- $30 Guitar?!?! Is It Any Good? (Lyon by Washburn LR-6)
I have a passion for acquiring cheap guitars and using them. This Lyon by Washburn LR-6 popped up on Facebook Marketplace for $30 and I was lucky enough to get it! One 30 second drive later and it was mine. After cleaning it up, putting new strings on and giving it a decent set up, this guitar is now my go-to until I clean and set up my other guitars.

Love that color! I have had a few of the Lyon guitars over the years and they were much better than I would have thought. I still have my Lyon Scott Ian black with Tribal Graffix. Many years ago I got it at Sam Goody when they were closing their doors at 90% off I paid $19.99 for it. It came with a gig bag, picks, cord, strap and Scott Ian guitar lesson DVD. They had a few more guitars at 90% off and I still kick myself in the ass for not grabbing them. For the price of one at MSRP I could have taken them all! I have a few Washburn guitars in my collection and this one Lyon. They really did a great job making affordable guitars that came in well above their price point. I search for deals all the time like the one you got. Many times I will actually toss in a few extra bucks if I think the deals are too good.
The regret is real! Wow! That was a crazy deal. I'd be keeping one and giving the rest away at that point 👉 thank you for sharing 🙏
@@stevenkambach I get some free guitars from people I do work on their guitars or people I know that just give them to me rather than toss them in the trash. I usually fix them up with spare parts I have laying around and give them away. I have more guitars that I really need but it doesn't stop me from buying more! LOL

How are the frets? I have a different Lyon and they're super ouchy
Frets are good but I would not expect the frets ends to be on this level of Guitar. I usually smooth them down

But would you say those guitar necks have a tendency to be twisted (ie frets aren't parallel)?
