I wanted to create this video to show you what is involved when installing the Panthera electric starter. It was not very difficult, but I was not expecting to cut the tail light bracket portion of the subframe. Their instructions do not mention that. When I installed this kit on my other zilla, which had a DG rear sub frame, it fit without any cutting or modifications. Perhaps the zilla they used for creating the kit had that same DG rear subframe. Please let me know what you think. I was thinking of getting the e start for my kx500. Ended up getting a VHM decompression head for less than half the price and have had 0 problems makes it a one kick even when cold and a slight power increase. I’ve seen some fishy things said about Panthera in general from other buyers on TH-cam who have bought kx500 e starts from them so that alone made me stay away from it & the installation made me uneasy.

My only experience has been with installing 2 e starts on LT500's. My only issue was having to modify the bracket on one of them because of the rear grab bar. It was a pretty easy modification.

I had one custom made. There are a couple of guys that make them for the LT's.

Wasn't happy about cutting my sub-frame. Also one other significant modification that needs to be done that Panthera conveniently leaves out of the instruction manual and the company installation video is the gear shifter no longer has clearance due to the oversized case. I had to heat and manipulate my stock shifter to fit. Not a big deal but Panthera should be more transparent about their product. I highly recommend this starter kit as well as the kit on my CR500 but Panthera has to step it up in the honesty department and customer service. Both batteries I purchased from Panthera were junk. They no longer sell those batteries.

I agree. I was surprised when I went to bolt it up. It definitely made the installation take longer than expected. The kit I installed on my other zilla bolted up without any modifications. That one has a DG rear grab bar. I’m guessing their mock up machine was similar.
