When I went in to the hospital, I was told I had textbook apendicitis, and a med student was even brought over to poke my abdomen to see how perfect of a case it was - then, when the doctor found out the imaging came back fine for my appendix but my pancreas was inflamed, he said it was likely caused by excessive alcohol intake and that they wouldn't give me any pain medication because it was possible I was just looking for a fix. Horrible experience and a traumatic time.
i had acute pancreatitis. my pain started before Christmas and i was finally diagnosed correctly Jan 4th. My husband said i was just constipated, or that i had gas pain. dr said ulcer. ER said i was fine and sent me home. When I was finally diagnosed i was in 12/10 pain screaming. no one would listen. fentanyl was ineffective. I required 3 days hospitalized. they gave me fluids i could not eat, and i needed dilaudid every hour

My brother is in hospital with this now, he had the pain on and off for more than 6 months but was not seen by a doctor due to covid and that the pain went away, finally a doctor saw him and sent him to hospital with suspected infected gale bladder, they did scans and said 75% of his pancreas had died and they think it was to do with gale stones moving onto the pancreas, he is only 32 and has been there for 4 days so far but we still dont know if they will remove the dead flesh or not.

Is the pain steady, or sudden? I have pain attacks that last 15-30 minutes. I take beta-blockers.
