PS. If you're anything like me, you might be drawn to looking at my lower leg and how I 'sit' at the back of the saddle. It's something I'm actively working on, along with conversations with my coach and my saddler - I've been working hard on lots of little things, but this one is taking a bit longer than the others and I'm sharing this because I'm self-conscious and I want you to know that I know 🙈🤣
To be honest, if I ever notice anything about how you ride, I never write anything because you have a coach and I am some random person on the internet.
😂 well thank you, you're very kind for that, 10/10 comment. My coach is amazing and Rome wasn't built in a day. But I'm also aware that social license is a thing and it's a fine balance - I feel sometimes it's important to express awareness of knowing where you need to get to and where you are now and seeing 'the gap' - I find it particularly tricky as what is essentially an adult 'amateur' (if that).
I'm no expert but to me the saddle looks about half an inch to small for you. Idk if that's it but there's definitely something in how it fits you that's off
Rhi - I think you’ve found an old soul in a young horse. Harley is so calm, careful and responsive you’d think he was much more experienced than he is. Obviously, plenty of learning opportunities for you both. But his attitude (and yours) makes your style an asset to you both.
Thanks Annie! I agree, my coach said a similar thing that my riding style suits him well. I know he’s been to a stay away show with the seller (purely because he’d be left at home on his own so they had to take him!) and even that impressed me. They said he didn’t bat an eye and I can see why. As you said, an old soul ❤️
Harley is such a beautiful horse and he moves wonderfully. It is also great to see you enjoying yourself and your beautiful young horse. Looking forward to your adventures.
Thank you - I'm feeling quite confident at the moment which is lovely. What I loved about editing this was seeing my 'in the moment' reaction to a couple of spooks - just a little laugh and positively moving forward. That felt really nice to 'see' from myself!
Loved watching this video and the process of familiarisation, this will be so beneficial to my 4 year old (soon to be 5). You should definitely enter your first competition, and I look forward to following yours and Harley’s journey 🥰 xx
What a wonderful lunch time watch 😊Thoroughly enjoyed seeing how you and Harley tackled an unfamiliar location with many potential spooking opportunities, and what a great relationship you have with your coach!
Thank you very much - was so proud of him, he's just fabulous. And yes, we've worked together for a few years now and I really trust her judgement, as you can tell! She gives me a lot of confidence + helps me believe in myself.
That's such good training for YOU, AND its so much better if you can do thing's lick this .Take care and all the best for this year. That looked such amassing trianing. 😊😊👍👍👍
I really enjoyed that. Anyone watching your journey together will know that you care deeply about the whole process. I saw that you put the comment about your leg/ seat position but try not to be too critical. Harley looks like he's enjoying his journey and he's the best judge. Good luck for the dressage xxx

If its related to the saddle I had a similar problem in my saddle and we moved my knee blocks/removed/downsized them and I found that really helped x

What a lovely boy, Woody sure sent for the right one 💕
❤️
That’s a really good idea to go to a comp venue for a wee hire before competing. Harley (and you) coped very well.

What a perfect boy. I mean, he is just so lovely in every way. You must pinch yourself at finding him❤
I do, incredibly frequently 😂 he is perfect (for me) - everything i hoped he would be.

Rhi you are riding him beautifully!!! What a good man! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much, I’m working hard on it 🥰
Rhi that was amazing and Harley looks so good 🐴🐴❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
So pleased for you that you and Harley feel ready enough to tackle new adventures.

Ah I’m glad it was helpful. And thank you! We entered! Put my brave pants on and did it. 🙊

Thank you for this. What a lovely thing to say! And it’s absolutely true, I do care deeply. I’m so excited for the dressage ❤️
How did you get the footage to be so stable? It looks awesome!
I wondered that myself when editing! It’s the GoPro Hero Black 11 Mini, so might be that they’ve improved the stabilisation somewhat.
