Thank you Sarah for putting your medical hat on. I am alive today because at 49 years old, I went into the doctor for a little shortness of breath and a sore left shoulder and left the hospital 3 days later after an angioplasty where they cleared 95 and 99 percent blockages in one of my coronary arteries. I am now going on 25 years doing battle with coronary artery disease and am so grateful to my medical team and that first doctor who paid attention. There’s so much in the way of great medicine out there and so much that can be prevented or mitigated by good health practices. However awareness is key so thank you so much!

I just lost my best friend and stitching buddy to cancer that took her way too fast! I’m so thankful for all the days we stitched together, the retreats we attended together, and the car rides going to retreats! Enjoy each and every day to the fullest! We don’t know how many days are ahead of us! You are making such great progress on all your WIPs! Love the Strawberry Fields Forever start! Thank you for your doctorly message on heart disease. I get heart palpitations when I see beautiful flosses. And I have pain in the pocket book. And then there’s drooling when faced with luscious fabrics. I don’t think you mentioned these symptoms. Seriously, thank you for sharing the story about the loss of your dad. That time must have been incredibly difficult for you, I am so sorry. I lost my grandmother and uncle to heart attacks, so I appreciate the kindness of your PSA.

Red Deer is beautiful, and as long as he’s getting love, one mustn’t mention his lack of bottom appendages (and total lack of decorum). Your Courage piece is lovely. Sarah, what a priceless video! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. As the mother of two grown sons, I am pretty biased because I think there is nothing cuter than a little boy! What strides humans make in one year. What precious parents Vince is privileged to have! I went back in your video to check on what count you were stitching Away We Ride and confirmed it is 36 count. The original was stitched on 30 count, I guess with 2 over 2. You are most certainly stitching one over 2. I’ve not stitched on 36 count but I do want to order that pattern and the fabric I will use. I also checked your Smith Sampler count…again 36. I really love that piece. It is so valuable to see what stitchers are doing and what they are using in their stitching. I just love flosstubes!!!!! With our hobby, we need to get up & walk and get in some exercise. Nice to see Stan's fabulous craftsmanship up close. Most don't realize the hours that goes into a project. Your story about missing your father’s funeral pulls at my heart. I had a similar experience when my grandpa passed away, who was like a second father to me. I was across the country, in training, and unable to leave because of several reasons I’d rather not share on TH-cam. It was a painful time, and so I empathize greatly with you.

Hi Sarah! Thanks for Dr Sarah as well. I just had my physical last week and my heart health according to his chart and my cholesterols is that of a 55 yr old I am 67. However,big shock to us both my TSH went from1.4 to 8. So back I went for my T3 T4 and something else bloodwork. Have all symptoms but ironically have had them all since teen and young 20 yr old and they don’t seemed to have worsened. Oh well he should have results Monday or Tuesday.
Oh octupus’s garden is beautiful on that blue! Teresa Kogut’s new patterns are beautiful, and the one with the hymn in the garden or he walks with me just hits home one of 3 of my fav hymns.❤

@@SarahsStitchySpot yes it was but I am wondering if was a wrong reading or fluke. I called receptionist and asked if he had looked as not allowed to ask for results. She said he has signed off and if he didn’t call then he’s okay with the t3 t4. I see him in July so will ask more then. I also like the h name escapes me 3 very simple flowers in a row. One was released last yr as well. Oh Floral etchings by heart in hand. Went checked my wish list lol.

I really enjoyed your video. You are such a positive person and an encouragement to all of us. Your WIPS are beautiful and I am amazed at how big some of them are. Vince is adorable and the young couple are so happy together. You are so lucky to have such a wonderful family. A first for me since I came back to stitching after a break of twenty plus years was to try stitching a monochromatic pattern on 22 count. I started stitching in the 80’s and quit in the 90’s. My 30 something eyes could see to stitch on any count available at the time. When I came back to stitching in 2015, my eyes weren’t to great anymore so I stuck to 14 count. Then I tried 16 count and I really like that the best. However, some of the patterns now are ginormous and I thought trying a smaller count might be a good idea. So last week I pulled out 20 count and gave it a try. I really like it and I find that I like stitching with one thread, another first since I’ve come back to stitching. I won’t try anything other than aida because I don’t want to struggle stitching over two. I tried some 28 count and it was no bueno.However, I was so excited to see that I could stitch on 22 count and I’m happy about that. Thanks for joking me this evening while I stitched. Vince’s sampler was one of the first I stitched on 20 count and I am thrilled to know that 20 and 22 Aida will be there when I can no longer manage linen. I am also enjoying the 25 count Lugana one over one to try and keep the sizes down on some of these pieces. Retirement and a fixed income make it very difficult to have pieces framed. I plan to keep working on my lacing and framing skills so I can get some of these stitched pieces on my walls. Thank you for watching and your kind words. Happy stitching.

Thanks for another wonderful video! I was diagnosed with an SVT when I was 34. It took almost 15 years to diagnosed. I started having problems when I was in college and kept being told that it was panic attacks. I told the doctor that these were not panic attacks. In fact, they happened when I wasn't stressed out at all, but I continued to be dismissed. I was also told that it had to do with the weather, drinking too much coffee, etc. It was only when I was passed out when the doctors started taking it seriously. I was referred to a cardiologist and they found it when I wore a holter monitor for a month. I had an ablation and never had any further problems. Given the research on women and heart issues, I can't help, but wonder if I would have been taken much more seriously and diagnosed much sooner if I was a man. Guess I'll never known.
Good morning, Meg, so nice to see you. Unfortunately, there are too many stories like yours. Women have been dismissed with their symptoms and often chalked up to stress, hysteria, or the “vapors”. I am sorry the diagnosis took so long. I have periods of SVT as well and they are scary. Thank you for sharing this.
