It’s a tendency for people with attachment wounds to become obsessed with unavailable partners as a subconscious method for resolving the “original abandonment “ I struggle with this myself. I think the people I obsessively think of fall more in this category than a twin flame. It can be a hard thing to accept but once you move past the acceptance stage you can work towards bringing more awareness and healing which will help facilitate healthier and more long lasting relationships .

@TheUshaPaul feeling delusional is awful. I think practicing self compassion and recognizing those parts that want so badly to connect with someone are valid. The place my brain typically goes is it tells me I’m delusional to think someone could ever like me. And of course I’ve had relationships and people like me. Typically though the people I crush on don’t like me back and the reason for that a lot of the times is because the people I crush on are unavailable, therefore impossible to attain in any sustainable way, and more “safe”. And so then it perpetuates the cycle. This is normal for people who have abandonment wounds or relational trauma. It’s a hard wound to heal though :( I think awareness and self compassion are good first steps.
