Walk with us through picturesque Broadstairs. This small English town with links to Charles Dickens has to be one of the most beautiful towns in Europe and is surely among the top 10 towns in UK.
We begin our walk through Broadstairs at Victoria Gardens, overlooking Viking Bay - (Broadstairs beach.)
Our tour takes us past the Dickens House Museum, along both Charlotte and Albion Street , past Balmoral Gardens and down Harbour Street to the seafront. From we wind up the path to Bleak House.
This is not the actual Bleak House referred to his novel, (it was renamed from Fort House after his death,) Charles Dickens did stay here every summer, and wrote many novels from here. You can stay in Dickens' original bedroom and use the study where he wrote David Copperfield.

@Vyathris Best seaside town ever. Morelli's for coffee and kitsch, proper fish and chips fried in onion dripping. Then the Chelsea Tractors moved in.

On my last visit I sat on the beach and got out my sandwich. I was just about to take a bite when something hit me in the face and my sandwich was no longer there. Do look out for the gulls.

I lived in Broadstairs from 1955 to 1958. Does the Holy Cross convent still exist? It was an Open Air School for sick kids. If its gone whats taken its place?

It certainly is quite brilliant in the summertime. Only a shame that 2020 last year WASN'T a year to expect good things. But Nonetheless, Broadstairs is the place to be, in my opinion. I should know. I live there.

I lived in Broadstairs briefly at a place called Sunnyholme on Dumpton Park Drive in the late 1960's and it was 2018 when I went back again for the first time in a very long time. hasn't changed a bit.

@@Kings_New_Clothese hi yes I remember both, lovely people. Marie Wibmer lives in Australia and poor nick has gon to heaven. I remember the Vale Church. My brother Bob married one of the assistance. Lorna. Remember long walks with Mr Wibmer and having a preyer when it took his fancy. Embarrassing as a teenager. Still have plenty of good memorys.

My mum wants me to take her to broadstairs at the weekend, i've never been so i thought let me see if there are any videos of the place. Man youtube is sooo useful. This is exactly the type of video i was after. Not just showing the beach but walking around the town itself in first person, so now i know exactly what to expect when i get there. Great video!

Use to go there every summer visiting my Auntie & Uncle we would always play on the arcades/beach, eat savooloy & chips and have long walks from the beach to the shops but since my Uncle passed away I've refused to go to Kent for summer time it just isn't the same anymore 😔

I'd like to know what the job opportunities are in the town and surrounding area. I've heard there are some industrial estates: what do they make and is Broadstairs commutable? P.S. I don't wish to be crude and disrespectful but I don't wish to wash old people's bottoms.
