ya, but he is now past his prime and has had his days of a point-per-game player... i was shocked that Seattle didnt pick him in the expansion draft - BUT remember he was coming off a serious season ending injury and people wondered if he could return to his prior form
@glenmcdonald375 That is true, but it still surprises me that he is THIS low in terms of numbers. He did have 23 goals and 55 points in 78 games last year. I was expecting maybe slightly less but still close to it. Right now, he is on pace for 8 goals and 30 points, which would be far and away his worst season ever. His lowest points per game average is in a season is .5, which was his rookie year. but you do have a point he is definitely past his prime. Even then, I still expected around 18-22 goals and 45-50 points. Something around those totals.
I’m sure Jeff Skinner at this point in his career would rather make the playoffs for the first time as a fourth line forward than be a top six guy on a struggling team.
in regards to Dach... yes started really below expectations, but the past several games seems to have picked it up and I think he'll finish above what you project. Seems the whole Habs team has picked it up since becoming full and healthy and Laine returning.
Sorry but Hughes will (if they want and or need him) in Montreal with Cole Caufields old buddy and linemate. Something akin to the Dach trade. The Canadians have 2 possibly 3 first round picks along with 2 second rounnd pick in this years draft. You can also add the abundance of prospects already in the system at Hughes disposal shouldn't cost to much while keeping our core of untouchables intact.😊🎉@@AnaheimRob
Knoblouch has been so unfair to Skinner it’s insane. At the start of the season, Skinner was producing amazingly on lines with Draisaitl, Mcdavid and Hyman. After the entire team was struggling due to chemistry being lost over the summer, Knob punished Skinner for no real reason and put him on lines that he can not produce in.
Amazingly Skinner had the same issues in Buffalo & Carolina ....Skinner refuses to get hit, play defense, back check, battle on the boards. Put bluntly, Jeff don't like being hit.
@slushyoilers Skinner needs to play bigboy hockey. Failing to do the big boy things not only alienates the coach but team mates as well.. Skinners woes are self induced. I'm a Canes fan & have followed his career since day one. I thought he'd be a fit in Edmonton. Guess I was wrong.
you know i completely agree. skinner deserves a chance at least with drai, top line prolly not. but yeah unfair, everyone sucked at the start why should he be the scapegoat?
Newsflash for yiu guys, Skinner isnt a gritty power forward. Hes a scoring winger. Thats it thats all. If he isnt playing on line 1 or 2, whats the fckn point.
IMHO as a lifelong Rangers fan, if the fire Drury, the team will turn around. Drury, who should know better as a former player, has created a toxic environment where no one feels safe.
That’s a terrible take and not how hockey players think 😂 we don’t care about “toxicity” or any of the other stuff. coaches and players will just disagree on play style, and some players fit better under different systems. So firing the coach may be the right move, but not because he’s a “toxic guy” but because his system doesn’t fit with the top guys on the team. There is also the possibility that the top guys in NY are just flat out having an off year. It’s very very hard to be consistent in hockey let alone the nhl
As you noted, the struggles of Zbinajad and Kane mirror the struggles of their teams. Look at the rosters and see both teams are underachieving, New York has gone from the Presidents Trophy to the cellar in just a few short months.
It isnt "the team struggles and somehow that then carries over to the players". Its clearly, players ARE the team and its their successes or struggles that produce team results. Not rocket science.
@@theScotian24 What isn't "rocket science" is that struggles of guys on your line or defense pair struggles can adversely affect other individual players and goalies.
Get RID of Darnell Nurse and get a GOALIE !!!!!!!!!!! before NcDavid moveS along !!!!!!!!! . THIS MISTAKE IS APPARENTLY Hollands pension plan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally think mane was solid for his small tenure in NYC given gallant not knowing how the he'll to utilize the insane talent on that team which is why he got shitcanned. Honestly I was more upset letting tarasenko leave and not sign him for atleast a 1 year contract given how he fit Mika and kreider perfectly his entire short run. But I could be bias, tarasenko was my favorite player for the last decade and seeing him as a ranger and not only that but being a massive offensive boost and the last time the first line in new York was actually lethal and needed to be focused on. Now it's kreider being lazy rubbing off on Mika in the last 2 seasons. I'm hoping they can pull off the st Louis blues cup run but for that to happen they need to pretty much become flawless to even sniff the playoffs and then if they do stop being soft and lazy like the last 3 playoff years that ended with a pathetic attempt in conference finals and the shitshow 1st round exit
I feel like Vladi Tarasenko would be a good addition to this list, he has 4 goals and 14 points in 37 games.

@glenmcdonald375 Thanks.👍

for sure
disagree, this guy lives to play. he doesnt deserve the lines he’s in and at this point, they might trade him before playoffs
@slushyoilers ya but they hired him to b the goal scorer that Kane otherwise would have been

Totally agree the guy was hurt as well hard to say if he was 100% all season.
He's a bust
Adding to Mika Zibanejads bad season is the fact that the chain of burger restaurants he is a part-owner of, Brödernas, isn't going well either...
Well maybe he should fckn focus on his multi million dollar hockey career..think?
I was reading about that yeah
I think Zegras needs to leave ANA and start fresh
Unless a team offers a lot for Zegras, Anaheim will keep him.
@@AnaheimRobTo the detriment of Zegras. I think he could thrive on a team that isn't laying a bunch of expectations on him

@connormcintyre8859 Drury is the GM.
@ I stand corrected lol but the toxic part still stands hahah
Girgensons. Jeez. From All Star to two points in 30 games. BTW I'm Latvian. What a disappointment he's been.
Sad that Sabres had both of these dudes and it took that long to move on from them
Jeff Skinner was signed by Jeff Jackson before Stan Bowman was hired, I believe.
