Can’t believe I just found out about this and now I’m searching all over the internet at 4:30 in the morning for information on such an amazing human being ❤
I just finished reading the book after seeing an ad for the movie on Instagram. I felt so many emotions reading this book, by the end I was so happy how things turned out for Steve. He had an extremely rough start but he never gave up. I definitely recommend reading the book because you get more details and a fuller story.
I saw this movie and had to watch it again! It is so moving and sad at the same time. I loved it! GOD bless you Mr. Pemberton for overcoming such pain and growing up to make a difference in others' lives.
Wow this interview really touched me.I was never in foster care but sometimes thought it may have been better.I too had human light houses they gave me the air I needed to make it out of a difficult household. The truama associated with childhood abuse is real.I used to watch Leave it To Beaver and shows like that imagining a stable family life free of abuse and I'd look at magazines that showed families with cars vacationing together. I'm 47 now and after a long journey one of my goals has been to graduate with a Bachelor's in anything lol. I registered for classes a few weeks ago and will finally become a college student in August. I look forward to reading your book Sir . Thanks again for sharing.
Love the movie & the story.
I have watched it over & over and over. I am not a person placed in the system, your story touched me deeply. Good Luck!!!
