King William: So uh, we're going to want to try and trade our map information for theirs so bring them that chest, it has all the maps drawn out recently of our lands by our cartographers. Emissary: Yes, mi Lord **Emissary Leaves, Meanwhile the King Goes to Inspect the Treasury** King William: Why is the treasury short two hundred and forty florins? **Comes to realization** FUCK I ACCIDENTALLY LEFT IT IN THE CHEST WITH THE MAPS.
legend you should "insert derpy suggestion here" although the reason I love watching you is because I love the fact you aren't afraid to tell us to f&^k off when we give you stupid suggestions.... if we want it played a certain way then we can play that way, I watch you to see how you play
French general- WE TAKE BRITIAN Soldier-sir we just lost the war French general-how its only been a bloody season! Soldier- a man named legend exterminated our armies French general- right I'm declaring hacks brb Average day of legends enemies
If he does he has to go to the oldest fucking brewery he can find and get drunk of the oldest ale he could buy, and I'm talking about something hundreds of years old (it shouldn't be massively expensive like wine, since it's just ale. It might taste like piss though. Well, all ale tastes like piss anyways. Fermented non sweetened honey).
I heard of an interesting way to play this once: you play a campaign for as long as your king is alive, and the moment he dies you send the savefile to a friend who takes over as the new king, and then you keep going like that. Tried it this way?
In Medieval TW III I hope they model the cities to look like their namesakes. In the very least geographically, possibly incorporating real life landmarks.
The statistics you see in regard to Medieval Europe's life expectancy are brought down a lot by infant mortality. Chances are, if you were to live past childhood, you'd have a good chance of making it into your 50s and 60s and occasionally into your 70s. 75+ was very rare..
Holy shit Legend, 2 and a half hours of Medieval 2? I'm sorry but I can't watch all of this right now, I have an important test tomorrow but holy crap this is an extra extra long episode
I genuinely enjoyed this video. I might even dare say that it was much better than I expected. I have seen other youtubers try this sort of thing and it hardly works. I am glad that this episode worked so well. I will be looking forward for more.
Hey Legend I have a suggestion you should also do this and that and Those with this one and that one and once you did the thing you could also tweak that one and also Forgot to mention you can do this it's a secret thing in that one but it could do a devastating thing on that one With regards -Annoying ass Viewer
Every youtuber ever's outro: That's it for today guys, hope you have enjoyed, leave a like, comment, subscribe... and all that stuff... LegendofTotalWar's outro: See you next time fuckers.
Both your role playing series are awesome it's nice to see a different side of your content mate! I've actually gotten better at RTW because of your Scipii series! Keep these coming!
I love the roleplay campaigns, they're a fresh approach to old games, and not a style other folk really do... Maybe someday we'll get a Legend does Massalia Tales series, all going well !
I don't usually watch your Medieval 2 stuff (my first Total War was Rome 2), but you said this would be special and I decided to give it a go. It was very fun and enjoyable and it's good to hear you having fun and playing the way you want. I will definitely follow this series. Keep it up fucker!
I recommend John Keegan's "Face of Battle" for a detailed account of Agincourt. English arrows didn't kill many armored knights. First, the mounted knights who tried to charge the archers at the flanks were stopped by the wooden stakes the archers brought and stick into the ground among their ranks and arrow shots to the horses. That and the harassment of arrows clanging on the rest of the French helped funnel the dismounted French knights into smaller English front. This creates space between the English archers and the flank of French knights pushing forward into the front. The ground was terribly muddy and broken from ploughing. rain, and the previous cavalry charge. The pushing French knights, whom all wants to be in the vanguard and capture men it arms for ransom or some other vainglorious reason, actually was a disfavor to their comrades at the front, who were already exhausted carrying so many weight in armor and trodding the muddy field. The English archers saw the opportunity and started to kill stragglers that wandered in front of them and flank the French knights concentrating forward. Soon enough it became a slaughter, and many French knights got knocked down and suffocated or drowned in the mud. Very interesting account, not as simple as English archers being good at shooting arrows to the fully armored knights.
Glad to see the new format in action here. Was a long-time viewer, dropped off during the TWW video blitz, am back and enjoying the new (return to old?) style campaigns you're running now.
"Unless I accidentally make a stupid decision" HAH good luck with that! So looking forward to the next one, the Scipii campaign isn't grabbing me massively but I love all your vanilla Medieval 2 stuff. I need to keep up with this and catch up on the France campaign! Good work as always, stay awesome! :)
Only thing staying in the Church is good for is being able to declare Crusades, and the occasional gift of money from the Pope (they were much larger and were much more of an incentive to stay inside the Church in the first TW:M. This game you get like 500 florins, in the first one he'd give you like 4000. He also seemed to love France, so unless you played without care to the Pope's wishes, he'd give you money often). Oh, and the fact that other nations can't crusade on your land and might think twice about attacking you, but if you built up a strong nation they'll think twice about that anyways.
lol I'm re-watching this and just realized William gave that speech about cleaving heads w/ swords twice. Yes, William you maybe be able to do that, but in your old age have acquired dementia and can't remember you have given this speech already.
I know everyone probably recommends mods all the time, but honestly, Stainless Steel, an overhaul mod that just improves the base game in every way while keeping to its original design view, is awesome. It makes the original game look so basic. I would highly enjoy watching you play a series of that mod on very hard.
I´m usualy not a fan of roleplaying, but I have to say here it´s seems like a very clever way of making the campaign more challenging, and thus more interesting for you and us. The problem with M2 campaigns IMO is that you usually conquer everything so quickly that by the time the AI gets good armies you´re already unstopable and just steamroll everything. Great idea, this made me reinstall Medieval 2. Also... People WANT 30fps? Sorry, I know it´s a personal preference but in the majority of RTS games frames are very important, the battles flow much more smoothly and you´re able to make more inputs and thus get better and more fluent micromanaging. Competetive RTS players NEVER play on settings that doesn´t allow for the best frames possible. In my book there´s just no cons to it whatsoever, I choose 60fps over maximum graphics any day.
"King William accidentally gave money to France"
"King William has an eye for money"
King William: So uh, we're going to want to try and trade our map information for theirs so bring them that chest, it has all the maps drawn out recently of our lands by our cartographers.
Emissary: Yes, mi Lord
**Emissary Leaves, Meanwhile the King Goes to Inspect the Treasury**
King William: Why is the treasury short two hundred and forty florins? **Comes to realization** FUCK I ACCIDENTALLY LEFT IT IN THE CHEST WITH THE MAPS.
@Immanuel Lane flixzone is a scam and you are bots
"King William recognized Admiral Nigel's victory by giving him a command star, and a cookie." I love it.
It would be more realistic if you played with no electricity because it didn't exist back then.
You're forgetting the fact that it'd be a lot more realistic if he didn't use a computer to play, since those were far from being invented yet.
would be realistic if he cease to exist because he wasn’t even born back then
Redbird what's up bro you from Norte Califas?
Instructions unclear: Legend revived Mongol Empire in real life, and manages to horse-sandwich ISIS.
More like it wasn't discovered yet.

I demand 46.3fps. No more, no less.
Total war role play: AKA legend talking in third person the whole time.
King William "No Fucks" the Conquerer.
Completely conquered the British Isles, and overran half of France for the hell of it. What a man.
MSF soldier Alligator yep it took us a century, it took him a decade
No fook giving since the old norse era.
I am sure it is impossible to get a second civil war in this game.
George Jukes yes
2 hour 30 mins holy fuck! Get me some popcorn!!
That is word for word what I thought when I saw the timer!

how long does a king live? 2 and a half hours apparently.
Adam Guthrey I bet theres some king in history that died shorter than that after his coronation lol
There was Prince Louis Antoine, Duke of Angoulême, "King Louis XIX". 20 minutes reign.
André Correia Holy shit haha how did that happen
Ok so I looked it up he didnt die he just abdicated
Still, a short reign nonetheless
Respect to you man. You play this games for more than decade and still come up with new interesting things.
Holy shit!!!! That's the luckiest takedown of Scotland I've ever seen!
Once I made William the Conqueror conquer Scotland and earned him the name William the Merciless
French general- WE TAKE BRITIAN
Soldier-sir we just lost the war
French general-how its only been a bloody season!
Soldier- a man named legend exterminated our armies
French general- right I'm declaring hacks brb
Average day of legends enemies
If your king is an alcoholic, will you play drunk?
If he does he has to go to the oldest fucking brewery he can find and get drunk of the oldest ale he could buy, and I'm talking about something hundreds of years old (it shouldn't be massively expensive like wine, since it's just ale. It might taste like piss though. Well, all ale tastes like piss anyways. Fermented non sweetened honey).
Now I am reinstalling Stainless Steel. This style of campaign looks so interesting.
I heard of an interesting way to play this once: you play a campaign for as long as your king is alive, and the moment he dies you send the savefile to a friend who takes over as the new king, and then you keep going like that. Tried it this way?
The Seth Show I’d be up for this haha
Pravus gaming did this.
look guys, something original on youtube. i thought this day would never come.
This is an amazing idea. I can imagine you doing this with every faction
Mate, you are just making awesome content lately, keep it up ya legend
In Medieval TW III I hope they model the cities to look like their namesakes. In the very least geographically, possibly incorporating real life landmarks.
Donald Patrick Just give modders a map editor and they will do it
I think they once said there would never be a medieval 3 but you should check online and not take my world for it
First Medieval 2 playthrough I've watched, and that pre-battle speech was amaxing.
Probably for the best this isn't SS as well. Generals tend to live much longer in that mod, I've had some live up to near 90 years old.
Yeah but one turn per year in that mod
FlipUltraHD you can change it to 2 turns per year but it also affects settlements income and other crap, so it affects gameplay as well
That's rather unrealistic for the time isn't it? Low life expectancy and all that.
Hawnzor nobody gives a shit if you can or cannot watch the whole thing.
Nobody gives a shit if you give a shit.
Nobody gives a shit about you giving a shit about him giving a shit!
GlazedGamer we all just don't give a shit about shit.
well... shit
Within King William lies the Roman blood of the ruthless, ingenious, and incestuous Scipii from 250BC.
I genuinely enjoyed this video. I might even dare say that it was much better than I expected.
I have seen other youtubers try this sort of thing and it hardly works. I am glad that this episode worked so well. I will be looking forward for more.
Seeing the damage you're doing with peasant archers, I can't wait until you get longbowmen.
Never have I wanted to play Medieval 2 so much. This role-playing immersion is fantastically entertaining!
really enjoying the newer content nice to see you actualy playing for fun it shows the content is great
always looking out for the next m2 videos, great stuff!
Hey Legend you should do this and that!!!
Hey Legend I have a suggestion you should also do this and that and
Those with this one and that one and once you did the thing you could also tweak that one and also

Cool idea. Will be interesting when your empire becomes bigger. And the 60 fps is really nice
This is absolutely tremendous :). A slightly ornery, possibly high Australian does alternative history role play. Just outstanding
love this series already. I'd totally watch a campaign like this on stainless steel or divide and conquer.
You know you are a nerd when you get excited as he is describing how he will play out the campaign.
Every youtuber ever's outro: That's it for today guys, hope you have enjoyed, leave a like, comment, subscribe... and all that stuff...
LegendofTotalWar's outro: See you next time fuckers.
More m2tw from LegendofTotalWar, awesome. Keep this coming
Hello random person from 6 years ago 😘
Both your role playing series are awesome it's nice to see a different side of your content mate! I've actually gotten better at RTW because of your Scipii series! Keep these coming!
These long vids are really nice to revise with, keep it up man!
Very nice idea for a campaign. I think this could turn out quite interesting.
Ugh, as soon as you think you are bored watching Legend's videos, he pulls you back in. Damn dis gud
thanks legend. This is a great concept. I'm looking forward to this series (scipii, england). Keep up the amazing work you put in :)
This will actually be really awesome. Good job man.
This is going to be awesome. I love the role playing idea of this it's going to be so entertaining
I love the roleplay campaigns, they're a fresh approach to old games, and not a style other folk really do... Maybe someday we'll get a Legend does Massalia Tales series, all going well !

Don't have the time right now but I will come back and watch this whole series :)
I really like these new weird "challenge" playthroughs. This is cool stuff. Keep up the creativity :) you are a legend after all
Dude this campaign is great and funny as hell. Definitely keep it going man!

I really enjoy this role play as the kings! Keep it going!
I have a suggestion for role playing
Do it more often :)
"Captain brave sir robin" lol I'm dead
Lol and he bravely ran away too
This sounds epic!! can't wait to see how it plays out. And also: wow, this is like 5 episodes worth of content :D you really do spoil us lately :D
Glad to see the new format in action here. Was a long-time viewer, dropped off during the TWW video blitz, am back and enjoying the new (return to old?) style campaigns you're running now.
This is honestly extremely fun to watch.

After seeing your last video i needed more, didnt follow you during your old medieval content so theres alot of fresh stuff for me
You said england was never that large, it was larger 100 years later under the angevin henry II.
It sucks you got excommunicated as a religiously minded king.
"You can't please everybody" - LegendofTotalWar

It's like watching Game of Thrones narrated by Legend.
Damn, 2 hours and 30 minutes of Medieval 2. Shit, who needs to sleep anyway
Alright boys you heard em, start suggesting things he should do.
I know everyone probably recommends mods all the time,
but honestly, Stainless Steel, an overhaul mod that just improves the base game in every way while keeping to its original design view, is awesome. It makes the original game look so basic. I would highly enjoy watching you play a series of that mod on very hard.
He already did though...
Legend, I suggest that you don't take any suggestions.
Well King William certainly lived up to his names and died a legend.
"GAH!!!!!" **King dies**
Legend: Ok there we go!
Legend, loved this video and love this idea for a series. Keep up the content!
That cav charge at 2:22:22 is like Stannis in GoT
To make the roleplay immersive you should mainly use dismounted knights and longbowmen in the XIII century period.
Such a good idea! Now I'm going to try roleplaying a campaign.
Lets go Legend! I really enjoy this new style!
Boi I'm settling down for a good show, 2 and a half hours damn.
That's a great campaign. Pls more!!!
I kinda wept a little seeing my country get so easily crushed, but I fixed that by playing as Scotland and smashing England.
And here I was, thinking that Medieval 2 TW can't be any more entertaining. I've never been so wrong in my life.
Great. The same way I am usually play.
It‘s good to be the king!
Pretty accurate replay of some parts of the 100 year war :).
This is a cool playstyle, I'm going to try this myself.
damn this brings me back, first campaign i ever played
so *that’s* why pirates of the english channel never caught on
40:00 that sounds a lot like a speech Legend might actually give
This series is going to be sick
it's a really good campaign, keep doing it

love the work you arr doing in every campaign keep up the good work
I gotta love how you had more difficulty taking a Rebel castle than you did Scotland's capital. lol
I think the Scottish army going into the fleet earlier on was them gearing up to go hit Ireland or maybe one of the Scandinavian settlements.
iv been waiting for this campagin for years
I love these roleplay series.
the way the knights are dressed is extremely anachronistic
Inverness hasn't changed much...
"he likes to shit on books. ii can respect that"
in every legend video theres at least one golden moment and its fucking hilarious
You filthy role player. This is, in my opinion, the best idea you have come up with.
i think this is a great idea, looking forward to more
