So here's a bit of swedish grammatics to know if you should pronounce sk as s and k or as sch, so in sweden we have hard (a o u å) and soft (e i y ä ö) vowels. And there's a rule for how to use them, that works on words that are originally nordic not borrowed from english or french and so on. And that is: if there's a hard vowel after the consonant the consonant shall be hard. So skogen is spronounced s-k-ogen (forest/woods), o is hard. While kyrka (church) is pronounced like ch-yr-k-a. Because y is soft and a is hard. In sweden there is always an axception to any rule so here is that thing, some words like skjorta (shirt) sch-orta. have added a j in there to make it soft. And kjol (skirt) same thing. So if there's a j it's soft. But basically kärlek is soft k in the beginning because of ä and hard k in the end because of no following wovel. And kran (tap for water) is hard k because there's an a after. This whole thing also works with g. :) An example of a borrowed word that don't follow this rule is kläder because it means and comes from clothes. So we borrowed the pronunciation with the word.
