    Beautiful playing! I’m amazed that this is Carcassi‘a Opus1 number 1, yet I’ve never heard it before. It definitely deserves to be played more often.

    Wonderful playing! I am really shocked that modern players only play, usually, opus 60 by Carcassi. He has a very nice repertoire.

    • @Nylon_and_Gut-MatteoLaurenzi
      @Nylon_and_Gut-MatteoLaurenzi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Alberto. Yes I totaly agreed the Carcassi repertoire in ectually very nice. I am enjoying exploring every opus of Carcassi's work. Some of the works I also managed to record (audio+video).
      Now I am working on recording the complete op.8.
      Op.3 and 4 I also managed to record almost every piece. Is chalenging but I like it.
      Thank you for watching and commenting.

      So I’ve been doing research on Carcassi and it seems his first works were published in 1820. I don’t know when he started writing them, I’m guessing he started them before then. I also found something else that is interesting. I went digging and found old hand written baptism records from the late 1700s and found that he was born April 8th in 1796, it said his full name was Antonio Matteo Carcassi. I’m still working on finding more info (I’m working on making a biography for him) but thought you might find this stuff interesting.

      @@tea-and-guitars If Carcassi was born on 1796 and this piece was published in 1820.. It means he was 24 when he published this.. I have the partiture for this piece, i downloaded from the guitardelcamp forum, but it was published in a French publisher, dated 1926.. Do you know where he originally published his first Opus? or the influence he got? Carulli died in 1841, n Giuliani died in 1829.. So i guess at some point in history, these Italians were contemporaries to each other, maybe in Paris-France.. Not to mention Sor were there too..

    • @tea-and-guitars
      @tea-and-guitars 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My best answer in my research is he met Antoine Meissonnier in 1819 in Germany. Antoine had a publishing house in France since 1812 and I think had published Sor. Antoine also had a younger brother Racine who followed in the same footsteps. Carcassi first published with Antoine in France, 1820. I also found more records on Carcassi. Found an original obituary and record of his grave. Scrounged some more internet archives of newspapers and written records.
