- NOTE: MY COMMENTARY NOTES HAD AN ERROR! THE TE300 ACTUALLY HAS A 6-speed gearbox which works awesome.
Here it is; the long-awaited update review of two bikes in the W2 R-R fleet! 2016 KTM Freeride 250R (starts at 1:00) and 2016 Husqvarna TE 300 (starts at 5:30), review and discussion about two of the best off-road bikes among off-road bikes, and some advice for buyers.

Big thanks to the bike owners for letting us ride them!
Bought a Freeride last week based a lot on your videos...I wanted a 2 stroke and couldn't decide between one of the "race enduro" bikes in the KTM lineup...or the FreeRide...I think I made the right choice...that thing is a mountain goat with loads of torque....SO FUN to ride!! Thx man
Really appreciate your views on the Freeride in the real world. Cheers fella👍👍👍
Good review on the ktm. I love my freeride.
EXCELLENT SUPERB review. Thank You.
Not much more I can say.
EXCELLENT.
Greetings from 'OZ'. (Australia)
Thanks again.
Just made my day there! Glad to hear from someone on the other side of the pond!
Freerides rule! Great video.
I am getting 300i 2018 huski next Saturday sweet🇬🇧👍
Jealous, dude! That will be an awesome bike! The model year after this one (2017) has a counterbalanced engine which has so little vibration that it's unbelievable!
Would you rather have the TE300 or the 250r if you had to choose? Thanks! I have a 250r but I am looking at a ktm 300 xc-w.
Based on where I live, TE300 or 300XC-W for sure! The 250R is awesome when it gets REALLY technical (East-Coast US, Romania, etc.) but it isn't the best choice (considering performance or comfort) when the terrain opens up.
What's your main riding style / location?
Right now I'm doing some very technical things. Tackling difficult terrain, going off trail, and hill climbs is what I bought it for. In the future, though, I'm looking to do desert riding which the 300xc-w would be good for. I don't know if there might be some technical things in the desert :P.
Nothing the 300 XC-W can't handle
Hey are you albino
Yep - Not every day you see one of us, is it? HAHA!
@@w2racing-recycle282 how do you deal with the utah sun being albino?
@@MrErichonda30 Sunscreen dude! And big, floppy hats. Most importantly, just not take myself too seriously - if I get to go ride, I don't care if I look or smell like a dork!
There is a 6 speed trans on your te300. Just count your head.
Geez. I need to proof better. You're mistaken. There are 6 gears man.
You are right! My notes had a typo... haha embarrassing! There should be a note that clarifies that error on the vid: I will double-check that. Thanks for keeping me true!
K & S Bond had a TE300 for almost two years now and his comment (5gears) made me go to the garage and count the gears... hahaha
what about the shitty rear brake and poor front suspension
On which bike? WP front suspension on the TE300 takes quite a bit of adjusting to get right but no complaints so far on the rear brake on either bike.
w2 Racing-Recycle the freeride, I have one and it fails brakes every weekd
Oh man that sucks! That can't be normal... never had any issues with this one.
The Formula brand rear brake on the Freerides is notorious for its poor reliability. Nihilo concepts sells a rear brake stay mod to allow bigger more reliable Brembo brakes to be mounted on this bike.
