bad either. Got the album per-ordered. Can't wait for the October 9 show at the Hordern. Proud Aussie here. Congrats guys.
Wow, this is just indescribable. This song is beautiful. That being said, 2 years ago I met a guy on League of Legends and we instantly became great friends. When we talked on the game and played together, I always had Parkway Drive in the background, so I feel like I have a special connection with this band. I haven't talked with this friend in more than a year and a half, and I'm not going to lie, this song made me tear up. Thank you Parkway Drive, stay awesome!
Winston singing in the chorus made this song, one of the most unique Parkway songs ever. Love it, hate it, do whatever. This is all around just a truly amazing band.
Great song. Reminds me of wintersun. I'm a new PWD fan btw. Just listening to their albums back to front. I love Reverence. Can't wait to hear their early stuff.
+Gekko12482 It all depends on how you interpret the tempo and where the strong beats lie. It could either be (1&2&3& - 1&2&3&) for 3/4, or (1 trip-let 2 trip-let - 1 trip-let 2 trip-let) for 6/8. The beauty of music is that its almost always subjective to the listener.
Everyones talking about this song at weddings. Gimmie a everlasting battery mini speakers and entire parkway drive discography and throw it in my coffin
Not wild about the verse lyrics, but love 'let our bones collide'. Every Parkway album has ended on a beast of a song - 'a cold day in hell', 'horizons', 'blue and the grey'. This is up there. Very scandi-metal. Which is both surprising and delightful.
The Faded Lone Ranger Ah I didn't mention that did I?! Great song. Although... I think Leviathan I would have been a better ending song; I like going out on a slightly longer epic. Personal opinion though!
+The Faded Lone Ranger ugh I'm torn on that one. Set to destroy would've been better in the beginning or middle. I'd hate to be that guy and say home is for the heartless would've been a better closer for that album cause that song has so much feels and has more of a "epic" vibe, but Parkway really do know how to close an album.
Its been 7 months now and Im still listening to this album as much as I did when I first found it. My favorite album of 2015 and a strong pick to be called a decade defining record. One of the best albums Ive heard in years.
Every time any band releases a new album, I always see people complain. But with any Parkway Drive album every one fucking loves it! This album is a masterpiece!
Still one of my favorite songs of all time ever. The instrumentals are just absolutely powerful and full of emotion the way it flows with the riff, God I love it
They should have more of this type of clean in their songs.. Very powerful clean.. I'm one of "Parkway shouldn't have any cleans in their song" type of fan, but I really like the new direction this band is taking..
Ikr. This is one of the only other songs by Parkway Drive that is completely memorable from first listen. Winston actually singing this time is what makes the song memorable and fun to listen to. Don't get me wrong. I think screaming is badass sometimes, but when the singer actually sings, the song is just beautiful and memorable as I've mentioned about a million times by now. I'll tell you though. If this song had only singing in it and no growls or screams, my life would be complete.
This song is so beautiful it's my favourite off the album. I feel like Ire is a new side of parkway and their sound has really evolved and matured and the result of that is fucking amazing. Didn't think they could get any better but they proved me wrong
+Invisible Toadstool 'properly' lol. BMTH wanted to make a pop-rock album, so they did. PWD wanted to make a more melodic metalcore album, so they did. There's no point even comparing the albums.
This song makes me emotional like no other. Usually I am not very empathetic when it comes to music but man... this song makes me tear up so much. So. Fucking. Beautiful.
The most beautiful song heard in my life. It sums up the strongest love feelings I ever had few weeks after this song was released. Pwd can be very emotionnal and very brutal as in Boneyards or Bottom Feeder, that's why I love them. IRE was GREAT and the older albums too. The new one has got some cool song but .. this is not similar.
You end the journey of this album with this song. "Breathe your life into me Because I drown in your shadow Like salt in the rain If my fear is tomorrow, Then your memory’s the fight in my veins" Fuck, who can't relate to those lyrics? I fucking listened to every songs, to me Horizons was the best song you could do, and they managed to do even better with that? Man, a Hardcore song that manage to give you a breack down, or put tears in your eyes is a masterpiece. And in my opinion, that's what it is. This is amazing! personally I'm glad to see a change of direction for Parkway Drive.. they seem to be more melodic now but still keeping a slight bit of heaviness. I approve!
Parkway Drive. Ahh i remember that band. Such charisma. Such power. Such passion. Whoever listens to that band knows they have found a gem. I want to say that when i become older.
@@dentkachivsky9223 no lol its just funny how I misread it, nothing on you lol. Yeah I know what you mean, I noticed the comment was half a decade old, I figured I'd comment anyways haha. I only discovered parkway drive last year and loving it. Take care bud!
What's true to me is that this is the best Parkway Drive song ever. I've listened to them for 7 years, every song, almost every day in my car. But this...the truth is, to me, this is the best song I could ever hope to listen to.
They did it! THIS is their new Carrion! a brand new masterpiece of a song for us to enjoy for years to come! such an incredible album, and I'm so glad I got to grow up with this legendary band!
One of their best songs ever, gloriously beautiful but also heavy and maddening, makes me think of the failed love story that caused my descent into insanity!!!
Man , i did not see any one complaning about that song , or the disc, only people fucking complainning about imaginary haters. Trying to get some likes i guess.
The whole album is absolutely amazing! Just like all their others! This song made me smile. You can hear the emotion so much! Well done parkway you will forever stay as my most loved band!
I've seen no one pointing this out, but the lyrics are so damn well written. There are many figures of speech and they are linked to the song itself, I could analyse it like a literary work. It's not common these days but it adds so much to the song I love it.
Finally seeing Parkway Drive for the first time ever this Friday night in Brisbane! Can't believe it's taken me so long considering we live in the same country
A very inspirational song it sooths the soul inside of me and makes me calm if had a bigger problems thank you PWD for making this beautiful song and so the rest of the entire album I'm sure this songs will never gets old and will be remembered generation after generation.

Not wild about the verse lyrics, but love 'let our bones collide'. Every Parkway album has ended on a beast of a song - 'a cold day in hell', 'horizons', 'blue and the grey'. This is up there. Very scandi-metal. Which is both surprising and delightful.
Don't forget Set To Destroy- perfect closing song for deep blue, heavy, fast and epic.

A Deathless Song an Home is for the Heartless have to be 2 of my absolute favourite tracks definitely 2 powerful tracks
You honestly could 't end this album is a more beautiful way. I'm in awe
Parkway Drive. Ahh i remember that band. Such charisma. Such power. Such passion. Whoever listens to that band knows they have found a gem. I want to say that when i become older.
that riff and solo! i love it!
That intro is so fucking good!
That song can cure cancer
lmao at first I read this as
"This song is pure cancer"
and I went
:(
@@zachperez8937 I definitely didn't expect to get a reply to this comment after 5 years. Wow, feels like a time machine. Anyways, sorry :(
@@dentkachivsky9223 no lol its just funny how I misread it, nothing on you lol.
Dont understand the rage, this is beautiful
One of their best songs ever, gloriously beautiful but also heavy and maddening, makes me think of the failed love story that caused my descent into insanity!!!
Best song on album hands down
From 3:50 onwards I could listen to that guitar work repeatedly. So so so good.
People would rather have 10 breakdowns in a song than that incredible guitar solo that just happened. Seems silly to me.
bit off both?
Nothing wrong with wanting some PD breakdowns though.
If you aske me...I love both things same
Man , i did not see any one complaning about that song , or the disc, only people fucking complainning about imaginary haters. Trying to get some likes i guess.
calling that solo incredible is... an offence to all the actually good solos in rock/metal music (or any music)
The whole album is absolutely amazing! Just like all their others! This song made me smile. You can hear the emotion so much! Well done parkway you will forever stay as my most loved band!
I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO THIS ALBUM. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO GOOOOOOD?
Ahh yes Metalcore with emotion. My favorite thing in Metalcore.
this song is beautiful, wonderful and other adjectives more, what more perfect riffs.
truly a beautifull album. just plain old hard, melodic, beautifull metal. masterpiece is an understatement.
What an ablum it's turning out to be!!! GREAT JOB PARKWAY!!!!
Just starting to have this song in my head. Love it a little more, every time I listen to it....
finally something that i have wanted from parkway in a long time... a lengthy solo
parkway is the only band that has never let me down on all their albums, even though each album has a different style all their songs are so good
OMG this song is one of the best on the album, and easily one of my favorites by PWD.
A fantastic ending to a great album. I fucking love you guys. Keep it up!!
This song is fucking glorious.
I've seen no one pointing this out, but the lyrics are so damn well written. There are many figures of speech and they are linked to the song itself, I could analyse it like a literary work. It's not common these days but it adds so much to the song I love it.
Best band ever...
A COMPLETE PIECE OF ART.
Finally seeing Parkway Drive for the first time ever this Friday night in Brisbane! Can't believe it's taken me so long considering we live in the same country
I love this song so much... it's unbelivable 😭
There's a damn good reason they're my favorite band bar none. Ever since KWAS, they are gods of metal.
If it wasn't for Corey Taylor; Winston Mcall would be my #1 favorite vocalist
I feel like a mediaeval themed video would fit this song perfectly.
Like some king arthur and Lancelot story
sounds like it has a norse metal influence
+Snag on the Barbie Amon Amarth? haha
Josiah Wilson Yes!
+Atahan ‚Tyler‘ Antarct Felt like the Dance Of Death album by Iron Maiden
It's criminal that those last 30 seconds with the violins only last 30 seconds. There should be several minutes of that part!
"Fill these wild eyes"
I see what you did there
A very inspirational song it sooths the soul inside of me and makes me calm if had a bigger problems thank you PWD for making this beautiful song and so the rest of the entire album I'm sure this songs will never gets old and will be remembered generation after generation.
