It's good to see you got your boat fixed!! Thanks for all your talent and hard work on youtube. You are truly one of a kind. Happy new year and always stay safe!!!
Thanks for being so honest brother! a lot of people think that you are a bad fisherman if you are not catching big fish and they think that you are the best fisherman if you are catching big fish, they never think about the location that you are fishing which I think is the most important thing on fishing
I grew up off western avenue in the 60's and 70's and we used to rise our bikes down to the back of Neyland Stadium and bank fish. U gould catch about any fish you wanted. In the 80's we got a john boat and fished all over Ft Loudon caught good fish. I went a year ago and I he carp at Calhoun's were the only fish we saw all day. Pitiful. Love watching your channel Dave, keep it up.
Hey Catfish Dave, Hope Aii is weii Brother, just Checking when you have A Chance, when your next video might be Coming out really enjoy Them, Glad there working Out for you , CD.,, take care Stay Safe & God Bless,
I think I already mentioned it, but probably 2 months ago now I ran into 2 guys at Skull Island on Chickamauga and of course they had like 8 or 10 rods active at the same time, but that particular day they caught 1 fish in the 70s, 2 in the 60s, and some in the 50s and 40s. Just going by what I saw of their boat and rods and what they told me. May be worth another 30 miles south of watts bar dam to fish the lower Chick. I used to catch some decent cats at the discharge of the Sequoia Nuke Plant, but that's been about 30 years since I have even tried that but I am going to again. Took my boat out there to fish for bass and nearly grounded it. I have forgotten the lay of the lake bottom there and next time I will be plotting depth. I know you are probably opposed to it, but I would love to see you make a Striper trip. I watch you because it's you. You are fun to watch regardless of what you catch, but I love watching you fight those stripers maybe even more than the catfish. Maybe there are still some decent Striper on Ft Loudon too??? Hopefully? Just a thought. I love watching you catch those skipjacks too!
Your right about fishing pressure. Back in 68 I went up on Douglas about ever weekend and crappie fished. Never saw a boat all day long and if you did it was some kind of paddle boat with oars. Then they came out with the first bass boats and boom down hill from there, plus back then you could get to the water and fish anywhere you wanted to. Now you in somebody’s yard and get off of my bank. I feel the hurt like you do. Take care catfish man and think of days gone by.
Hey mr. Catfish Dave do you ever eat the fish out of Watts Bar or Fort Loudon Lake I know they have the signs up everywhere but what is your opinion on that matter thanks happy fishing
What's going on Dave! Man you caught a lot of Blues and Watts Bar! I was there about a month or so ago with Appalachian fishing and it is a great spot to fish at! You're making me want to go back! Great video!
There’s a lot of places that are like that. And you are so right brother. FISHING PRESSURE IS REAL. I was just talking to my sons about this very thing yesterday. About how in the 90’s it wasn’t a problem to catch a 30+ cat here in Alabama, big 30+ Striper as well. Well them good ole days are long gone and I thought the same thing. To damn many ppl catching and keeping instead of catching and letting go. I understand a mess maybe every couple of months but not every damn time. And I’ve seen plenty of ppl do that. And I used to ask ppl if they wanted the fish I caught. Not anymore. Nice video. Great proof vid
Hey there Dave i watch your channel a lot and i like the bank fishing videos the best because i fish off the bank here i florence Alabama i am curious have you ever used ande monster mono and if u have what is your opinion of it keep fishing buddy
We fished yesterday,6 hours, only got 3 bites and landed one 18 pound bluecat, usually have a better hook up rate, I am guessing we should have down sized the baits. It was looking like a skunk day til my wife hooked up. Loaded out after dark at a unfamiliar ramp.
All your fish moved south , to Alabama.. lol just playing.. Yes, I believe what you say. I've seen it happen before in WV.. Catch and release, only way to stabilize the problem. Everyone knows that.. Thanks Dave great video.
Early fall I had success on Fort Loudoun but it's gotten really tough to find fish this winter. I think there is still some good fish but it's tough sledding in Fort Loudon these days.
Get your point across in a truly entertaining way. Catfish Dave can do it all. Not only that-HE’S RIGHT! I live 5 minutes from beaver lake Arkansas home of the first Bass tournament and believe me FISHING PRESSURE IS REAL!
We had a week of mild weather after some freezing weather. Those shallow waters get warmer during the rest of the river during that time. Especially if it is mud stained.
Bassmaster will be on Fort Loudoun again this February 2021. Dave it isn't just catfish a problem on Loudoun. Bass aren't no where near what they used to be either.
Read a study(scientific) Missouri where I live has sport fishing harvest of 40,000 pounds blue cat per year. Tennessee has 700,000. Can catfish get any protection AT ALL from fishery depts ???
I live in the Baltimore Co, Maryland and this is so true for the good spots here. I have a few spots that I still know where fish are. I don't tell a soul about them. I blame the internet for this issue, This is the same issue with Crabbing, as soon as someone catches crabs in a particular body of water everyone knows about it. Very frustrating to know what it once was and what its become.
Fish where the fish is,not where the fish ain't - Old Chinese proverb Hey Dave! Have you ever considered a road trip to Wheeler or Wilson? Several triple digit fish have been caught on Wheeler last couple years. Just wondering. Best of luck to you!

Catfish Dave is so good and such a catfish hero he can propel himself into the future, two weeks ahead of us....

Thanks Dave. Keep teaching and entertaining us.
Dave I am in OKC.. I have been watching you for 6 months. Any day you want to fish, I'll be there. Thanks for making catfishing cool
Is this in the future or is it to early for my eyes?

At 17:44 I was getting real nervous about your rod becoming an offering to the fish gods.

I had a bad summer 2020 here in NH, very hot, low water and no fish to speak of...hoping 2020 is better. Love your videos Dave.
I can’t wait till spring when Dave’s videos get good again
Nice job Dave. Another grind it out kind of day. Was cool to hear the recent history of your waterways. 👍🏼
Well once again you turned it around that takes smarts great video thanks

Fort Loudoun is too close to that Big Orange Staduim... Catfish don't even wanna be around it after the season they had.
Dave how come you don't fish douglas or Cherokee for catfish ??? Thanks love the videos.
Hey mr. Catfish Dave do you ever eat the fish out of Watts Bar or Fort Loudon Lake I know they have the signs up everywhere but what is your opinion on that matter thanks happy fishing
Dave cracks me up with the dramatics-"I've been out here 4 days dragging bate" "It's almost spring and no fish yet" LOL
Still trying to decide if there’s fish at Fort Loudin or not. Wasn’t really sure from the video
Dave great efforts he gave, cold and wind he did brave. We all need to remember to keep throwing back fish so a fishery can be saved!
Tell me some of the lottery numbers that drew between the 5th and 23rd!!
What's going on Dave! Man you caught a lot of Blues and Watts Bar! I was there about a month or so ago with Appalachian fishing and it is a great spot to fish at! You're making me want to go back! Great video!
Dave’s boat must be equipped with a flux capacitor, but i’m not really sure how he gets it above 88 mph.
You have to tow it, down hill , with a good stiff following breeze.
There’s a lot of places that are like that.
And you are so right brother.
FISHING PRESSURE IS REAL.

Good message. Appreciate you Dave.
If you have been drifting for 2 hrs and covered 25 miles that’s your problem. You can’t catch fish drifting at 12 mph
I can relate to this deeply. My local lake is one of the top 5 for crappie in the US and it gets strip mined by out of staters every year now.
Grenada ???
I love Jesus Christ
And i love catfish dave
ok the floats your useing to keep bait off the bottom what are they an where can i get them
What happened to the music?
Why were you in so shallow of water? Just trying to learn. I was thinking they were more in and around deep holes with the cold weather.
Dave been meaning to ask , is that a driftmaster t system that you use for rod holders?
Do u guys think then increase in paylake fishing has hurt the amount of big fish in other places they have to get there fish from somewhere
dave whats up my brother ........your date in the start says jan 23 2021 i think thats wrong man
What ramp did you launch from on watts bar?
That was a nice winter outing, thank you Dave, Jeff in LA USA
Hey Dave could you recommend some good spots to fish on fort Loudon 😁
Does the Tennessee game and Fish ever restock the rivers and reservoirs. From time to time. Good video Dave 👌👌
We fished yesterday,6 hours, only got 3 bites and landed one 18 pound bluecat, usually have a better hook up rate, I am guessing we should have down sized the baits. It was looking like a skunk day til my wife hooked up. Loaded out after dark at a unfamiliar ramp.
What kind of equipment are you using Dave?
Dave, where was you fishing today Fort Loudon Jim apologies if I failed if I failed to mention it.
YES!! Fishing from 1983 til about 2013 was great. Now it's different
January 23 2021 ....today is January 5 2021....you are awesome !!!!
Dave what bait tank do you use on your boat? Tried to find your video of it.
I was beginning to wonder if this was a fishing video. Catfish Dave came through. Love your humorous comments.
Your video says that you’re out on the reservoir in January 23 the video just came out on 7 January 2021 so your date is wrong correct that please?
Should have changed ya bait over to 🐔 chicken! 😂🤣😂
All your fish moved south , to Alabama.. lol just playing..
Yes, I believe what you say. I've seen it happen before in WV..
Catch and release, only way to stabilize the problem. Everyone knows that..
Thanks Dave great video.
Congrats on 45k bud 👍🇺🇸🎣
You mentioned Dieter Melhorn. Have you two ever fished together? That could be a great video.
Great job catfish Dave keep up the great work
That's what worries me about the new live scope with the crappie what's going to happen with the population with the new technology
He’s putting videos out of the future??? Take that TH-cam
This is a fishing video! Priceless!!!!! Did you get some new rods?
Try hiwasse river my friend below 75 bridge in the bend
How come fishing is getting bad in these reservoirs are people keeping the big ones ?
Early fall I had success on Fort Loudoun but it's gotten really tough to find fish this winter. I think there is still some good fish but it's tough sledding in Fort Loudon these days.
Get your point across in a truly entertaining way. Catfish Dave can do it all. Not only that-HE’S RIGHT! I live 5 minutes from beaver lake Arkansas home of the first Bass tournament and believe me FISHING PRESSURE IS REAL!
Maybe your drifting to fast. Whats your drift speed? I use a drift sock to slow me down. Good luck Dave! Love your videos.
Curios, why did you expext to find fish in shallow water?
We had a week of mild weather after some freezing weather. Those shallow waters get warmer during the rest of the river during that time. Especially if it is mud stained.
Bassmaster will be on Fort Loudoun again this February 2021. Dave it isn't just catfish a problem on Loudoun. Bass aren't no where near what they used to be either.
January 23rd 2021? Say whut? How long did I sleep?
I don't know that area, so I 'm gonna ask... Does the Asian Carp come into the eguation for that lack of catching fish in that area ?
They are not here hear yet.
@@catfishdave8192 Ya better hope they don'tget there.
Might need to bring out the “big guns” when times get tough. I hear chicken 🐓 is multi-purpose. 👍👍

Soaked in Strawberry Jello and dipped in Cheese. But, it the weather is out of the East , you should've stayed at home.
Read a study(scientific) Missouri where I live has sport fishing harvest of 40,000 pounds blue cat per year. Tennessee has 700,000. Can catfish get any protection AT ALL from fishery depts ???
Well said, Dave. Sad to see the big ones killed when they’re so few and far between, with little eaters so easy to come by.

Well said Dave, I have the same problems up here on the wabash
Use your fish finder and find them stacked up on structure. You do have a fish finder? Love your vids.
Hey Dave I was thinking about driving over. Any thoughts on Fort Loudoun?
Do you use circle hooks?
I was on the Cumberland today. ONE! In 6hrs.
someone count up the Fort Loudoun's in this video...my guess 420 ? definitely more than 69.
Dave man I never thought you would get so excited with a dinkathon.

Dave's fishing on January 23 2021 and posted the video on January 5th 2021

I'm curious do you eat catfish?
What length are those rods and what kind
Those were Big Cat Fever Heavy action. They only have one length.
There isn't many big blue catfish left in the Cincinnati pool of the Ohio River. Our record blue cat was 96lbs caught 12 year's ago. Our average big blue catfish is 30lbs, and you're lucky to catch one of those. They are few and far between. Commercial fishing has decimated our part of the river. Maybe try some Chicken! Lol
