If just more game developers could optimise their games for the Mac and ARM, then these new MacBook Pro's would be great gaming machines as well!
No because these are SoC laptops and for good gaming you need a external graphics card.
@@adedniin8607 That's not how it works. The PS5 uses a SOC as well. The M1 Max is more powerful than the PS5 so with the right optimisation, so optimise the games for ARM, it will be even better than a PS5.
But, maybe you don't consider the PS5 as a good gaming machine?

@@photogus magic mouse is the most ugly unergonomic mouse I've seen on the market next to the rectangle shaped pieces of cheap plastic at I see at tech stores. and having to constantly recharge a mouse with one of the worst positions for a charging cable feels like a ripoff, especially for a mouse they sell for $130 on their website. I can get a $70 Logitech m705 and it will be ergonomic, have its own customizable buttons. and have a battery life of around 1-2 years. as compared to having to recharge a flat piece of garbage every day. I don't need mouse touch gestures when my laptops touchscreen already gives me way more gestures then a useless piece of garbage. I feel like they could've done better in so many ways and yet chose not to for the sake of an ugly aesthetic.

got myself this beast with nearly max specs (M1 Max 10/26 core, 64GB, 2TB) for Christmas.
I'm using it for work and the performance is stunning, had a MacBook Air before and with big projects you can call the difference in GPU speed and Building speed. Love it!

Awesome laptop but it's not for gaming, not because it can't game, but because sandly people (and specially game publishers and studios) don't seem really interested in Mac gaming.
Altho... For an artist, a video editor, music producer or a vfx and 3D guy it's a dream machine! Probably the best Macbook ever created.
The games were not crashing because of lack of compatibility, they just detected u were playing on a mac with trackpad. They just spare such users from further pain and embarrassment

This MacBook is changing my workflow!!! It’s so fast that I can now make multiple tasks and export and run very demanding stuff a lot faster.
On a typical day I’ll save at least 2 hours…! In 2 months that beauty will be rentable. Thanks Apple.

Its not a review though? Its an unboxing. PLEASE go check out actual reviews by marques brownlee, Linus tech tips, or dave2d because it shows the laptop's strengths and weaknesses. They show off performance that is not just pure gaming. Also you probably don't need a maxed out version, because m1 max only gives you extra gpu cores, not cpu, compared to the m1 pro build.

It can hardly run minecraft at 120fps at 12 chunks hows that good? On a 9 year old game.... plus for bo2 its not even stable 120 its dips. U should be getting around 300 fps for bo2
