T tops are the best. You get a glass roof, just enough open air and they are easy to store. I greatly prefer them to targa tops. The 4th gen really was an awesome car in nearly every way. Criminally underrated due to price and reputation as a trailer park king's vehicle. The market doesn't lie, nice trans ams sell for more than C5s these days. Far more rare when new, much more rare now as all corvettes are garage queens and f bodies got DESTROYED. F bodies were half the price and just as fast so it makes sense... Also more raw and the end of an era.
Depreciation hit these pretty hard, the WS6s might be a harder to find and more expensive but I see plenty of these for sale, and they're still pretty undervalued.
@@damienlee1165 ws6 vs non ws6 trans ams is about 50/50 split in terms of production. Don't let the ws6 fanboys tell you different. It's really a hood and sway bar lol there's absolutely zero difference in how they drive. I agree, if you can find a clean 6 speed example it's still a deal but not forever. Prices have been rising and aren't going to slow down
Slightly easier than a Z32 T-Top, just a safety switch for the handle (also locks), and bags to put them in and straps to hold them into the trunk while you stow the language on top. The Z32 also has a privacy screen, and shades for the T-Top.
I bought an 02 Z28 and didn't realize they locked in the back there. I'm not sure that was even in the manual book, but the manual does come with instructions on how to get your car out if its stuck in sand though.
Kinda funny how you thought that was a good system. My thought was gm better than a mr2 in no leaking t-tops or rattley? Doubtful... Then there's the "storage" where it's rattley af. Looks like "gm quality" to me. xD
Well I've got some bad news for ya....they are much less leaky than mr2s and don't rattle at all. I have owned 8 aw11s and 3 sw20s, 4th gen f bodies have the best application of t tops. They fit tight and secure, the mechanism is solid and the panels are high quality while being very light

The Trans Am was my goal car. By the time I got out of the Army in '06, and out of college in '10, there was no longer a Pontiac.

i would forever be annoyed by getting fingerprints on the glass when taking them off, but love the lock in idea in the back
