Funfact: Bobby Brown had global commercial success in the late 80s. He had multiple top hits and his album was the #1 selling album in the world for the year in 1989. Additionally, Bobby Brown scored #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. People forget how commercially huge Bobby was but he negative image ultimately ruined his stardom and legacy and the white music executives blacklisted him. While Micheal Jackson, Prince, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen and Janet Jackson are the face of the 80s and culturally regarded as the foundation and pioneers of modern day Pop music, Bobby Brown has had some impact on Pop Culture as well. Bobby Brown in addition to his group (New Edition) has inspired a profusion of artists such as: Usher, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, TLC, Boys To Men, New Kids On The Block, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Neyo and the list goes on. Regardless of what the media portrays of Bobby Brown, he is a legend.

That energy he had was all natural. We didn't have Red Bull back then. You guys are very observant. Bobby has said that Rick James was his biggest musical influence. Good song choice. This song was massive and straight 🔥👍

Definitely not all “natural” energy lol….Most of that was probably the crack cocaine he was smokin at this point in time in his career. That being said, he was and still is super talented. I give him mad credit as well for him getting and staying sober. I know from personal experience that sobriety is extremely difficult to achieve and maintain, so kudos to Bobby Brown 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Bobby Brown is an excellent example of potential wasted. He could have been so much more than he was. When trapped in an addiction, even the best can fail to reach their potential. I hope he comes back, he was good.

His wife Whitney Houston use to call him the "Original King of R&B!" And at one point, Bobby really did dominate the male R&B charts with back to back bangers!!!!! PLUS he could sing, dance and rap! So in a way, Whitney was Right! From a Sista from Brooklyn, NY.

Such an incredible song. There will NEVER be another like Bobby Brown. He was a superstar and doesn't get enough credit for what he brought forth. His music was loved by so many people, of all ages, races, and backgrounds. I can't wait to see the documentary coming up about him on the A&E channel in May. Keep your eyes peeled. Loved this reaction! 💖

Wow! the Twin hit it on the head. Rick James was indeed B. Brown's idol. When he sung My Prerogative at one of the Black Music Awards Shows he dedicated it to guess who, Rick James!!!! Awesome that you caught that.
