This is kind of a Carpuride W903 Review I guess.
I always want to add CarPlay (or Android Auto) to older vehicles if they don't have it, and it's always a pain. I also always want to add a dashcam, and that's also always a pain, haha. I saw an ad for this Carpuride W903, which adds both super easy, and it can add those two things to any vehicle. It kind of turns my LX570 into an LX600 in the sense that I now how dual screens, and dual functionality. Pretty rad. Anyway, yeah this is a mini review of the Carpuride W903 unit. There are others out there that might do a similar thing, but I haven't tried them.

Mike, yes please do more vids like this. I drive a GX460 and after your last video I have the bug for an LX! Thanks a lot. Also I’ve been looking for one of these CarPlay units after that video too (didn’t know they existed until your LX570 vid) so thanks for the overview.
Timely video. Have been looking into solutions to address this problem in my truck. Some companies want $1,800 for an "OEM" multimedia install with CarPlay! Unreal. Just snagged the same model as you for under $200 thanks to your discount code. Thanks!
I've been looking also. I heard that you can't view the screen when wearing polarized sunglasses. Any truth to it?
Great timing on this video for me, my Carpuride is out for delivery. Can’t wait to install, great video and content!
I’ve been running one of these on the LC100 for a few months now. Works amazing! And great for those of us who have nav models and don’t wanna deal with having to swap out a million parts and spend a ton of money on changing out the head unit.
The model I got was like $85 on Amazon and came with front and rear camera
Great info. How are you using the audio? 100 series doesn’t have an aux input from my understanding.
@@johndean4120 the version I got has a built in fm transmitter, so I use it that way. When watching videos, the audio is slightly delayed, but other than that everything works great.
@@eserv88which did you go with
just purchased. Appreciate the $50 code and mostly for helping solve this issue with my LX. Nice!
100% buying this for my 2002 Xterra build! great alternative to a $500 pioneer double din replacement. Thank you for this video!
+1 for your current music playing, love Thrice and Vhiessu is arguably their best work.
Love the vid - just bought one for my GX470!
Thanks for sharing! I'm going to get this for my other old cars but jsut installed the crown focus kit for our 08 lx570 and it works awesome, no issues with using A/C or anything, it's no different than a brand new car now.
Thrice on the playlist. Nice! Another reason to love Mike!
Great video Mike.! Helpful and informative
Nice! I'm a Thrice fan as well!
A Thrice enthusiast!!! Great video and thanks for the info!!
What’s up Mike, cool product/install review. 🔧🔧🔧
Almost bought this for myself for my 02’ 4wd Tundra, but I ended up getting it for my wife’s ‘14 Camaro instead and she loves it! Great quality product. As for my old Tundra I installed an updated head unit with CarPlay which also turned out awesome from Amazon. Win win🏁🏁
Thank you for sharing! Always looking for cool little gadgets
excellent video and keep them coming. I am going to look into getting one of these
Exactly what I’ve been looking for. Towing my camper with a 2010 GMC. Just bought it using your code.
Perfect timing. Thanks!
Awesome vid Mike and thanks for all the information. I just ordered the exact same unit as you with your code and the new year code and I got it for 169+ free shipping. Awesome deal. Thanks for all the info. I think it’ll work good good in my 2019 Toyota Tacoma same way you are. I don’t have airplay or Apple, so I think this would be a great alternative…. And again I used your code. Thanks a lot Todd.
Thanks for this video. I've been looking for a simple way to add CarPlay to my 16 Jeep & 13 Suburban.
Great family vehicle. Good choice bro.
This is awesome. May get one for the Tacoma. Also Thrice 💪🏻
Really good video. Yes, love the gadget hack stories. Keep them coming. 😊
Thanks Mike. More product reviews, reminds me of the old days.
This is pretty cool! Thank you!
I have the little 7" screen one for my pre-screens BMW GS adventure motorcycle. Works amazing for that purpose too, doesn't destroy the phone camera and lets you put all your mapping stuff up on the screen easily
I’ve been using magnets to mount my 11” iPad Pro. 5g UW Works great… i mainly use maps and music in a focus mode. It works great! I have a 2016 Pilot.
Hey there! What does your vlogging camera setup look like? Love your videos!
What is this? Three videos in one week?? Sweeeeeeet!!
Actually, I dig the review stuff too. This is great.
This video may be random but I'm facing some of the exact same challenges in my '06 GX. Full replacement of the screen starts jacking with climate control and that doesn't sound like something I want do deal with. This looks to be a wonderful, inexpensive option.
Just got one based on your video for my GX460 and loving it so far. Curious how were you able customize the start up screen?
Seems like a good options for certain applications. The time period of cars where they had screens tied to car functions but horrid user interface is awful. This is a good solution to fix that. I may end up using this to use in my old miata, but i need to replace the speakers and headunit anyway so it may not be worth it in that case.
Heck yeah, Thrice!
Can you show us, sometime, how you have your ham radio or gmrs radios set up in your vehicle(s)? Thanks.
Thrice! great band
I have a 2018 LC200 and will try on of these. Let us know what else you do to that one. Thanks!
I believe the yellowing on the oem screen is due to a bad digitizer. Some people with ISFs have replaced it for cheap
Good day, does this accept a RAM mount attachment on the back for mounting? Thx
What dashcam did you use in your tundra? And what wireless carplay did you add to the Golf R?
This product could be just what I need for my '06 Wrangler. I'm liking how it can blend in with the stock look and being removable is a big plus. Seems like a better choice than sticking an iPad in there for those long drives. Wonder if it can hook up with GIA or OnX maps though?
I think Apple car play works with onX but I’m not 100%
Yeah, they both have apps that work with CarPlay, but most of the features you'll still need to go through your phone. Essentially the map for either app will show up on the screen, but functionality still through the phone. Last I checked anyway months ago, but there may have been some updates.
If you don't have an auxiliary option in your vehicle, are there other options to connect audio?
I've been looking for ways to get Android Auto into my 2011 SHO for years now. I think I might just have to get one of these.
What music are you playing through that nice system?
How did you add a different spash screen on the boot up?
What about rear back up cam.?
Optional?
How you do the custom boot up logo inserted into carpuride?
Coupon worked, it’s crazy that I have a 2016 200 series and it didn’t come with Apple Play
I have a 15 570 and have searched everywhere for a CarPlay solution. While maintaining ac and car controls and avoiding grom. I might do this! If I can convince the wifey
Great video. How does it mount to the dash??
I used the included mount
Make that golf r video!!
How do you create a custom logo on start-up?
What phone case is that?
Where did you get the LRD logo?
wanted an honest review of these- I have been on the fence for my 07 Range Rover sport & 07 Land Rover LR3- I have been hesitant because it seemed like a quasi-scam way over promise. But if it is work for you and at the price point I may have to indulge. It can be a pain taking the phone in an out all the time (first world problems).
Your barn garage doors are bad ass you should talk about them
Hey Mike,
How's this unit holding up? I ordered one similar off Amazon and it worked great for a week, then it completely died on me mid drive. I'm looking at ordering this one now to replace it!
No issues so far!
How does it mount to the dash? Also can you make audio adjustments in the unit?
It's mounted with the included mount (sticky / removable pad) - or with an also included suction cup mount.
Does your phone fall off that magnet mount when hitting bumps? Been thinking about the best way to get an awesome screen in an older Subaru and this is a cool approach!
Those magsaf magnetic are pretty strong. I'm more interested in how the stand was mounted to his dash. 3m sticky?
This one is actually pretty strong. I'm sure if you're sending it full speed through baja it might fall off, but it's pretty solid. The one I linked in the video description is good.
Does it mount to the dash with adhesive I'm assuming?
I read that the screen appears all black if you wear polarized sunglasses. Any truth to it?
Damn you! I’m sitting here in the airport lounge, flight delayed and just bought this because of your video… haha
Keep up the great work man!
Is the height adjustable on the mount? Like to lower the gap between the dash and the screen?
It has a telescopic adjustment stand, so yes!
This will work in early 00s model vehicles? Dont need usb or other inputs to play on the radio/sound system?
Can transmit through aux cable, Bluetooth, FM transmitter, so one of those should work
@@LastLineOfDefense Thanks. Cool little upgrade for the ole Yukon. And need another for the vanagon!!
Are you able to see if Uber Driving App loads on it?
On sale rn at Amazon 180 out the door!
So it's an expensive receiver, essentially? I did need a 12 in tablet style head unit in my '05 Yukon XL. Paid like $140 on Amazon and had to find the adapter, and it was a breeze to self install. A bit of trim modification, and all done. Now I've got dual subs, all of my factory settings, including steering wheel controls, Bluetooth, maps, apps, etc. It also came with a backup cam. I was able to keep the "janky" look down, with modern tech and a nice large but miminally invasive screen.
Yeah, if you have a setup in place that it’s easy to replace the unit with a standard generic double din unit - then that’s certainly an option. This Lexus and a lot of other cars don’t have that luxury. I listed a handful of other benefits as well.
@LastLineOfDefense the funny thing is, it would look really cool in conjunction with my current setup. I was more than likely gonna pick one up. If it's that easy to connect via Bluetooth, I can also run it in my camper or as a dashboard for my work shop. The other thing is the Pac adapter for the Yukon cost about $30 more than the head unit itself in order to keep the factory amp and steering wheel controls. A $200 ish receiver makes a lot of sense, and it looks like if you tinker with it enough, it could actually be pretty stylish.
How does the unit mount? Is it 3M tape?
Carpuride gave me three brackets! Mine has a 3M sticker holder that can be installed on the dashboard, and a suction cup retractable holder that can be installed on the windshield or center console.
That's a good set up for $230. No brainer.
I've hear that you can't view the screen when wearing polarized sunglasses. Can anyone chime in on their experience?
How am I just now finding out that you listen to Thrice?!
Been a Thrice fan forever, used to always cover their songs back in high school, haha
Every time I see this jacket now, I think of Vivek
Grom vline adds CarPlay to original screen and retains old system for only $250 plug and play
Where you finding it for $250? But also my screen is pretty garbage
Wireless CarPlay under 1k is unbelievable
Everything Ive seen under 1k is wired car play
You can't make calls if you connect it to car radio by Bluetooth. You can't hear the caller. Its useless for that.
Where do you get money…
It’s called having a job. You should try it sometime.
still mind blowing how you buy cars to collect dust them sell them
Like literally everyone who has ever bought a car, I buy cars to use them, and eventually sell them when I get a different car. The only cars that I've owned in my life that have collected dust are those two land cruisers... Which I haven't sold.
I’m way late on this one
If a cop pulls you over you can turn the camera
I’ve always wanted a full camera system, each with its own SD card. If a cop pulls me over he’d be on cam from before he got out of his car and no mater where he stood.
1. Front
2. Rear
3. left mirror
4. right mirror
5. Facing driver window
6. Facing passenger window
7. center interior facing backseat,
8. center interior from the back glass facing forward.
9. Dedicated backup cam/secondary rear cam from license plate view
10. Front license plate cam to see blind spot in front of the car (like a back up cam but for seeing exactly how close you are to the thing in front of you)
Cams are pretty small now so they can be very unobtrusive.
i like the setup. just lose that grill
why did you delete my comment? can not handle some criticism?
What was your comment @1150chapman?
I don't often delete comments, unless someone is trying to spread some weird false information, which is pretty rare on my channel. TH-cam does have its own filter though, or users can flag/report comments.
Such a ugly interior mod. I bet he's going to delete that android unit lol. Lx looks good
