    ------------
In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

To be fair, we do take a much bigger issue with pronunciation than Americans and and Brits do. None of us Swedes speak English without an accent, even though we are generally fluent, yet we only get praised for being so good. I wish we could be the same towards those learning Swedish and focus less on pronunciation and more on vocabulary. It makes no sense we should praise people how only sound better but only knows a few words, and can't even construct "do you like herring?" or "do you eat herring?" but rather asks "are you herring?" over a person with an accent but can actually talk about a variety of subjects. I find we are more shallow in that sense.

    • @sB-wt5ov

So many words change meaning in Swedish when heard with Dutch ears.
"Gammle" is swedish, meaning old, but for us it means "gammel" or rickety, which kind of works in most cases. This happens a LOT.
It reminds me of a story about a type of French window that is now called a "wasizdaz" because a German soldier in WOII pointed to it and said: "was ist das?" (Which means what is that?)
I imagine loads of those kind of things happening to pillaging vikings, who got so frustrated they eventually just left.
On a lighter note: I hate that I have to miss Taskmaster season 13, just because I live in a different country. First you refused to learn our languages and now that we have all learned yours, you punish us for not being in your country. Do you see where this will lead?
Britain is going to get crowded if you keep making the best TV program ever and hogging it.

Ardal was so fun to watch as a swede! He also sounded a bit danish and also austrian.
On another note, I don't think it's that fun when people start calling friends on their phone to help translate,
removes a bit of the charm of it all, other than that, a nice watch!
