I bought one of these as a beater guitar for 150 bucks. It's the green one with the white stripe which was only available in Europe for some reason. I fully expected it to be junk and maybe I'd mod it or something, but it's turned out to be one of my favorite guitars. I play it all the time and love it and haven't even done anything to it except sand down the fret edges. It's seriously the best bang for the buck low end guitar I think I've ever owned. I especially love how thin and light it is. It's like an SG but without the annoying neck dive.
Bought the exact one for £80, new condition. However, it was fitted with 250k pots, humbuckers were too muddy. Replaced with Alpha 500k ones with 0.022 sprague capacitor, the difference. No need to change the humbuckers. It sounds better than my MIM telecaster, believe it or not. I put in a Truetone output jack also, better lead grip. This guitar has great potential. Bought as a cheap spare, but a keeper for sure
I didn't know they changed from 12 in radius to 9.5 very interesting.Just bought one in black on Reverb and mine appears to have the later headstock.I was prepared for it to be a flatter 12 in but prefer 9,5 so could be very happy when it arrives tomorrow ,Cheers
These things stock are surprisingly not terrible. Yeah, you do need to mess with intonation a bit and the nut, tuners, and bridge are GARBAGE but the pickups don’t sound to bad honestly. I spent $200 on my “limited edition” Olympic White Mustang HH and got a little more value than I expected. I just ordered a brand new Charvel So-Cal S2 (Tele) Pro Mod HH HT CM with a Babicz Full Contact Humbucker Tele “ashtray” bridge to replace Charvels’ HT-6 string-through-body ashtray. Apparently the bridge from the Charvel is standard to fender telecasters with the same style bridge so I don’t have to do any drilling just pop the old bridge off and screw the Babicz in place. The Babicz has the ability to be both string through bridge AND string through body which is cool since the Charvel Tele is string through body. Super excited for that. ANYWAY haha I was thinking about getting HipShot hard tail Hip shot Locking tuners for the mustang and a set of Duncan pups maybe a set with a SH-6 bridge and SH-2 jazz in the neck and get a push pull pot to coil tap. I’ve never heard a coil tapped S.D sh-6 however you think that pup is too hot to bother with coil tapping it? Should probably get better better pots for the mustang too and just get rid of the useless tone pot I don’t use and make it a neck volume pot or something idk.
Good job. Bullet Mustangs are very cool guitars similar to the Epiphone Specials that have three way switching, two humbuckers with one volume and one tone control.
Love the colour of that particular bullet mustang. Toying between this and the Hartley Benton MS60. Wish the bullet had single coils. And the Harley Benton has the trem, but doesn't look quite as nice. Decisions, decisions!! 🤔🤔
I have the Sonic Blue version. There was no way I couldn't get that, as it is the perfect match for my car. It is a Mustang in the same blue with white stripes.
I really dig the player series player 90 mustrang with 2 p90's..If I got the p90s and the pickguard how would this thing do for a budget version? Is it worth the money? Or should I just save for the real thing? Also, I thought a mustang would make a great long practice session guitar for jazz considering all the chord acrobats and stretching.
The neck and body are a lot thinner than the Fender P90 Mustang, I've covered the P90 fender on this channel before and must admit they are very nice to play and sound so good. Yes Mustangs are good for stretchy chords 💯
I have a newer mustang bullet with a 12" radius but I would prefer a 9.5. I'm assuming switching necks wouldn't be a problem if the plates and holes are the same.
@@theguitarmanifesto if I can find one cheap enough I'll give it a go. I snagged an arctic white one with black competition stripe. Beautiful guitar and haven't seen many around.
Hey! Man, u have a squier mustang hh, u had a squier affinity jazzmaster hh. Could you tell me about the difference in feeling for the left hand between them? Because I have a mustang and I'm thinking about switching to jazzmaster, because I believe the neck on jazzmaster is thicker and more suitable for my big hands.
On my jag stang I wired the harness straight into the jack , and the result is an almost active sound. Very alive .. the slight touch rings out loud, pronounced and sustained... its interesting , you should try it one day when you just messing around

That jam at the end was the shit! I've got one of these in Sherwood Green. Most comfortable neck I've ever played.

Nice thick tone on the bridge pickup!!
Thanks Rob
That pickups sure kicks 🎸🤘😎💯

The Mustang definitely neckdives, please don't mislead
The Mustang definitely does NOT neck dive, I've owned over 50 of them
@@theguitarmanifestoI have a squier bullet Mustang in my hand, it neckdives?????
@@theguitarmanifesto with the guitar sitting on my lap, if I let go, the head falls down, is that not neck dive ??
It lives!! Love the color!! Always partial to HH!
She looks real nice for sure 💯👌

I mean, another snipe, this is getting ridiculous! Happy for you :) may this mustang find better home in your care 🙂

Yes I've covered the epi LP special on the channel before great guitars
Hell yeah I just picked up one of these in excellent condition at the pawn shop for $100 US
Nice price 😀

Having had both the bullet wouldn't disappoint fun to mod em too 😎🎸
Is it easy to get hold of a pick guard cut for single coils for a straight, no hassle, swap? 🎸🎸

Seems they are chopping and changing the radius, should be ok swapping over or easy enough to plug the holes and drill them again

Hi I was wondering about changing the neck pickup to single coil. Have you got any videos on this ? Thanks in advance
Sorry, no
straight forward swap just need a different pickguard
Sweet 👍

I love 1meg pots in my mustang, though I’m using p90s not humbuckers
1 meg pots on humbuckers would sound very harsh.
I got one in surf green
