Another great show. I have questions about a lost Baltimore cemetery where my fourth great gma, Sophia Mitchell nee Kelso , was buried. Originally the Reformed Presbyterian Church (Irish), it later became the German Lutheran church listed in 1833 as "dw Holliday s of Saratoga st."
My boyfriend & I have been watching these videos since the early days of COVID; they are fantastic. Thank you for continuing to do them, even as it's now possible to do in-person programming. I would be interested in knowing more about the events of Sept. 9, 1942, that are commemorated by the memorial in the Workman's Circle Cemetery. I googled the memorial itself as well as Drushkapolie and the date but didn't find info about a specific event on that day.
Jachman was with Company B 17th Airborne Division. He was awarded the Medal of Honor, note the word Congressional is not part of the medals designation, on Jan 4, 1945. "[L]eft his place of cover and with total disregard for his own safety dashed across open ground through a hail of fire and seizing a bazooka from a fallen comrade advanced on the tanks, which concentrated their fire on him. Firing the weapon alone, he damaged one and forced both to retire."
Very interesting to learn about the cemeteries at the other end of German Hill Road. You missed one of the Catholic cemeteries, Holy Cross, on the north side of the road. Another wonderful history lesson.
Just a point of information for Ms Weiner. Those that receive the MOH are "recipients" not winners. No one wins a campaign or valor medal. It is not a competition.
Hi :-) I am looking for this 28 month toddler who was burried there. Is there someone close by that could see if she has a gravestone? She is freda Yaffe Died: 04/01/1911 Section/division: E Row: 9 Grave:8 I would be so greatful.
I really enjoy these videos and I appreciate the research they do to report this history to us.
Thank you for watching!

@@baltimoreheritage1006 My pleasure. I had no idea of these Jewish Cemeteries, only of Baltimore Hebrew at North and Belair Rd.
