    Enjoyed the backstory- as someone new to your channel I had wondered how your tool collection began. As a woodworker I’ve been fortunate to buy some tools from members in the local community who have passed on. I’m currently putting together a road tool kit. I’m trying to keep it all USA made with used tools from SK, Proto, Snap on, etc. I just picked up a nice “Diamond” brand adjustable end wrench for $3 to add to the kit.

    That’s awesome, it’s like each tool has a story. These tools were more than just tools, they are means to make a living. It’s cool you shared the love and got a lot of tools into other peoples hands

    I hope you are feeling better. I have a bunch of original Craftsman USA made stuff, and a few Tekton sockets. So far my favorite ratchets are the 120's from Gear Wrench. One of my best friends who's an awesome mechanic at a dealership told me to try them. He's has all the big brands (Snap-on, Mac and Matco) and swears by Gear Wrench 120's and he's been wrenching for 25 or so years. I was working on my old mans 64 T-Bird for 3 hours at his house with his old SK stuff (which i have as well) and if i would have used my new 120's I could have saved about 45 minutes. The Gear Wrench ratchets are cheap enough to just buy another and warranty it out down the road especially with Amazon. You should buys a set and review them and compare to the other ratchets you have.

      Are you talking about the gear wrench flex head kits? Any links to one you are talking about? Cheers

    I've been a sub for a little while now, and I did not know the whole story. Man you got lucky finding the retired tool dealer. I'm super jealous. I'm a light duty construction equipment mechanic by trade. I love my Snap-on tools. I've bought a good majority of my name brand tools off eBay. Just have to buy when the price is right. I still love the thrill of the hunt at estate sales and auctions. I am constantly searching eBay for the next deal. I enjoy your content!

    My snap on guy retired last month but problem is they can return the stuff back to snap on for what they paid for it so it’s almost impossible to find those deals unless it was stock not in his inventory like he was saying the old warranty stuff

    I have Snap On and Matco from 1982 to 84 and Craftsman from the 60s and 70s, My big problem is finding replacements for my lost Matcos. cant find a dealer in my area. Not wrenching anymore but still collecting.

    Please share links for the ratchet organizers you use and also the red socket holders with the size of the socket on the tip. Also what you would suggest for organizing screw drivers. Thanks

    • @MidwestToolReview
      @MidwestToolReview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ratchet organizers are called RatchetDock by ApexOrganizers.com. The socket holders are by Hansen; you can find them almost anywhere. I simply lay my screwdrivers down, but I’d you’re looking for something more tactile, you should look at the OlsaTools screwdriver organizers. It’s magnetic and holds up to 16 screwdrivers
