I came to Goa this November expecting it to be peak season. However, upon arriving in Goa, I found that there were no crowds; all the restaurants and beaches were empty, and there were no shacks on the beachside. The climate was also extremely hot. I haven't seen Goa like this before; it used to be so lively. Even now, as I have seen in your videos, there are no crowds, and all the streets are empty. What's the reason behind it?
@@MosesJSaldanhaI checked out your video just now. I know it is a relief for all locals like you but it is quite surprising to see Goa empty in the peak season.
I think I will agree with all the relevant answers and Moses as well. It is true that with certain exotic foreign locations allowing visa free entry to us Indians added with the overall benefit of visiting a foreign country at almost similar expense to visiting Goa during peak season has caused this shift. This will hit the hardworking people of Goa who depend on the peak season business.
Thank you moses for the update. With such high soaring prices of hotel rooms and expensive foods . With ill treatment by local cops. Its better to watch goa through you. Beautiful goa is being expolited by wealthy capitalists. Good that crowd is avoiding goa. Hope property owners learn some lessons and stop unreasonable price hikes. I have heard property owners have hiked lease agreements by twice the current rates.Btwn we love ur vlogs. Great content ❤
Keeping every other thing aside, and speaking from pure domestic traveller's perspective only : If any tourist place inside India turns out to be more expensive than foreign travel/tour, then many people might prefer to travel abroad. And this psychology is not limited to Indians, its just worldwide. Foreign tourist prefer India/asia travel because its cheaper. But i would also add one crucial point and this may become a debate, that i dont know why but i have seen in every tourist place inside India , the locals treat foreigners and domestic indian tourist very differently. Every where domestic tourist is seen as "not worthy". The colonial slave mindset is still deeply rooted in us. Most domestic tourist are average normal people looking for a break from routine life. Most are sensible. But locals of every tourist destination treats every fellow indian as inferior. I experienced it first hand in goa too. And trust me i am a very sensible tourist person. Very shy and introvert and i keep quite and respect local culture. But i was treated so badly and was asked to leave just because the restaurant preferred "foreigner" tourists. Even then, i still believe all local goans and others are my brothers. But please do not tag every fellow indian tourist as outsider. The outsiders, in that sense, are the foreigners. And many are staying in goa illegally but the colonial slave mindset still treat them as some god. This inferiority complex needs to be talked about. I dont have anything against foreigner tourist. They bring business here. But so does the domestic tourist and in comparison, much much more than the foreigners. Moses, i love your vlogs. I see you as my brother and i love each state. Please spread this message that the domestic tourist also needs to be treated like a person of value. You guys can beat up the loud filthy ones, that i support fully. But make sure the right people are treated with love and care too. ❤❤
Thanks for another lovely vlog Moses. We were in Goa during Diwali time a month plus back, then too crows was less, which was refreshing from a tourist point of view.
This is how Goa used to be....love when its not too crowded. But sad to see the businesses suffer but the drop in tourists is mainly cause Goa has become an expensive holiday destination right from bus tickets, stays, travel, food etc.
As a Goa lover but outsider, I think the cumulative effect of these have affected Goa tourism this year: 1. Saturation and exhaustive touristic experience of Goa by Indian tourists after lockdown was waived till 2022 winter, after that this is an year of depression , with the normal expectancy that next year, after a gap of one year, the same folks would return to Goa. 2. The winter vacation is colurful in Goa, but prices are very high, in fact almost irrationally in beachfront huts , so people will wait till January 1 and then the tour of Goa will be started by them. In fact shacks employ temporary, extremely short term cooks and attendants without any prior Goa experience in December end. I believe from 26 January , weekend travel to Goa will rise to expected level or may be even more, but not now. 3. International tourists have expressed in several platforms a concern over unease in Goa, not due to any locals but due to large groups from elsewhere in India not letting them the privacy, respect and relaxedness. In other words, one section of tourists have hazarded another section. Please respect difference instead of fetishizing difference. 4. A number of accommodations which were very popular with tourists have been shut down , or transformed into not-so- authentically Goan places. Fir example, the unfortunate closure of Sundowner in Shark Rock , Palolem , or, the fluctuations in Indian/Ciarans/Tapas . 4. Climate was cruel on Goa during the rains. Like Kuta in Bali is damaged by big waves in 2023 rains, and still not properly rebuilt. 5. Airlines have charged twice more for flights to GOI , than flights to Mirissa or Krabi. 6. Varkala is reviving again as a surfer's paradise, and attracting tourists to have a charming alternative ( although no two beaches in the world are alike). 7. This is absolutely a personal estimate. Please forgive for mistakes
I was following you bro. Today as planned we wentto Anjuna flea market as mentioned in the website, but it was closed. Anyway we went to baga market, but its expensive. Your blog is of great help,we really enjoy our vacation in Goa...we're leaving tomorrow, bye bye Goa😢
Good video but it could be more informative if you mention the cover charges of Anjuna area cafe and seaside lounges. And overall your work is very nice and you did it in a mature way.
Budget wise is expensive , all the cafes are super expensive. If you are thinking of traveling to goa than forget it goa is tooooooo expensive now, simple rooms for 1k atleast nd 700 to 1000 for food daily. Better go other countries if you have a budget of 2500 daily.

This time I changed my destination from Goa to Wayanad, Calicut, Kerala. Hope for better prices in Jan and Feb 24 in goa.❤🎉 Now I am in Wayanad,l.
Great 👍 Yes prices from jan are cheap
The high prices and ill treatment of tourists with scams and no respect. Have caused Goa to lose its charm. But we will always love you Moses.
Thank you for the love ❤️
Also, visa free options in Asian countries along with competitive air fares have made domestic tourists to avoid goa
Locals behaviour is really really not good, no ethics, most of them are trying to loot tourists
We agree
As always love the virtual tour beach road market n all 👍👍
Glad you like them!
Can you suggest any restaurant for local Goan breakfast like usal pav patalbhaji pav mirchi & local Goan fish thali near to Anjuna?

People have decided to go to other places like Thailand and Vietnam this time due to low prices and good facilities

Because of high prices and arrogance of some locals
