What was the empirical method to determine which plan was best? Can I see what plans they were? How was it determined which plan was best? By what metric? I'd be interested in seeing what was thought to be a plan of Allah and how it was determined it was, in fact, a plan at all, and that it was by Allah himself.
Because from where I'm standing, it looks like an empty rhetorical device with no substance without that additional context.

Atheist here.
I don't think religion is going anywhere soon. However, the claims made by theists are going to be further watered down. God would be pushed even more further away from the world we live in.
All the ancient scriptures in all religions portray gods as real characters who were actively meddling with this world, but these days even the best theists don't believe so. At best the claims of the present theists is: God works miracles. I know this cause it is written in a favourite book of mine.
How would god be pushed farther away just because the claims are being watered down.the claim of God's existence and religion as something from god is not going anywhere.it has remained the same.sure there is watering down but not that much in Islam.also your claim that even the best theists don't believe that God wasn't meddling with the world is false as that particular of god meddling with the world is something the "best theists" still believe.and almost all theists are believing in that so ur claim that theist don't believe in divine intervention is going down or removed is wrong although I do religion is being watered down but that doesn't mean the religion or god will be removed or pushed farther away from the world we live in.that just means people are reinterpreting scriptures but that they will almost never reinterpret to say god is not real or god hasn't have a divine intervention .the rate of that is not really constantly changing.its stagnant.
Also what's the problem with saying god works miracles.if we have a argument through which we have proven god is real and omnipotent I really don't think it's stupid to believe in divine intervention and buddy no one is doubting that and watering it down in that way so check your facts.
