- A classic car parade was held today, April 8, 2023, to celebrate the 85th anniversary of Palm Springs being incorporated as a city. 85 cars participated. One car representing each year since Palm Springs became a city.
Singer, actress and legend NANCY SINATRA was the parade's Celebrity Grand Marshall and also received a key to the city of Palm Springs, following the parade.
Sinatra and Palm Springs are still looking pretty good after all these years.
Happy Birthday Palm Springs!

Happy easter. I don't drive but I love the old classic cars the very early ones. I think I seen a car my dad used to drive in the late 1970's I think it was a Chevy impala four door.
LOL, I recognized a few of those cars from my past too Diane! :-)

You know guys, I must be a little nuts! I've retired in the snow of a boring town, while you guys are having all the fun Palm Springs!
My husband and I have 2 antique cars and still hit the car shows. It was wonderful to see all those cars, we've actually owned a few of them too.
Hope you guys have a wonderful Easter! Enjoy that beautiful weather! Peace...
Classic cars bring back so many good memories. That's awesome that you actually have a couple! Same to you Stacy!
Happy Easter you and Jim and God bless I love your channel and your videos
Thank you Sherron. Same to you!
That was fun, Steve!❤️ I agree with you that the cars were going by too fast! I would have liked them to have lingered longer. What a beautiful day. Palm Springs has that small town atmosphere. I grew up in a small city. I love a small town atmosphere but with a lot to see and do.
Thanks for taking us along. It was enjoyable.☺️
Fortunately they did slow down after the first few. I love the small town feel too and it really hasn't changed that much since the 1960s, which I love! :-)
As a participant in the parade... the red '74 Dodge Power Wagon... we were told it would be a fast parade speed. They were concerned to get the cars parked at the end of the parade quickly. Even though it didn't happen fast at the parking. Lol!
It was a little disorganized. But, it went well enough for a first time event like that.
Thank you for your video!
Thanks Steve and Jim!! This rocked!! Loved it!
Glad you liked it Jane!

Thanks Brandon!
That was wild. I think I’m falling in love with Palm Springs.
It's easy to fall in love with. :-)
Thanks for this video. I love classic cars and car shows and I can't believe I spaced out this event.
Hi Amy, the good thing about Palm Springs is that if you miss one event there's another the next day! :-)
One of the car dealers, I worked at, years ago, had an auction of over 115 pristine automobiles from 1920 to 1950. Mostly in the 20's to the 30's. Rumble seat coupes. And more. All of these antiques were in brand new condition inside and out. All were fully driveable. I was going crazy. Needless to say, my bank account didn't have the funds for even one of these.
But I enjoyed the parade of cars and trucks. Thank you.
That is so cool Walter. They are like works of art and just as expensive, lol! :-O
I had planned on attending but was outvoted by my girlfriend who preferred the beach at Carpinteria. So glad I was able to see it vicariously through you. All the best to you and Jim.
Sorry you missed it, but the beach is great too! Hope you two are having a nice trip.:-)
LOVE all parades.. NANCY: "These cars are made for walkin'" .... DAMN, Nancy put in a full 2 days !!!!!!!! lol
:-)
Loved the replica of Jimmy Dean's car...and your whole channel...ALWAYS THE BEST!!!
Hi William, I was wondering about that myself if it was a replica. Thanks 😎👍
Hope you guys had fun.Wish I were there. Great video Steve 💕

I went over to Linda s and her husbands house Alan and had early birthday cake a card and a gift and a good Easter dinner ! Some nice kitty lady just made of video for me a birthday video !Will watch it soon !
How fun Patti. Sounds great! :-)
Really cool cars! Reminds me of my teen and younger years. My dad had a beautiful Pontiac. It was his baby. A guy ran a stop sign and totaled it yikes! He was upset! No one hurt! Glad you guys enjoyed this! I did too!
OMG, how sad, but at I'm glad no one was hurt!
Colorado loves their Classic Cars! They would be going insane with some of those. I myself am a car nut. I have a BIG LOVE for the’56 Chevy. Cars were just so much Sexier back then. My first car was a ’61 Chevrolet Impala Convertible, unfortunately it was totaled in a bad accident. The guy that wrecked it bought me a ‘59 Ford Galaxy to replace it. Little did they know that it had a Police Eliminator under the hood. That started my little side business of drag racing until my Dad shut me down by threatening me that he would tell my Mom. Never lost a race. Didn’t know that I was a “wild woman” back in the day, huh Steve ? My Grandkids about blew a gasket because they didn’t think that their Grandma was “that cool!” 😎 Thank You for the trip down “Memory Lane” once again Steve. HAPPY EASTER to both of you. Blessings to You and Jim! ❤❤ ✝️ 🐇
OMG Nancy, lol! :-) Thanks for sharing these memories with us. I agree, cars all look the same now. :-( Those were the days! :-)
This is what I needed today. I'm spending Easter with my daughter. I was feeling lonely and this video made me smile. Thank you 😊👍
I'm happy to hear that Jody. You have lots of friends on this TH-cam channel and I hope you have places and events like this where you live so you can be around lots of other people when your daughter's not around. :-)
Pretty awesome Steve, I saw a lot of classic motor city machinery in that parade!
That's for sure Robert!
hi there steve and jim! i love classic cars! hope you guys had fun, have a Happy easter! im replying through my channel you couldnt find. :)
Thanks Kim! You too!
Vintage cars and vintage folks.
LOL, they go together in Palm Springs! :-)
Cool!!😎...Thanks for sharing this Steve, and Jim! If you are car buffs, you'd enjoy "Woodies On The Wharf" in Santa Cruz, CA, happens every summer!
Thanks for the heads up Catherine. I've never been to Santa Cruz, but would love to visit!
Steve, if you search "Woodies On The Wharf 2022" on TH-cam, you'll find it and be able to do a virtual visit!😊
You guys walked right past us on Belardo and we didn't even see each other. LOLOL I I can tell because we took a picture of Bella da Ball at a spot you have a shot of her in this video. It was really crowded at the end of the route.
OMG! Well, one of these days I hope we will see one another out and about. I checked your channel, but no video yet from yesterday. Hope you got enough footage to share. It's fun to see other perspectives of the same event. Have a great day you guys! :-)
My birthday is April 22nd and Ill be 67 !
You're still a youngster Patti! Happy early birthday. :-)
If those cars were in Penna. They be covered in rust from all the salt from the horrible
Yikes, that's sad.
🎉 🕊️ 🥚 🐇 🐣 🥚 💐 🚓 🐰
some of those cars were zipping through there, im likes it a parade not a car race lol
I know, lol :-O Thankfully they slowed down.
was difficult to read the names on some of the cars. Tried pausing them, but it was a little bit too hard to read still.
Sorry Thomas, that was as close as I could get and they got blurred because they were going so fast. :-O
The cars were going 25 mph on Amado. The parade was nothing slowed down like shown here. The cars parked near Belardo were better for everyone to see. We we under the impression there would be a car from every year since 1938. Cars weren't even marked of the year at all. Oh well.
I agree Simba, they should have had the year on the side of the car!
@@theretiredlifewithsteve exactly. Thank you.
The cars were awesome but they were going by way too fast!!!
I know. They started too fast, but glad they slowed down.
Poor Nancy they didn't even give her a hat....just through her old self out in the sun in a convertible.
She might be like my mom who loved being in the direct sun. :-O I was hot just looking at her sitting in the direct sun, lol.
These botts are made for walikn'!!!
boots!
:-)
