Thank you!!! I am new to embroidery as well as to my Baby Lock! After watching your tutorial, I now have designs in my embroidery album on my computer. Now I'm off to watch your next tutorial on transferring them to the USB. Thanks again!
Hello Jay, Thank you for an excellent and helpful video. I was wondering, since I also use a Mac with TRUEmbroidery software, if this process is also possible within that mode. I have an Ellissimo machine, which uses .PES files, but the files on it will only save to the computer as a .Vp3 file. I have been adding every single design individually, adding a .pes to the .Vp3; however, I am still unsure whether this will work. I can't seem to find the appropriate instructions for doing this properly without having to download each and every design in a file folder. Any advise you can offer me? Thank you so much.
Your video helped a lot. I put my .pes files on a flash drive but I could get them to work on my Innovis 4500D. I learned from you video that I had too many folder levels. I fixed that and BOOM!! I could see my files. But here's my problem. It takes the designs forever to load up to the machine. I updated my software from the Brother website. I'm using an Imation 16gig flash drive. Do you know why it would take the files so long to load? By long time, I mean like 2-3 minutes. The files work once they load, but the loading time seems like a long time. Thanks for your videos.
Is it necessary to get the Brother PED software? If not, do you recommend it? Also, if I'm planning on making mainly kids shirts, would I need a hoop bigger than the 5x7? Thanks so much
The PE Design software is very user friendly and for those who just want to adjust and modify existing designs, I think they are one of the best choices. No, you do not need to purchase the software to transfer designs to a USB memory stick. But you would need it if you are using an older model that only takes the memory cards. About the size of the hoop, if most of the designs you want to embroider out are within that hoop size, then by all means, you can keep with that small of a machine. However, if you are planing on doing a serious amount of embroidery, you may want to consider getting a bigger machine. Not because you need the bigger hoops, but because they are made a little better and will hold up to the large amounts of embroidery stitches that we can rack up in a hurry.
I bought a Betty Boop CD on ebay for my embroidery machine and the will only show up in the summary pdf file. I followed your directions and they do not open. Do I need babylock software to be able to see these designs?
I have a problem in understand between format of the machine I have a singer studio S10 and it's folder is a JEF and the singers that you describes is a XXX. the instruction in the manual indicates the it uses a JEF folder.... I haven't yet download a design in my USB because of this , so can I use the JEF file?
Sylvia Reyes you'll need to look in your instructions to find out the format of files that your machine reads. Some singers use XXX, but depending on who manufactured your model of Singer that format might be different. The JEF files are primarily for Janome machines.
I have a MAC. But when I downloaded a file it told me that there was not an application to open the file. What do I need to do to make it compatible with my Brother Dreamcreator vm5100?
You cannot open the file on a computer as it doesn't "speak" embroidery and doesn't know what to do with the file. But you can still store, copy, and paste them as you would other files. The files that your DreamCreator uses are the PES embroidery files and would have to come from a website or person who has digitized them into that format.
You can use a MAC and the process is the same, but the folder locations and the right-click instructions will be different. You don't need to use a PC unless you want to run embroidery software on your computer and at that time you would need to use software that was specifically created for Mac or run them in parallels.
I downloaded some embroidery designs from the internet and I can't open them to put on my sewing machine. They only open in Adobe Reader. Can you help me? They are .pes files
Plz can help me .am using Singer Stylish .E200..after digitizing school logo am struggling to save my work so that my machene can recognize. Am stuck anyone can help .am new on this Embrodery things.
It depends on the number of stitches in each design. So if each design only has 1000 stitches, it will display more designs than of each design has 15,000 stitches.

All the information on making files is just what I needed. I have forgotten how to transfer files and to make folders on my computer.
